Celtic were always in control against St Johnstone in Perth this afternoon and deservedly picked up the three points although it took them almost an hour to open the scoring. Gary Hooper knocked in a loose ball on 59 minutes before Ki Sung-Yeung finished off a sweeping Celtic brea five minutes later.
St Johnstone kept things tight early on and kept Celtic from creating a chance before Georgios Samaras created space for a shot which was saved well by Enckelman. Celtic’s best move of the first half came after 31 minutes when Ki, Forrest and Brown combined to release Hooper. The striker shot low and on target but Enckelman pulled off a remarkable save.
Both teams picked up the pace after half time but it was Mackay who created the first chance of the second period, forcing a save from Fraser Forster. Cha DuRi twice crossed dangerously. Firstly for Hooper, whose hooked effort from 4 yards was turned over by the impressive Enckelman. James Forrest then turned a snatched chance over from Cha’s next effort.
Just before the hour Charlie Mulgrew dropped a corner into the six yard box which Victor Wanyama contested. The ball dropped between a sea of St Johnstone legs but Hooper was onto it in a flash and prodded over.
The game was put beyond the home team five minutes later. St Johnstone were awarded a free kick on the edge of the Celtic penalty area after Mulgrew was penalised for climbing. The Celtic was stood strong and from the subsequence block James Forrest drove forward at pace. Samaras returned a 1-2 to Forrest to drew Enckelman before squaring for the unmarked Ki. The Saints’ keeper did well but could not prevent Ki’s shot from crossing the line.
Samaras mishit a shot after the impressive Cha again crossed to effect before the Greek striker ran 40 yards and had his shot blocked.
St Johnstone’s only real chance fo the game came when Wanyama slipped to let Haber close in on Forster but the keeper was equal to the shot.

The Green Manalishi (with the two prong crown) – if you’re about.
Dropped into your Leeds local yesterday with a couple of mates at about 2.55. I think you travel down on a Sunday night. It was fairly quiet. You didn’t miss much mate.

How could anyone keep a knighthood for services to business if involved in tax fraud. We should as you say systematically go after all involved.

I am not saying the ball did not hit jelly’s arm… the debate is was it deliberate, definitely open to question… if we are going to highlight “honest mistakes” we should only highlight ones that are obvious and
hard to defend…. we have enough examples without using incidents that are open to debate..

The sharp suited man has publicly said that the contriversial banner was not down to the Green Brigade you cant get it any clearer than that. The Green Brigade bring atmosphere to Celtic games and really support there team through out the whole game so lets give them a break and enjoy the festive season.H.H.
UEFA charge Celtic with displaying inflammatory banner and setting off flares.Case to be heard on 26 January.
STV confirms UEFA have open disciplinary action against Celtic on two counts – the banner and the flares.
I hope some people are very happy.
If Celtic get anything more than a fine – a ban on Supporters, closure of a stand or a points deduction then what will people say then?
The filthy Scottish media are rubbing their collective hands.
There is NO excuse for what those people did in Celtic’s name. Disgraceful.

