News that Dundee United will vote against allocating a place in next season’s SPL to Sevco confirms what we suggested yesterday, that sentiment has swung against the notion. Motherwell’s innovative idea of allowing fans (who have already expressed overwhelming opposition to the idea) a vote is further evidence that even hard-pressed clubs are prepared to make financially difficult decisions. Suggestions that the Motherwell board should grow a pair and take responsibility themselves have some merit.
Stewart Milne has denied BBC reports that Aberdeen have decided to vote against but I expect this is a matter of due process more than any genuine indecision.
There was a feeling this morning that matters could be brought to a head sooner than 4 July if enough clubs publicly declared against Sevco. This would suit Charles Green’s company as they would be able to prepare offers to Rangers players (who they are able to sign) knowing where they are likely to end up. If they are forced to wait until 4 July, Sevco will not know what squad requirements they will need for next season before making a decision on what Rangers players to offer employment to.
More than SPL football, Sevco need clarity. A rush to declare against them might seem harsh but it would be enormously beneficial rather than being forced to wait a further 12 days.

I’m getting sick of this shi**e with our governing body, apply the rules and stop trying to suit 1 team.
In any other country they wouldn’t be contemplating bending the rules for tax cheats, only in this great wee country.

I know a lot of people think otherwise – but Motherwell fans will tell the club to vote ‘No’.

Rangers crisis: Judge orders inquiry into club’s administrators
Duff and Phelps have denied allegations that they had a ‘conflict of interest’ in appointment.
22 June 2012 11:59
Rangers: Duff and Phelps have denied the allegations.
A judge has ordered an inquiry into allegations against the administrators who took over crisis-hit Rangers.
Duff and Phelps were formally appointed to the Ibrox club on February 14, owing HM Revenue and Customs £14m.
At the Court of Session in Edinburgh on Friday, Lord Hodge, referred to a BBC television programme alleging the firm had a “conflict of interest” in their role and called for a full report.
He said he took no view about what the BBC had said, but wanted to know whether the insolvency firm had obtained and acted on legal advice on the question of conflict of interest.
Lord Hodge said he had done nothing until now because he did not want to hinder the process of Rangers going into liquidation.
He told the accountants’ lawyers: “There is considerable public interest in this jurisdiction in relation to the administration.
“I do not want the administration to come to an end without having received that report.”

I remember sky/espn stipulated in the last contract there must be a minimum of 4 old firm games per season.
Was this contract officially “ripped up”?
If not, and SKY are saying they’d be ok with no Rangers in the SPL for a year, would we not still be entitled to the TV money?
—————–
How can they even begin to think like this? No TV , not in the league, haven’t seen the contract but they still expect money.

Administration Statement
Fri, Jun 22, 2012
DUFF and Phelps, the administrators of Rangers Football Club plc, today issued the following statement.
David Whitehouse, joint administrator, said: “We welcome the decision by Lord Hodge today.
“Producing this report for Lord Hodge will give us an opportunity to demonstrate that the allegation of conflict of interest by the BBC was wrong and grossly irresponsible.
“We have a well-established conflict checking procedure which was fully ahered to and there was no reason for us not to accept the role as administrators.
“It should be remembered that HMRC withdrew their application to appoint administrators to enable us to do the job. We maintain there is no conflict of interest.
“Since the BBC documentary we have met Mr Roger Isaacs who appeared on the programme and was asked for his professional opinion as a forensic accountant.
“Mr Isaacs informed us that he was not shown relevant documentation by the BBC and now, having reviewed the documentation, has told us that he is satisfied that our firm did not have knowledge of Ticketus funding being used to acquire Rangers in 2011, prior to the transaction being completed.
“We are also cooperating fully with the investigation announced by the Insolvency Practitioners Association and we look forward to that inquiry been concluded as soon as possible.
“We have also referred the BBC allegations to our solicitors.

Leopards never change their spots!
They want a side letter (EBT) from Sky now!
No matter what happens it sounds as if most Scottish football punters of any description now realize that neither the SFA nor SFL are fit nor honorable custodians of Scottish football and will vote with their feet.

I posted a similar thought yesterday on RTC.
I received a reply along the lines of, “nothing to worry about, as it is reasonable to expect that the fans should have as much information as possible, re the financial effects of Them being in or out.”

So they’re having a meeting next week, before the vote date, to DISCUSS the implications of a ‘no’ vote ……… LOL ……they are going to try to INFLUENCE the vote, now that clubs have publicly announced how they will vote……you could not make this up ….!!!!!
The fans have spoken…….listen, fools…….any meeting to discuss the implications of the vote result should be after the vote…….

I remain pleased as punch at the demise of the evil ones – as I have said many times I am so pleased to live in these days.
However I do have a somewhat serious question. Why havent Celtic declared how they will vote now? Given what is going on why not declare?
Makes you wonder?

There is little to be gained from Celtic making a statement but plenty to lose.
