Ronny wasting his breath

731

Ronny Deila is wasting his breath when trying to warn those who throw pyrotechnics that they damage Celtic’s reputation. That fact is already well established but is irrelevant to those for whom throwing pyrotechnics is part of their football experience.

There is a clash of culture here. ‘The Man’, whether that be Uefa or the Health & Safety Executive, forbids pyrotechnics at football, but the consequences are visited on Celtic, not those who bring the pyrotechnics. No one has been brave enough to put their name to the pyrotechnic culture and I suspect no one ever will.

The last 24 hours has been a huge success for this unclaimed culture; it managed to grab some of the little space alongside the David Bowie news on Radio 5Live this morning, and many other places, adding fuel to the fire, if you pardon the pun. Someone is glowing with an “I did that” sense of achievement, although, of course, he’d never say so openly. It will continue unless the consequences are moved away from Celtic.

  1. DD,

Firstly respect for actually making the effort to go to the games.

I only watched it on telly and I knew the headlines before a ball was kicked. In your opinion was that giant banner used as a cover for the pyros ,and if so it must have taken far more than three individuals to organise.

  2. away back in 1984 a dick in order to impress those standing about him, decided to launch his empty onto the park at Celtic Park it missed everybody however 1 soul decided to seiize the chance and went down as if hit by a whole crate of empties. The dick with the empty possibly and most probably cost Celtic the chance to progress to a European final not the Scottish meeja not. the scottish establishment and neither the SFA or the Scottish polis, just a wee dick who probably meant no harm. The thing is the bottle thrower was never identified but I dare say those standing about him knew who he was and they are probably the latter day equivalent of today’s posters defending the actions of so called wee bhoys, imagine if their youthful exuberance in the future was to deprive you of another Seville

btw wtf has Bobby Sands got do with Celtic playing Stranraer in a Scottish cup tie in the middle of January

  3. FYI,

Aberdeen fans regularly complain about their busses getting stopped at Dunblane.

They think they are being singled out.

    Silly sheepies.

No comment on that one:)….Polis, they are too scared to utter a sentence against them.

And ive yet to hear them condemn the recent sectarian attacks on Celtic supporters in the Gallowgate.

IMO The PLC are told what to do….basically look the other way, and shut up.

    Smoke bombs and flares ffs.

Wait till next season when the undead are unleashed….there will be blood.

Lets see if they can blame Celtic fans for that.

  6. thomthethim for Oscar OK on

    JFH,

I said yesterday that if the ST uptake is greater next season, when they are promoted and if the demand exceeds the supply for tickets v them, then the Boards PERCEIVED stance will be seen to be justified by the majority of match attending fans.

Excuses of just being there to support Celtic are invalid…….nobody would turn up if only one team took to the field.

It will be make your mind up time for Celtic FOOTBALL supporters.

It is not a crime to hoist a banner, but I agree that the flares were thrown from behind the giant Ultras flag.
