Ronny’s fuel for next four months

1674

There would have been no surprise reading Ronny Deila’s ‘heaven and hell’ season in the Celtic View.  It must have been an enthralling season for the manager but, good grief, it started with an 8.6 on the Strachan Early Season Scale.

These experiences mark us.  We’ve watched footballers and managers grow weary (another word for lazy) in the past, as their early groundwork waned during good times, but memories like Legia or Maribor will inform every decision Ronny Deila makes for the next four months.  He needs to use that ‘Never again’ month as fuel right now.

Did you sign the petition yesterday to demand the Scottish Government repeal their ill-conceived nonsense of a law which the entire country outside of Holyrood, and a few elites at Police Scotland, know is an abomination?  If not, here’s your chance.

    Too true

Like the BBC, the politicos amongst us are probably severely restricted on what we can actually say on polling day. To hold strong opinions does not make us plants.

I am on here for Celtic and other football stuff, and the very witty guys who make me laugh, the political stuff for the last 9 months , bores me to tears mate,’scroll on by’i hear a few guys shouting now, I do.There must be blogs for political stuff , no?.HH

Labour took the Scottish support for granted and went for middle England with their right of centre policies. Hell mend them for that approach. You know I was a fervent Labour member and supporter, not now. Someone mentioned a couple of days ago that Blair was the start of Labours decline, WRONG, Blair WAS Labours decline. It makes me sick that I voted for his party. :-((

    You speak for many,mate. Obviously.

Blinded by the prospect of power, the Labour Left fell into line. And were marginalised.

Reading back through some earlier posts, a few mentioned Derek Whyte.

Derek will never be listed as one of our greats but people seem to forget he was 24 when he was transferred. I know some of our support thought he was older than that as he had been in our first team for six years, from 1986 to 19192.

In my opinion his two best games for us for in a league cup game at Pittodrie, we were down to ten men ( Tony Shepherd was sent off) and we won on penalties. The other was the 1989 cup final where him and Mick McCarthy stood up to the sticky buns and what they threw at us.

I may get a few replies disagreeing with me.

I genuinely feel sorry for those who have been conned by the SNP.

As for the SNP themselves I have nothing but the utmost contempt.

    Regarding workers.

I live 25 km down south from Warsaw near the town with 50 000 population. I remembered there was a place in the town where the Ukrainians wait for people who come and take them for work. Those who wait there have no permanent employment. I was in shock yesterday when drove that street early Morning. There were about 200, maybe 300 men and women waiting in the rain. I felt sorry.

He gives some great insights into games, unlike many of them, and does it with humour too.

Wish I could say he was only joking about getting Sevco ‘back’ right enough, although he’s not alone there among ex-Celtic players and managers, unfortunately.

But you’re right, he sticks up for us even when being clearly encouraged not to.

Beatbhoy, like most of us, I loathed Gordon when he played at the place of dung in eighties. However, listening to him summarising games, he was spot on and observed things very people never noticed.

He puts guys in the media who were brought up as Celtic fans to shame.
