You know when you get to a stage with a player when you think, “Moussa, how about you slow down with the international goals?” Celtic are ticking along well right now, and while I appreciate how important it is that when we sell players, we sell them at an elevated price, I’d be happy if Moussa didn’t attract too much attention right now.
His hat-trick for France under-21 last night was another milestone in his inextricable rise to the top. Coming hard on the heels of Olivier Ntcham stealing the show last week for the same international side, we can expect plenty of scouts at Celtic Park in the coming weeks.
Australia v Honduras tomorrow morning is the last World Cup qualification fixture involving Celtic players before headcount returns to full levels at Lennoxtown. This international break (for those who got the break) was invaluable to Celtic. We have two games per week from Ross County on Saturday until the winter break on 30 December.
That’s 13 games in 42 days, including a cup final, two Champions League fixtures, Aberdeen, Hibs, Hearts and Newco; the squad will be stretched to its limit.

I don’t get any adverts on my phone or laptop (no matter the sites I visit) – I don’t know how you guys survive online these days.
Sad news folks. Just got word from my big wee bro that that our good Celtic supporting friend from the MON era lost his dad an hour ago.
Ar dheis lámh Dhé go raibh a anam uasal.
Adblock plus for chrome works great on my laptop. Currently blocking 12 ads on CQN.
I’VEHADTOCHANGEMYNAME-agree on Houghton,he’s been a wee tit on talk sport for years,:-))
just a thought – It seems to me that ray houghton is happy if Ireland lose – a bit like walker with us
Ad blocker on my laptop and turn off javascript on my old iphone 4 – no ads
GLENDALYSTONSILS. same here 12 ads blocked.
BT-my granny used to go to her ‘wee centre ‘ just across from the welfare near the top entrance to Asda, bringing up some memories:-))
Almore
just logged on to check the Ireland score and saw your post. Condolences to you and your friend.
Otherwise, I hope things are doing well pal.
Have you chatted with Gearoid of late? Of late, I play catch up reading on CQN, so by the time I saw his post recently, you guys would have long been asleep. So, I wasn’t able to say hello to him. But if you are chatting with him, please pass along my regards.
I have been raving about my trip, and encouraging everyone to go, so if Dublin and Belfast get too busy with tourists, you guys can blame me!
Hopefully, a few late goals will see Ireland through.
HH
MIT: Cheers. I only talk to G98 when I am looking for All Ireland tickets:-)
Hope all is well yourself and that Derry is being well looked after.
Looking forward to Stuart coming home for Christmas.
Back to the footie.
game over
The one player of genuine class on the pitch has made all the difference.
Good Night Vienna, Denmark looking a very good side tonight, maybe Martin was right to park the bus in Copenhagen after all.
Sin é. No coming back from this. We needed to get something in Copenhagen and fell far short.
So that means only engerland at the WC – the very thought
Will this be MON’s last game?
Can’t believe the criticism of Houghton. He calls it as he sees it and would be delighted if Ireland qualifies. Sour grapes by some on here.
HH
No Jophes. Think they have already shook hands on an extension of contract.
Bad enough getting beat 3-1 at home but having to listen to the moronic mutterings of George Hamilton and Ronnie Whelan explaining for the thousand time the away goals rule! TV muted!
Salbhoy – I’m not Irish and have no axe to grind – just commenting on how I see it – more about tone than content.
SLABHOY-sour grapes???
Denmark have been the better team and in Eriksen a real top notch player – as he scores his hat-trick
How are Denmark consistently so much better than Scotland?
Embarrassing now
Erickson deserves to be at the WC. Better team is winning. Was hoping for a very different result but not to be.
Woof, Eriksen
I would definitely never had had an English commentator on this game, especially no backed up with that wee tit houghton
celtic40me
they’re taller :))
The drought goes on,that’s your commentator
Denmark’s third goal looked like a Celtic goal. Nice to watch.
On the bright side, Jonny Hayes will be ready to go for the Qualifiers and Aiden doesn’t have to go back to Russia!
By God when any team is dependent on players from Burnley, Hull and Brighton it’s actually a miracle that Ireland even got to the play offs this is SUMMIT of most of these players professional careers. Martin O’Neill would probably be better coming on himself even at 64!
The drought goes on,that’s your commentator now he’s slagging the fans!
oh jeez, meltdown
Never again going to watch a game of football that doesn’t involve Celtic.
Only an excuse for a few beers anyway.
The World Cup won’t be the same with no Italia there.
Pish.
HH.
Sad thing about this performance is that when Jack Charlton became Ireland manager soccer was very much a minority sport here. The sport grew immeasurably under his tenure but the pool of talented players has diminished beyond belief. Too many young players chasing the £££££ offered by the (Sky)EPL.
Something the FAI needs to address.
anyone suggested that Cetlic buy that Erickson fella? he looks a decent player!
:)
By the way the best team won without a doubt
