There would have been no surprise reading Ronny Deila’s ‘heaven and hell’ season in the Celtic View. It must have been an enthralling season for the manager but, good grief, it started with an 8.6 on the Strachan Early Season Scale.
These experiences mark us. We’ve watched footballers and managers grow weary (another word for lazy) in the past, as their early groundwork waned during good times, but memories like Legia or Maribor will inform every decision Ronny Deila makes for the next four months. He needs to use that ‘Never again’ month as fuel right now.
Did you sign the petition yesterday to demand the Scottish Government repeal their ill-conceived nonsense of a law which the entire country outside of Holyrood, and a few elites at Police Scotland, know is an abomination? If not, here’s your chance.

I always remember shouting for McGarvey to be substituted in the 85 final. We’d just equalised and he went through on McAlpine and hit the ball straight at him.” Get him aff” was my shout about a minute before he scored the winner.
Sevilla 3-0.
I am not noticing any triumphalist SNPr getting told to park it.
Humbled now, Happy Birthday to all who have a birthday today!
pfayr-aye, a mate text to say final v Sevco at Hamdump, pay at the gate, live on Sky…..? Canny see it masel
Good evening all
Prediction time (2010 in brackets)
SNP 41 (6)
Labour 9 (41)
Lib Dem 8 (11)
Conservative 1 (1)
Robert Tressell, it was in August or September 1985 the Hibs League Cup game which ended up 4 4 and we lost on penalties.
Big Pierce’s penalty ended up in the North Sea. An oil rig thought it was hit by a missile.
Bada
That probably came from Paul the Tim claiming that on Twitter.
According to Ernie when the Scottish electorate voted to stay in the Union that was democracy, when the same electorate now appear to be endorsing the SNP they are deluded.
I said when the referendum was lost that the fight was just beginning, I look forward to the Election results with great interest. Did I read somewhere that Polls were predicting 54% for SNP anything North of 50% would be sensational.

Think it was about September 85 but I could be wrong.

Ta, how d’ye know my degree?
Theglasgowcelticway, in the 85 cup final, only Frank McGarvey could have scored that header after a magnificent cross from Roy Aitken.
I didn’t know about CQN at the last General Election – tempus fugit eh?

Real scary stuff starting to come out of the woodwork in the last 24 hours.
Thought it was a wind up then an article appeared in the Grauniad Election blog.
Backed up by the swing to Milli-E picked up in the last set of polls.
The Establishment is starting to feel under pressure and something needs to be done …
… And done PDQ.
Dave-the-Rave can’t make his magic number with Cleggy / NF alone.
Consequently Plan C is being worked up — offer will be put to NS / Tartan Tories.
Home Rule / FFA and then some if NS keeps Dave-the-Rave in No.10.
Desperate stuff — barely credible to my ears — but some of the more perceptive Nats have picked up on this and are a wee bit worried.
Consequently we live in interesting times.
The current Establishment are worried.
Milli-E was not supposed to get this close.
Exit Poll will start to tell the story and point to where we are heading.
Dallas – September I think. In my head it was the winter but thinking about it the LC used to be done and dusted by the autumn!
Ryan’s Dunkey: happy birthday

Shave 5 of the lib dems and 2 off labour, add to SNP and voila my prediction

A question for the nats.
If we end up with a Tory government, how will you feel?
Anyone else remember us beating Aberdeen at a peeing doon Dens park about 86/87?I was in the cow shed across from the main stand, sitting on a bench getting absolutely soaked.Chocy scored and we won 1-0.
Did Jim Melrose and Rambo play up front together for us . Seem to remember a game at Celtic Park against Aberdeen where one of them got the winner
Sept 4th 1985 lost on pens
Sept 7th 1985 hibs 0 Celtic 5

I was at Easter road at the 4-4, 3-3 after 90 mins, knocked out in the penalty shoot out but what a magic game. Used to be able to roll up on the night and pay at the turnstiles in those days too.
Ah, nostalgia, the good ole days.
Days of Peter Grant, Willie McStay

2 reasons. Actually 3.
I thought there was a pretty broad consensus on here not to be fighting about politics today.
I haven’t noticed ‘snp triumphalism’ on here tonight. Have you?
Three, i absolutely respect you and the many others who voted No and dislike the snp. I don’t term you all deluded and other pejorative terms like Ernie does.
And no, I’m not an snp fan myself.

That was the second replay after the first two games, at Parkhead and Pittodrie, had both ended up in draws.
Gcw – aye sept. I wasn’t too old! Real treat getting to a midweek game….

What Final, what competition?
Keep the Faith!
Hail Hail!
Robert Tressell, you’re right, the league cup final was played in late November/early Devember in the early to mid eighties, so you are bang on.
In a way I miss the old League Cup Sections that were played prior to the league season starting. It was a good way to get up to match speed and you would get to grounds that you wouldn’t nornally get to. It was also a way of introducing younger squad players to top team competitive games.
ernie, You are talking pish, if UK ends up with Tory Government its because Labour failed to convince the Electorate to support them. No one else is to blame but Labour. People are entitled to vote for who they like, its called democracy.

Vindicated
I voted yes, if we get the Tories again tomorrow look in the mirror
SFTB,
I have read previously 3/4 years ago that Jim Melrose was either scouting or acting as an agent.
The fact he was a poor player for us, doesn’t reflect on his talent spotting ability or inability.
On a similar theme, i think David Fernandez is now a scout for Man City
Bada,
I’m still not sure what you mean neebs.
What final v Sevco?
HH
Who were our U/20`s playing tonight and what was the final score?
