The new SPFL board yesterday agreed that some sort of review should take place into the debacle which saw Rangers collapse into liquidation. While this is welcome as far as it goes, its scope will necessarily be bound by what the SPFL previously agreed to bind itself to. This was clear from the off, which I alluded to at the time.
If you contractually agree to limit your future actions for all purposes, you tie your own hands. This is where the SPFL are now and it is the reason we must look beyond them. The actions of those who tied their own hands are just as important as matters pertaining to the integrity of Scottish football’s competitions (the Scottish Cup and SFL League Cup, as well as the SPL).
The SPFL are not the only ones who are looking into this matter. They know to expect challenges during the course of the next two months.

Dermot Desmond famously doesn’t like to give interviews.
His secretary apparently responds to enquiries with..
“Mr Desmond has no comment to make about anything…Ever.”
I believe that on the 3rd of October 2012 Mr Desmond broke his Cardinal Rule about interviews and he revealed his thinking (especially the part about other clubs). Maybe PL is stuck trying to reconcile the deficiencies of the SFA/SPFL and keep some semblance of commercial credibility together?
It would be interesting to know if Celtic voted for Robertson at the SPFL?
Hopefully DD changed his mind after the Semi Final with Sevco?
In Dermot’s world however, ‘Money Talks.’…I think it can all be traced back to this statement…

Rangers is a fantastic football club
And he would have relished the continued domestic competition with Rangers at a time when he believes manager Neil Lennon has created a particularly strong squad.
“Rangers is a great football club, it has a great history and it’s unfortunate that they have been relegated,” said the Irish businessman.
“We would certainly like to contest with them every week – we believe we’ve got a better team and a better management structure.”
Celtic Plc cannot behave as they are operating in the 1950s.
The problem is the Sevco mob hate Celtic and they can’t be trusted. Dermot doesn’t really get how ingrained the bigotry is. The ROI is a completely different place not perfect but different.

Let me get this straight.
Fans have been lied to, abused, screwed, pissed on and ignored.
Clubs didn’t only ignore this, they are the ones presently zipping up their flies.
Boycotting and taking money from the clubs is evil and wrong.
But hey, let’s get FANS to challenge this in court, with THEIR money whilst they CONTINUE giving money to the clubs who did it in the first place.

The solution is simple, it’s always been simple; those who care will STOP funding the people who did it.
