SPFL review but know to expect further challenges

1294

The new SPFL board yesterday agreed that some sort of review should take place into the debacle which saw Rangers collapse into liquidation. While this is welcome as far as it goes, its scope will necessarily be bound by what the SPFL previously agreed to bind itself to.  This was clear from the off, which I alluded to at the time.

If you contractually agree to limit your future actions for all purposes, you tie your own hands. This is where the SPFL are now and it is the reason we must look beyond them. The actions of those who tied their own hands are just as important as matters pertaining to the integrity of Scottish football’s competitions (the Scottish Cup and SFL League Cup, as well as the SPL).

The SPFL are not the only ones who are looking into this matter. They know to expect challenges during the course of the next two months.

Why isnt everybody as angry as i am?

Thats what i want to know.

Ive already pointed out how there would be no Celtic CL game tonight, if Celtic supporters had not got rid of the last board of charlatans.

People have very short memories indeed. ‘The game is over, the rebels have won’, Remember that?

I said the other day, that my reasoning is sound, and it is. ‘Who in their right mind, would allow themselves to be cheated? Seriously!

Imo, If posters dont care about things like cheating, they need therapy.

Its not me thats has lost the plot, im totally rational. I know what is right and what is wrong.

Business A does pay national taxes

Business B does not pay national taxes

Which of these businesses have an advantage?

    Professional football clubs are businesses

They are businesses primarily involved in the business of football

Last time I looked football was a sport

Therefore one could logically assume there is a sporting advantage if a business that plays football as a means to do business does not pay its required by law taxes.

The SFA and SPFL can smoke and mirror this one as much as they want with their QC opinions but all that is needed is a QC with an opposite opinion to ask the questions that were never asked at the LNS fudge.

There was a sporting advantage get the fans together raise the funds and take them on.

    They will lose.

I see that the SPFL verdict as announced on Rangers Media on Monday the 24th of July from 1pm was confirmed today by the SPFL.

Fair play to Rangers for keeping us posted with the developments.

No doubt whatever review that’s coming will be of the Sir Humphrey Appleby variety.

For this who missed Monday’s SPFL announcement on Rangers Media, here goes.

Mate, I agree with a some of what you say and admire your tenacity and perseverance. Can I offer a suggestion, I hope you will take it in the spirit intended. Switch of your computer and go and do something else for a good few hours. This will all still be here when you get back and I guarantee you’ll feel better for it.

Im not missing any point at all.

I see what is going on.

Its other people who dont seem to be getting it.

As far as im concerned, my identity is under attack, and there is no way in this world or the next, that im going to accept the PLC allowing Celtic to be cheated.

    No Way.

    Its not happening.

They current PLC will go the same way as the biscuit tin mob did.

Its a bad day when you dont trust the Celtic board, but then again, they have given us plenty of cause.

Nobody, not even Peter Lawell, is bigger than Celtic.

Celtic are in the heart and soul, and not something you can allow idiots to destroy.

I hope the Celtic support rise up against this, i will be there right with my family and friends.

I know you think ive lost the plot, but, far from it.

Auldheid…I was in AGM when they basically sidelined res12. i just shook my head and sighed as it is oldest trick in the book..saying thyey were in discussions.. well that is one hell of a discussion.. And I mean no offence to you and rest of guys.. But it is celtic who were robbed of money by sfa..they should have been doing it.

    ===================================

    See my response to BRTH.

The alternative to an adjournment would have been Res12 voted down and none of what has come out since would have happened. We would never have got access first to the SFA to unpick their position and then more important get to UEFA itself to get the kind of information since shared with everyone that btw Celtic still have to answer to shareholders for at the AGM.

The idea that we were unaware of what we were up against offends me, after 8 months into 2014 AND WITH CELTIC’S HELP progress was made, but that they didn’t take over in August 2014 was a matter of extreme disappointment that also told us what we were up against. We really should have walked away then and told everyone why but out of a duty to signatories we went the legal route we did.

The situation we faced was trying to make progress whilst being criticised for secrecy in order to reach the objective of SFA accountability that a UEFA investigation would have led to, and at same time protecting Celtic from division amongst the support. However that did not stop us putting pressure on Celtic when we had enough to do so in the spring of 2016 that gave us access to UEFA.

I can understand you thinking what you do but the idea that the RES12boys were played is a million miles off. If we were played who is going to be criticised more? The played or the players? Think about it.

However we are where we are and if Celtic have learned any lessons the game has only started. The phoney war might just be over.

No. Celtic had already said it was unnecessary and had the votes to outvote it.

A Vote for at the AGM would have made no difference, the Res would have gone in the bin.

  19. EBTs are a red herring. Improper registration (side letters) and WTC are key to challenge the malfeasance. Keep your eyes on the target. How this can be achieved in short order is crucial (I don’t necessarily have the answer, but we sure need to find one, very soon). I will certainly contribute towards any crowd-funding proposal to correct this blatant injustice, as well as not attending any cup matches at home or at Hampden, neither have I nor will I attende any matches against any Ibrox club.

On the Arbroath Emerald CSC bus just passed Perth Broxden en route to CP. Here’s hoping for a good result tonight.

    BRTH – appreciate the reply.

On the surface of it they have a Plan, a Team and a Strategy to ensure no further action will ever be taken, whilst we have very little – other than unhappy and frustrated supporters. Looks like a Walkover to me.

Celtic wanted us to drop the Res and we refused,

An adjournment was a better option at the time than it being lost after a rammy at the AGM.

It allowed time and authority to get answers that never would have been obtainable had the Res been lost. There would have been no follow up meetings with Celtic to take matters forward. It would have died there and then and I now wish it had but unlike Celtic we did the right thing.

“Tomorrow we can work out ways to tackle the cheats in Scottish football. We can wait a little longer for victory. This has been done before by those who sold us the Celtic way. They lived through difficult times, those from Ireland and the Western Isles, mocked and despised in the workplace and in the streets of our towns, but we prevailed and we no longer allow ourselves to be ridiculed. The fight for equality is still ongoing and if we hold our nerve we will prevail. We owe it to those who carried the torch in the long years of ridicule.”
