SPANISH EYES ON SCEPOVIC

CELTIC’S struggling striker Stefan Scepovic is attracting interest from three Spanish clubs.
The Serbian hitman netted 23 goals for Sporting Gijon in Spain’s second tier in the 2013/14 campaign which attracted the attention of Ronny Deila.
He became the Hoops’ most expensive signing of the season at £2.3million – £300,000 more than the joint fee to bring Gary Mackay-Steven and Stuart Armstrong from Dundee United to the champions in January.
But Scepovic has failed to hold down a regular first team spot at the club and dropped down the pecking order when Nadir Ciftci was brought in from the Tannadice side for £1.3million last month.
He has scored only six goals in his 25 appearances, 17 from the substitutes’ bench.
However, the misfiring frontman’s situation has been noted in Spain, where his stock is still high.

Real Valladolid have already expressed an interest while Getafe and his former club Sporting Gijon are watching possible developments.

A move to either Getafe or Sporting would allow Scepovic to play in La Liga, with Valladolid in the second division.
