Season will be a battle from now on

143

For the top half of the table, post-split competitive action is mostly concentrated on Celtic and Newco, for the top spot, and the battle between St Mirren and Dundee for fifth place and European football.

Hearts are marooned (get it), 13 points from second and nine ahead of fourth placed Kilmarnock.  Killie have an eight-point lead over St Mirren, who hold only a two point advantage over Dundee.

St Mirren are up first on Sunday, hosting Newco.  Dundee will know that result before they take the field against Celtic at Dens.  We can get lost in our own worlds but you can expect St Mirren or Dundee to have another say in the outcome at the top of the table before the season ends.  The rest of the season is going to be a battle.

Your memory is affected by too much alcohol. Moderation in all things young fella. You know it makes sense.

  2. Evening, all.

Glad to see the majority are supportive of Maeda, with all his faults. We obviously agree with the two Celtic managers who have been at Parkhead while he has been here.

  3. !!Bada Bing!! on

You see the difference in the tempo of the team ,when Maeda isn’t playing, he’s got his faults but he’s a first pick for me.

  4. Talking of military horses; for some reason, i was reading about the charge of the light brigade recently.

Anyway, weird that 3 types of clothing are named after the Crimean War: – cardigan (as worn by officers and Cardigan got the hero status in the gentlemen’s clubs back home), balaclava (as worn by the men) and the Raglan sleeve (as worn by Lord Raglan) who had lost an arm and the cut was more suited to this

    Dundee 0 Celtic 3

  5. If the construction workers who spooked the horses in Belgravia were in fact throwing concrete rubble from on high into a skip at street level, they are in serious trouble. That is totally illegal, and they can expect a Police and HSE investigation. As can their site manager, employers, skip company, property owner etc.

    Every rule in the book…..

  6. As for Maeda being possibly fit and able for at least part of the run-in that can only be good for Celtic.

The more players fit and available the better.

  7. Back to Basics - Glass Half Full on

Good to hear the horses are getting the very best medical treatment including timely surgical operations.

Now if only we can take that model and apply it to humans.

    🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔

  9. Back to Basics - Glass Half Full on

An T – thank you for earlier name drop re Lee Congerton and Atalanta ….

… but you give me way too much credit.

All I did was check his Sporting Director / Head of Recruitment employment history on Wikipedia.

6 jobs in 13 years. One every 26 months.

In some trades that is unremarkable.

I’d expect a Head of Recruitment to devise and implement a strategy in line with a club’s philosophy and then oversee a conveyor belt of incoming talent.

I’d ignorantly speculate that is 3-4 years work?

So tenures of two years and change, plus his willingness to hop countries?

    Suggests something to me.

As for the Peter Lawwell comment?

    Might very well be accurate.

But to quote the clichéd method actor

    “What’s my motivation?”

Pantomime villain to use as a deflection.

Knowing MSM will be fully receptive.

    “Dug ate my homework” stuff

Sealed the deal with the “broken clock is right twice a day” defence … name dropping two guys he was interested in who now play in the EPL.

Goal of the season suggestions anyone?

    Can’t think of any myself

O’Riley penalty at Poundland for me

  13. lets all do the huddle on

    that 3rd goal 🤦🏻‍♂️

after how many passes to each other inside their own box do the defence and goalkeeper need to just get away with before one of them decides it isnt working and just punts it.

the answer must be over 100. that was rank.

the punt up the park is so under-rated these days!

O’Riley penalty at Poundland for me

have to say, as much as it looked great and was a pish take…

    i dont like them.

you are giving the keeper a pretty good chance of saving them.

i much prefer the ‘rattlle it hard towards the corner’ style.

take the keeper out the game.

which is why i had no problem with Joes penalty last week

    even though he missed 🙄

A pleasure. Your Dad is a lovely chap. Get yourself up to Glasgow when you are able and enjoy the company at the Shipbank. A warm welcome awaits and if you are unlucky enough you will hear Big Jimmy and BelmontBrian telling stories and jokes. 🙄

Agree – not even close for me.

There’s an angle from behind the goal that shows him striking through it with both feet off the ground.

It’s a thing of absolute beauty.
