SHOCKER! SIMUNOVIC FACES BAN

JOZO SIMUNOVIC will discover tomorrow afternoon if he faces action over an aerial challenge on Hibs striker Oli Shaw in Celtic’s 2-0 win last night.

The Easter Road attacker clashed with the Croatian central defender just before half-time and was replaced at the interval by Marc McNulty.

Referee Craig Thomson took no action at the incident, but the Edinburgh club’s caretaker boss Eddie May was critical of Simunovic after the game, claiming it was a “pretty poor challenge”.

The SFA compliance officer is now set to look at the incident with a decision on the Hoops centre-back expected by 3pm.

If retrospective action is taken, Simunovic could miss Sunday’s Scottish Cup clash with St Johnstone at Parkhead.

Celtic gaffer Brendan Rodgers also branded a wayward challenge by Hibs substitute Darnell Johnson on Emilio Izaguirre as “clumsy” late in the game.

The Honduran left-back was left writhing in agony before being stretchered off.