How did they do anything in Celtic’s name? It was 2 guys holding a banner and another couple playing with flares.
Is it known who let the flare
off and had the banner?
Are they definitely Tims?
Sepp Blatter’s Fifa reform committee hit by fans’ group boycott
The credibility of Fifa’s reform program has suffered a fresh blow after a leading supporters group declined an invitation to join a committee charged with cleaning up the world governing body.
By Paul Kelso, Chief Sports Reporter
The Telegraph Sport can reveal that Football Supporters Europe (FSE), which has affiliations with fans groups in 38 countries, turned down an invitation to join Fifa’s Independent Governance Committee because of doubts over its credibility.
The committee has been set up by Fifa president Sepp Blatter as a vehicle for pushing through reforms in the wake of a welter of corruption scandals in the last 18 months.
Its credibility is already in question after Transparency International (TIs) refused to take part because of concern that Fifa will pay consultancy fees of more than euro 100,000 committee chairman Mark Piethe’s company.
TI had helped Blatter draw up the reform agenda but walked away last month have lost faith in the process.
FSE has now taken the same step, citing concerns over the independence of the committee and the reform process. While the Independent Governance Committee will be able to make suggestions on reforms any action will still have to be ratified by the Fifa executive committee.
The fans’ group also questioned the timescale and Fifa’s commitment to genuine reform, and were concerned that Fifa would not share the names of other members of the governance committee with them.
They were only invited to join the committee last week, suggesting that Fifa is either struggling to fill it with credible figures, or that the decision to try and involve a supporters’ group was taken very late in the process.
In initial negotiations with Fifa FSE had proposed sending two members to sit on the committee, but doubts about the process in the last few days prompted them to withdraw an co-operation.
Blatter is due to announce the membership of the reform committee on Saturday following a meeting of the Fifa executive committee in Tokyo.
Daniela Wurbs, the chief executive of FSE, said they could not accept the invitation because of concerns over Fifa’s credibility.
“We looked at it very carefully but we could not accept because we had a number of concerns,” she said.
“We do not feel that the structure of what is proposed is truly independent, and we had serious concerns at the lack of information that was provided to us about who else would be involved.
“The timeframe is very short, with just three one-day meetings in the next six months to try and frame reform. We do not feel this is sufficient for Fifa to deal with all the allegations it faces and to look at all the questionable action in the past.
“We had more doubts than hope about the process so we decided to not take part. We want Fifa to reform and would be very happy to be proved wrong. We will be the first to admit it if it turns out we have made a mistake.”
As well as announcing the membership of the governance committee Blatter is also due to give an update on the ISL bribery case.
He had promised to publish court papers that will reveal the names of two Fifa officials, alleged to be Joao Havelange and Ricardo Teixeira, who accepted bribes from the collapsed sports marketing agency.
Plans to release the papers after tomorrow’s ex-co meeting have been postponed following legal objections from one of the two officials.
Meanwhile Fifa has announced that executive committee member Worawi Makudi will face no further action over allegations that he misused Fifa development funds to build a football academy on land he owned.
Makudi told Fifa that he in fact donated the land to the Thai FA, which he ran at the time, and has provided documents to support his explanation.
In a statement released to the Telegraph Sport Fifa said: “Fifa has completed its analysis of the documents provided by Worawi Makudi and has been able to ascertain that Mr Makudi had in fact donated part of his plot of land to the Thailand FA for the purpose of the construction of Fifa Goal projects in Thailand.
“Therefore, no proceedings have been opened against Mr Makudi and the matter is now closed.”

Hey how funny was it watching Celtic play on a Sunday with the commentary in Gaelic? Wee Free Monarchists must have been spewing! :o)
The Sun is the paper Neil Lennon chose to issue his ‘we are better than that’ message to the fans.
Sometimes it’s hard not to laugh.
Ive been reading that a lot of supporters are not keen on the Christmas eve match with Killie and I can understand that those who travel long distances might prefer not to at this time of year. However,I am looking forward to it I think there will be a real party mood in the ground and we can all have a good time.I also heard a rumour dont knowif its true that the Green Brigade have made thousands of tax man masks and will be wearing them on the 28th now that would be funny.H.H.

The honest Mistake
They are in the Celtic section as Celtic supporters. That is representation enough. Regardless the behaviour of our supporters is something the club must deal with.
It is rather obvious.
The actions of 4 idiots is not representative of all Celtic supporters but it does get Celtic blamed and punished.
regardless this is a terrible situation to be in.

Coorslad…
Well said that man….
An inflammatory banner?
That’s a new one for the lexicon.
Is inflammatory worse than offensive?
And were the flares inflammatory?
UEFA are a bunch of dictatorial, corrupt, self serving buffoons.
It was a game of football with a banner with a rude word (though a word that’s pretty much commonplace in the mainstream media, a word that the owner of the huns used in an interview with a Scottish broadsheet) and a couple of smoke bombs in a three quarters empty stadium.
Morning all great result for the bhoys yesterday and the fans were brilliant.
I see the old skysports using the GB’s version can’t get enough. Now lads thats what the GB are all about bringing something different to paradise and bringing a great atmposhere and we as fans show the world what truly great fans we are.
I would also say we as fans should be proud of ourselves because when outsiders are looking in at our support and when they see the huddle it is truly a great site to see and i always wonder why rangers fans can’t do this hmmm.
I also see Mr Hugh Keevins running with the article from kyle lafferty saying we play some great football, now lads can any of you think why he would do this hmmm.
Surely wee shuggie wouldn’t do this to avoid admitting that the refs and the linesmen in this country are corrupt and will mostly favour that lot surely no.
No he wouldn’t ? the dodgy decisions for that lot so he runs with the article about lafferty praising us, oh i wish i had his email.
See the reason i say this about shuggie and his paper is because can any one on here recall when mr mark wilson played against dundee utd and he should’ve got a 2nd yellow? yes well it was splashed all over the papers and it was talked about on the phone ins but that suits their agenda to make it look as if it evens themselves out.
So there you have it watch this space tonight anyone phoning clyde they will use big dan and the kayal incident to suit their agenda.
Watch this space…

Re the link:
Nothing changes!
Rangers contraversial 2nd goal, elbow to face goes unpunished, police accused of lying so Smith is not charged, and Smith gets unproven verdict, while the other manager he is accussed of attacking, gets fined…….
Too top it off, Smith and Rangers are accused by the other manager of ruining Scottish Football. I see that managed to continue to present day!!
