Six days out and a mountain to climb

1664

Over the last few days we have worked with Mary’s Meals to identify a second school without basic facilities in one of the most deprived areas of the world.  We have confirmed St Josephs’ Primary School in Kasungu, Malawi (the 17th poorest country in the world), which has a roll of 746 pupils and no facilities to provide food, meaning many children have to work to feed themselves instead of being educated.

The necessary permissions have been confirmed, and Mary’s Meals can send resources there as soon as money is available.  If we are successful, St Joseph’s will get a brick-built kitchen which will double as a classroom with stoves, pots, utensils, spoons and mugs.  As a result, kids will attend school to get what on many occasions will be their only meal of the day.  They will also get an education and better chances in later life.

The cost of the kitchen is £7000.  We are only six days out from CQteN so we shouldn’t expect miracles but we’ll be here until the job is done.

Construction is underway at our first school at the Kholoni Primary School in Mchinji, Malawi, which has a school roll of 1221 children.

We have a donations page for CQN Mary’s Meals’ projects, if you would like to help out, you can do so here.

Seville, The Celtic Movement, launches this month.

“There were 10 in our party and collecting the tickets took priority. Once we had them we could afford time to eat, but what? Several restaurants were sold out but we eventually found a café with frozen chips and a meat-based slab of something or other. No choices. No beer, wine or cola either, it was diluting orange juice or water. An entire city was pretty much emptied of food and drink.”

Aye eglinton is seen as a wee middle class unionist village and in many ways it is (complete with cricket pitch and orange hall)

Dunno if u noticed theres also a masonic hall in Campsie

I have to say in the last few years you are more likely to see a gaa jersey than a sevco top around the village seems we are ‘out breeding’ them haha

Well if that was the highlights I’m glad I didn’t see the rest. Mid-table team next season.

Did anyone see the Sheffield United supporter holding up his young son on BBC news? The ghuy is wearing a Celtic scarf.

  5. Haven’t seen thems goal yet but if anything good can be taken from yet another club being cheated is that these teams are really getting to see the cheating first hand.

Turns out paranoia was some Scottish urban myth after all.

Feel really sad for Albion Rovers for being latest club to be deprived of their moment.

There was no Armageddon after all and quite the opposite for a lot of clubs…..its as if a big dark cloud has been blown away and the sun is shining on them again.

The determination is strong to get that cloud back where they perceive it to belong, but ffs…….needing to cheat a club like that?

    Shameful.

Hates not nice but how can something manage to make you hate it even more?

I guess the lower it goes eh?

Had a few young sevconians behind me on the bus a month or so ago and they were discussing the fitba.

One of them had got a partial season ticket for a christmas pressy but said he tried to return it but couldn’t.

Only goes to see the “big” games like Dunfermline because its awful watching them.

    That is what they are.

There’s another urban myth on the go and that is that they are significant.

Easy teamtalk for James Ward in the replay to me……send those boys back out with that sense of victimisation burning in them and have them desperate to fight again to win that semi place.

His biggest problem should probably be cooling them down.

Will reply tomorow as I’m away to bed mate, but the fact that you have approached a venue that is out of the price range of many of our support says much about how our core support is viewed by those in positions of influence

  16. So… just watched that goal by Sevco…. in ANY OTHER GAME ON THE FRIGGIN PLANET…. thats a foul on the keeper. Funny how you still get some apologists saying “its a difficult one”…. yes, difficult to get your lodge membership retained if you don’t give the goal. Bright side is that Sleekit is still in there, hanging on. If they get their penalty in the replay and move on, he came claim that the Arabs are a top, top side after they are humped; and he can also point out the “lack of atmosphere” due to no Sevco fans being in attendance, because, as someone mentioned earlier, they are boycotting matches against Dundee United. Of course that would be the only dignified stance they could take.

  17. Can someone remind me who the other dick on beeb along with oor pat. Know his face canny put a name to it. :-))

Sorry, but it says nothing of the sort in my opinion.

We have approached the Pavillion because they were already putting on the Roper production. The approach is designed to raise the profile of CQN and what it does, and to highlight that while they are putting on a production that centres on Seville we are producing a book which features the tales of many fans who did or did not make it to the final.

” but the fact that you have approached a venue that is out of the price range of many of our support says much about how our core support is viewed by those in positions of influence”

If that comment is aimed at me — I am sorry but you had better explain how I see the core support because sorry that is a comment that no fair minded individual would allow to pass.

It’s a dump mate and don’t think it holds much, Hamilton will hold more so more cash for rovers, the Huns don’t play well on AstroTurf ( or grass for that matter) so might suit rovers HH

It also gives them a chance for another world record and to outdo an SPL club by ripping out more seats than Motherwell did.
