Rosenborg call for ex-Aruba boss, SFA “must” refer to CAS

964

Rosenborg went five years without winning the Norwegian title before Kare Ingebrigtsen turned things around.  Under him, they were champions the last three seasons – back on the pertch.  A mere two points off the pace, having scraped a win against Valur, he was sacked, just six days before his former team face Celtic.

It seems harsh.  This is a club burdened by their Champions League history.  Until 2004, when money replaced meritocracy, they held the record for the number of consecutive appearances in the group stage (8).  But they never turned the lights off.  They see clubs from other small nations reach the group stage of the Europa League and, to a lesser extent, the Champions League, and know they could do the same.

If they thought Ingebrigtsen’s team would have beaten Celtic he would still be in a job.  Instead, they have thrown the dice in the hope of giving players an edge.  The new interim boss’s only managerial gig in the last seven years was six weeks in charge of the Aruba national team.  Since then he’s kicked around as a youth coach and been an assistant in Dubai.  It’s a strange one.

Sacking a manager often leads to a short-term boost in results, which is all that is required for European qualification.  Expect this tie to be competitive.  That’s good, I prefer Celtic to play in games with a visible edge, than against unknowns with fire in their belly.  Cool heads will be needed.  On that subject, we’ll discuss Jozo later.

Newco, having successfully argued the SFA should refer the matter of Rangers’ eligibility for Uefa competition in 2011 to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), now request the SFA do not take the matter to CAS.  It’s a kind of Newco logic; any victory in a storm.

They argue this procedural guidance establishes the complaint has no merit, whereas the SFA Judicial Panel Disciplinary Tribunal did not address the complaint, only their competency to examine it.

The Judicial Panel ruled “the Notice of Complaint must be determined by the Court of Arbitration for Sport.”  The word “must” has been overlooked by Newco.  The SFA must act accordingly.  Taking the whole thing to Lausanne will make sure we don’t need to go through another round of “Who are these people” type witch-hunts.  I know what you are thinking, Dave King has been making friend with the SFA on a weekly basis for months now, surely they will do his bidding.

I’m not sure Dave’s that clever.

My daughter has no interest in football (probably just to annoy me) but I can assure you one thing Celtic & football are way, way down the list of priorities in my life/family … football, sport and in most avenues where people can become rich have no morals at all…. so I can assure you my child (and if I have any more) will not be relying on anything to do with sport as their virtues

I love Celtic but Celtic is never the be all and end all in my life… life is far too short… but I would definitely buy that book and I hope you write it… because that’s got heehaw to do with Celtic the matter how much you try to blame them :-)

Celtic is the beaten wife that needs the money. The huns are the abusive husband and the rest of Scottish Football are the bigoted in-laws. There. is that analogy simple enough for yeez?

    ====================

Its simple but clearly inaccurate. Since the abusive husband went into decline by poor gambling, the beaten wifes money supply has grown by what? Five fold?

The blue pound model burst the blue pounders to Celtic’s benefit (and I appreciate I’m challenging a family belief but yer bro was looking good last Saturday until he went to the game but he seems as right as he will ever be. ;)

    Whit ?

No reply to my response to your post

    Just decades of bigotry ?

  4. Auldheid

Its as accurate as the Old Firm.

The abusive husband is on a bit of a downer these days because he canny use his credit card anymore but he’ll be back to kick the &^%$ oot of her soon enough.

Aye I talked to him yesterday.

  5. Celtarella I have often thought of that analogy. It’s certainly an unhealthy and abusive relationship. But as we all know living in fear isn’t living. Appeasing is dying.

Auldheid. I do understand the point. Perhaps the slaves in the south of the US had the same love of their masters. But eventually even they saw that they had to force reform.

If you knew your best friends girlfriend was cheating on them would you tell him?

  6. NA2

This is where I am torn.

I love Celtic but I have not an ounce of affection for those who run the club, they know that we will weigh in, be it season books, merchandise and the like, it’s fine just now for them cos we are on the upward curve, it won’t always be so, the world and football goes in cycles.

Problem is what is the answer ??????

    Devils advocate here……

I am 100% sure we as a club could expose the sfa, the spl, the huns for what has gone down, the suits know fine well what has happened, I would be mightily miffed if they didn’t, we know so they have to know.

In a way I understand why they are saying feck all, in the same breath I am stunned at their silence, by their silence they are actually breaking the law, they know that a fraud is taking place and they are not speaking out to protect their shareholders, it’s quite simple really, they seem to be torn, they have obviously decided that playing the game in a hostile country and keeping a silence is the best policy and feck the consequences, till the consequences of their silence bites them on the erse, then as has been sid many’s a time will be to fecking late

If we want justice, IMO, the best way to get it is on the field, sort the referees and it will be sorted, they will never in a month of sundays get near us, they have cheated from their inception, they have had the suits and the referees onside for well over 100 years and look at where they are now, the sure way to keep them there is honest referees, it’s really is that simple, this again IMO is where the club should be directing their ire, they can cheat to their sectarian heats content off the field, it will make not a jot of difference if we have a level playing field on it.

Just my humble opinion for what it’s worth, cos we both know that as long as we are in scotland we will always be at the back of the bus, always, to think otherwise is deluding yourself.

  7. Celtic became the greatest football club in the world in spite of Scotland and the SFA. Hh

  8. What is the Stars on

Once we skelp ‘them’ regularly most of us will be happy.

