Ronny wasting his breath

731

Ronny Deila is wasting his breath when trying to warn those who throw pyrotechnics that they damage Celtic’s reputation. That fact is already well established but is irrelevant to those for whom throwing pyrotechnics is part of their football experience.

There is a clash of culture here. ‘The Man’, whether that be Uefa or the Health & Safety Executive, forbids pyrotechnics at football, but the consequences are visited on Celtic, not those who bring the pyrotechnics. No one has been brave enough to put their name to the pyrotechnic culture and I suspect no one ever will.

The last 24 hours has been a huge success for this unclaimed culture; it managed to grab some of the little space alongside the David Bowie news on Radio 5Live this morning, and many other places, adding fuel to the fire, if you pardon the pun. Someone is glowing with an “I did that” sense of achievement, although, of course, he’d never say so openly. It will continue unless the consequences are moved away from Celtic.

  1. Hope EK get through for a big pay day and get to the Council to get its finger out and approve the new ground.

The last time Celtic played in Calderglen was 1970 ( might be a year or so out) big Jock took the champs up there , where they trained and played cricket ….

The likelihood, should EKFC beat Lothian Thistle, of the Cup tie v Celtic being played at K Park, is at the anorexic end of slim.

    Just saying.

So you closet Kilby fans on CQN best get over to K Park on the 20th for the rearranged 4th round tie. 7.30pm kick off. £10 at the gate, £5 concessions.

  3. Right, that’s it for me. Never subscribed to the ‘we need to move leagues’ brigade, but this latest blatantly rigged draw has finished me. They’re not even trying to cover their work anymore.

The club should be asking some very hard questions about what is being played out here but tragically they won’t. Sevco were NEVER going to get an away tie.Never. The fact that the office hun knew this today and was sniggering about it sickens me. They revel in cheating and the fact that Scottish football stays silent.

Time to move or chuck it.

  4. Tontine Tim @ 6:24…

I am not sure what the competition rules are these days however in 1995/1996 season we were drawn against Whitehill Welfare and they switched their home tie against us to Easter Road,

I would doubt that the home advantage can be reversed but I imagine our opponents will be looking at a big pay day at some alternative venue.

Luis Enrique wins world coach of the year award. Not sure what happened there. Surely had to go to the Warbmeister…..?

  6. embramike says "the Huns are Deid" on

K Park and Saughton Enclosure both have capacities in the hundreds so match will almost definitely be switched to a bigger venue.

Saughton Enclosure is only a few miles from Tynecastle but that weekend there is the little matter of Hearts v Hibs with all the policing implications even switching to Easter Road.

I’m sure Jobo can refresh me on where the nearest suitable and available ground for Kilby’s switch would be, but surely Celtic Park would make sense financially and for the players – the result will never honestly be in doubt.

  7. Celtic got the easiest draw and the huns drew a top league side. Can’t see a stitch up there. Fair bit of paranoia today.

I would fancy Killie more at Ibrox with the greater space than a scrap at Rugby Park.

Dilemma for us is what level of team to play.

Temptation to play the dev squad but i would rather 3 young lads in the starting line up and sub off senior players if the game is in the bag. Treble is too precious.

    hail hail

  8. That fictitious bag containing the dissident Mr Hankey

has gleefully been dumped over the Celtic crest

thanks to the baw-bags at Stranraer…………..

Their actions have helped scoddland’s finest dump their sectarian BS line on the Club’s reputation.

    Cheers lhads – well played.

  9. Just saw the draw. A real pity that regardless who we (that’s Celtic for Jobo and TBB :-)) play in the next round it’ll almost certainly be played at a bigger venue.

Sending Stokes to Hibs starting to appeal…

  11. The Battered Bunnet on

For Kilby, a tie v Celtic is worth multiples of the annual budget if the venue is big enough. The chances of playing the game at K Park are accordingly slim.

If Kilby get through the 4th round, and with Queens Park being out, Hampden will be available. Wouldn’t bet against it.

Could be a home tie for you at New Douglas Park?

    HT

We’ve got fewer than 400 seats at K Park. With standing, maybe 600 would be permitted. It was desinged as a training ground nit a stadium. The stadium plans are with South Lans Council. Again…

  14. Stairheedrammy on

A lot of you guys are getting reeled in by this bull, the flares were a daft idea but made no difference to what the media had planned for us, almost as soon as the game finished we had Sky, BBC Sevco, the DR and Polis Scotland all firing off the sectarian lies. Contrast that with th bigot show at Ibrox last week, it took till Thursday for the BBC to mention it and still no plus statement. Flares or no flares we are being played.

  15. Coneybhoy, with the greatest of respect my good mhan, there is no paranoia involved. What we are witnessing is institutionalised cheating. The dogs in the street KNEW sevco wouldget a home tie AGAIN. As for Kilmarnock? Watch them roll over and get their tummies tickled.

Sporting integrity in Scottish football, like the huns, is dead.

  16. Cults

I’d imagine that Accies or Motherwell would make most sense mate.

    TBB

It’s a shame because it really would be an example of the perfect romantic cup tie.

  17. 67Heaven .. CHALLENGING THE LIE ..I am wee Oscar...... Ipox belongs to the creditors on

Working, but just received a text telling me the Police have caught 3 of the culprit ….. GREAT…. Those pyres are really dangerous, and anyone throwing them should be severely punished ….. Although I luv the GB singing etc, if it was their members who perpetrated this latest disgraceful transgression against Celtic and nearby fans, the GB should be banned altogether…end of story …if it wasn’t GB members, noone will be more pleased than me…a disgusting act of violence …..

I took a judgement from what I saw on BBC… I didn’t need to be directed by any commentary.

The kids that are doing this are daft.

Doing it innocently/ naively as a one off is vaguely understandable but doing it knowing it will cost your club £0000s is the height of stupidity.
