SFA finally acknowledge Rangers EBT issue

1494

Stewart Regan today gave a welcome update on the SFA’s on-going investigation into Rangers.  In response to Hugh Adam’s comments in today’s Daily Mail, Regan said:

“We are, however, aware of the most recent allegations made against Rangers FC today by a former director of the club. We shall investigate this matter thoroughly before making any further comment.”

SFA president, Campell Ogilvie, was general secretary and director of Rangers from 1978 until 2005. News broke about HMRC’s dispute over Rangers Employment Benefit Trust in 2010, you knew then, I knew then, the SFA knew then, but Ogilvie was subsequently elevated to the role of SFA president in 2011.  He is still on the SFA board.

We have waited almost two years the hear the SFA would investigate this matter. Now, with all the old certainties crumbling down around them, they realise they must act.

Can I be the first to congratulate Dundee FC on winning the Scottish Cup in 2003.

What the press pack are not telling us is that Rangers players are threatening to sue their own club. They want deferral of wages not a cut.

D&P on advice from Police/SFA/Sally/SPL are deliberately holding back on sackings to ensure that we cant win the league at the bigot dome. They need to drop another 2 points before we meet – anybody else think this or am I paranoid?

  4. Kayal33 @ 13:50,

Indeed. And if I was a Dunfermline player struggling to pay the bills I would be very unhappy to see the huns continue to pay their players with money that should have come to my club.

  6. Could Eufa fling Scottish football out of all competitions because of the actions of Sfa and *angers?

Or because of the cheating would eufa sanction Celtic an opportunity to leave the Scottish scene?

  7. Just think the administrators for RFC have paid Alan McGregor more since entering administration than the whole of the Dunfermline squad would get in a week, even if they were paid 100% of their salary.

surely by sacking 11 first teamers would make it likely they would drop at least 2 points tomorrow against the minis?

Thats exactly what im saying – they are not sacking players to give them the best chance not to drop points.

  9. Come Monday there will be a few hurting ex Rangers players ready to take the medias coin and spill the beans.Interestingly the scramble is on for the media to sign up the players.I wonder if they will give them two contracts naw better make it one just in case

  10. Looks like Swally has managed to convince the players to have one last hurrah tomorrow in front of the hordes.

I suspect the axe has already fallen. Be interesting to see who actually plays though. Anyone who is not a Rangers supporter would probably just not bother.

As far as I understand it A Salmond’s very public intervention could be interpreted by FIFA and could eventually lead to Celtic and all other Scottish clubs being basnned from European competitions.

Is there not a FIFA or UEFA rule that players whose transfer fees haven’t been paid are ineligble to play? Or is that part of the new FFP rules??

It looks as though the short term objective of the Administrators is to field the strongest eleven the can for the home match against Heart of Midlothian in order to secure some funds from a decent gate.It is likely that some redundancies will take place on Sunday or Monday but the scale of these redundancies has now been put firmly in the hands of Fat Sleekit Ally and his players they have to inform the administrators of there decision no later than Monday.H.H.

ET now reporting no announcement expected until next week, slippery squirming sleekit snakes are trying to weasel there way out of this, lets face it, they have so many cronies infiltrated throughout Scottish football they’ll still be thinking they’ll still be thinking they can find a way to get out this mess.

    Afternoon,all.

Sharing a place as I do with my best bud-a rabid hun, veteran of the Loudon,Bristol,etc-I have been loathe to comment too much about current goings-on as I don’t want to be seen as gloating.

    To him,that is!

That’s the kind of guy I am,I don’t want to hammer my mates when they’re hurting. It could be us,after all.

Apart from an accident of birth, haha!

Point is,for YEARS he’s beeen saying the usual-talking pash, never happen,WATP,loadsaberrs wi money to help us oot, etc.

Acceptance is finally arriving for him,and all without the intervening stages, and he has one final concern.

And I’m not making this up….

You lot had better watch out on the 25th,winding us up wi yer party hats and a’ that is joost gonna, erm, wind us up.

We’ll outnumber ye 6-1,and we can only afford two coppers tae keep the peace!

He has a point, lads. Be careful.

THEY ARE HURTING,AND THEY ARE DANGEROUS.

  22. I would prefer if, the administrators ensured that the strongest possible hun team was available for – Ice cream sundea :0)))

P.S. On that subject, one of my managers who is a hun SB holder in the Govan stand, told me yesterday that he will not be attending on, ice cream sundea as, he suspects violence from the hun support!

Have they allocated tickets to Chelsea fans again?

  24. FF are desperately clinging to the hope one of these consortiums are going to step forward before the 16th, do a deal with the administrators, do a deal with HMRC and save their history. Why would ANYONE step in now, spend anything between £50 and £100m, and only have a loss making business with major major governance issues looming on the horizon? Issues that may make that £75m tax bill seem like pocket money. Especially when the same group could pick the carcass for a fraction of that money.

The bears need to prepare themselves for jellymageddon. It has been the plan since day 1 and now there is not a thing that can be done to stop it.

  25. Someone called SSB yesterday and mentioned the same thing about a threat of violence at the game at Snake Mountain, if their going to go out let them go out showing the world what they really are a shower of humourless, violent knuckle draggers. Oh to be back on duty in Glasgow with my officer safety equipment that day!!!

So Rangers are cheats, and Duff & Phelps won’t sack anyone. Whatever. Nothing’s gonnae stop me naming a Celtic XI for tomorrow:

KevJungle. If the administrators can actually get the 3.6 Million that is left in Whytes Solicitors care from the ticketus deal you will get your wish ans they will field there strongest team against us.If the administrator cant get his hands on these funds it will depend on what the current payers vote for re-cuts on what team they can field. On your warning about possible violence at Ibrokes when we visit I think its more than likely so we have to take care.H.H.