Of course Rangers shouldn’t exist anymore. Ibrox should have been sold to pay the creditors (that’s what would have happened to Parkhead if it was Celtic )

But here we are, life goes on. Regular skelping will do for me

  9. Auldheid.

Thanks for the links and info from the SFM .

The example of the car is simplistic but perfect.

    The glaring question remains.

Will Celtic point out the inconsistencies to the “governing body” ?

    Gerry.

Celtic certainly means different things to many.

Personally, I love going to games & mixing with like minded Tims .

I know for a fact that I’ve paid into a sport that I’m emotionally

and financially committed to. I know that I’ve been ripped off.

I know that Celtic and all clubs bar one have been cheated.

Winning trebles doesn’t change it .

Being silent is now proving to be complicit or utterly useless.

Something needs to change or watching games on TV or in the

boozer with my mates that don’t go ,will be my commitment.

Some form of Rangers will win the league again sometime.

When its declared as number 55 , they’ve won more than another

title. They will have proven that the cheats prosper .

  10. Gerry sadly your daughter will be impacted because Scottish societies sickness will be unchecked and it makes us all the poorer (it’s not just about football).

As for my book it will show the relationship between so called football clubs and wider society is correlated but perhaps more sha, fully how the champions of the racist victims in Scotland were actually contributing to the racism and prolonging it for their 20 pieces of silver…..

  11. Scottish Football has been bent/corrupt/rigged for many years, choose whatever word you please. Despite recent hopes we were moving in a different direction, it’s looking like more of the same. I don’t blame Celtic for this.

The question for me as a ST holder is how far are Celtic willing to go to change this? In the past we could have done more, perhaps we weren’t paying enough attention or maybe we looked the other way as things were unfolding. If we look the other way as the latest fudge unfolds, personally i will feel badly let down. It wont stop me supporting Celtic though.

  12. It took us a long time to bury the old club.

The new entity could be eradicated in a year or two, if the current custodians of Celtic so wished.

I’m beginning to doubt that they intend to put Sevco to sleep, sorry to say.

    HH. ?

  13. Sadly we live in a country with a kiddy on government in a toy town parliament that acquiesces to the worst elements of our society. Ergo more Orange walks coming to a town near you soon. Hh

  14. TET really. The referees?

They are appointed by the sfa. Who are run by sevco, who are overseen by Scottish racists institutions.

They are so far down the packing order. They do as they are told.

I have met a few junior referees. Huns each and every one of them.

Worse they are acolytes. Blue eyed aryans of the cause.

Who else would the sfa pick.

We can’t wi this on the field. They simply won’t let us.

They are the master race. We aren’t human.

That’s the way it is for Scotland.

  15. Well Gerry they are nothing but the sheep and cows in the field. Happy to wait for their slaughter.

Auldheid I think it’s time we had that beer.

The one thing I wouldn’t accuse the Celtic board of is stupidity. They are up to their necks in this stuff and Paul just plays a fiddle for them.

There is no evidence that Celtic haven’t been outflanking it’s own support. Carefully constructed and released email trails do not constitute evidence.

I think you and the others have been an admiral Thorne in the side of a corrupt organisation and country. But the thing that really kills you is when those who you believe you are fighting for,are shoving the Thorne in you/our side.

    ==================

You really want to talk to BRTH and I on that one. How daft do you think we are? Who put the thorn in their side and has kept it there since 2013 and why was it done?

As Sancho Panza said to me once, “They don’t know how to deal with us.” When Celtic haven’t acted we didn’t strop off, we acted.

As I said i look at the evidence and those email/letters you dismiss suggest to me that you might be missing an alternative point which is Celtic are running into the very thing you rail against – racism (to use your words) and indicate a failure to recognize that Celtic face that same problem when they make points that if made in England would have had a totally different response.

Is it all Celtic’s fault they are not as powerful to effect the social change you and I would like to happen?

  18. NA2

You are obviously missing the point completly.

Yes the referees, they are the key to honesty and transparency, sort them and it’s sorted.

During the huns niar, the smsm were all there is no competition in scotland and that’s how the huns were papped out of europe each season, when in reality they were papped out of europe because there was honest and fair referees in charge of their games.

The club could force if they so wished that we had an open and transparent refereeing system in place if they so wished, they obviously choose not to or it would have been done before now.

We are just gonna have to accept where we are in sectarian land.

My hope of change rests with 4 guys who post on CQN. Having shared time & a bevy with a couple of them I know that they’re genuine. 31. This talk about CAS is nonsense, it’s a smoke screen. Even if the SFA take it to CAS they will lose because they’ve tied themselves in knots in the 5 way agreement.

What i want Celtic to do now is call this fraud out. The SFA have failed to properly deal with the license issue to the extent that they haven’t properly dealt with the evidence relating to the granting of the license, instead focusing on the monitoring period. That would need to go to CAS as well but why was the granting excluded. Overall this is unacceptable given what is known.

I suggested on here months ago that the evidence should be handed to the City of London police. This should be done and i assume the Res12 guys can do this too.

Celtic asked for a review and didn’t get it. Instead the SFA threw us the bone that was the license issue. What i want Celtic to do now is call out the SFA for what they are, incompetent and corrupt, in a formal manner. Carefully worded but properly done and hitting the target. Maxwell may be new but he’s looking like a chip off the old block.

Standing up for the supporters and protecting the shareholders is the minimum we should expect. If this upsets some people and ruffles some feathers then so be it. It’s no good wanting to get along with everyone when we are being cheated.
