  1. The Griff & Duffy are 2 definite Jobo picks for me.

Barkas, Frimpong & Klimala are candidates for the 3rd vote.

Worst 88 minutes I can ever remember watching Celtic. Not really surprising, when,Taylor,El Hamed,Calmac,Ntcham,Edouarde,El Yanoussi, were all dire.I hate to add our new boy in there, but he was very poor also. Those screaming for Broony to be dropped, this is what you get.Calmac wasted trying to play that role.

    ——————-

I don’t think Brown is the issue per se, it’s the position that Brown takes up (normally) which was where CalMac played today.

We don’t need a sitting midfielder to take the ball of the 3 defenders, who have no one (or 1 striker) to mark.

You can play Brown but he (and CalMac need to be 10-20 yards further forward.

Let a defender be the one to take the ball out (perfect for Bitton).

  3. Ryan “Concrete Boots”Christie.FFS,Lenny when will you take the set piece responsibility from him.Lets pray we get,Snodgrass.Brillianr delivery.

  5. THE HUDDLE,

I agree to a point. My point was that Calmac is wasted back in that position.Broony is a master of it.Biton,by all means. We all remember the days when Calmac was scoring for fun.Give the boy his freedom.Should not be tied down, even if its at the expense of Christie, who all of a sudden has developed Superstar aspirations, which is affecting his game, not in a good way.

    Anyway,fantastic 3 points,despite the performance.HH.

  6. Corkcelt,

I agree with Duffy.Just has to get his diagonal crossfield passing better.Dont think he has found one yet.Great defending though. They all know they have been in a game. His opponents,I mean.

  7. Obviously and rightly so Griff gets the glory today….I thought Shane Duffy looked up to speed at last and that is so important for the rangers game….defensively we are getting better and better with lots of clean sheets lately.

But Griff deserves his glory and credit to klamala too.

French Eddy continues to dissapoint me to a level I am not going to be devastated if he goes before tommorow.

But would rather he stays of course.

  8. Wee Joe,

15 mph, I’m on an exercise bike. Ciaran himself is around 13 mph running one mile

  9. Turkeybhoy……….In fairness Shane’s passing today was fine and did quite a lot of it according to stats.

  10. Norris m 2:42

    I agree.

When we have won the game we should be highlighting ref decisions like allowing the thug Murray Davidson to foul as often as he likes

I am still trying to get my head round supposedly allowing frimpong the advantage when fouled 40 yards out he then takes it back to that area when he is fouled 15 yards closer to goal.

    Who got the advantage there??

    Wow..you cant argue with this

Today Neil Lennon took charge of his 50th League game since his return to Celtic, he’s won 41 of those games and drawn six, his win rate is 82%, he’s won 129 of the 150 points available and he’s averaging 2.58 points per game.

    someone will.

just cos he wins 82% of his league matches, winning 2 titles in a row, outscoring the opposition, home and away, he is no man-manager, performance manager or tactical genius.

he has lost the dressing room

    -)))))

  12. The Jury’s still out on Kimala ,don’t know how you come to that conclusion after all Kimala hasn’t played a full game ,Honestly

  13. more astounding

, he’s won 129 of the 150 points available and he’s averaging 2.58 points per game.

    86% of points available.

  14. Arsenal struggling against a well organised Sheffield United – if only they had a decent left wing back – oh wait a minute.

  15. Congratulations to Neil Lennon and Celtic for winning that hugely frustrating game today. The manager deserves great credit. I was excited by the starting XI but it didn’t work.

We need to bear in mind that in the last 10 days we have played against two stubborn physical teams away from home in Europe with a very difficult game against a good Hibs team in between. Additionally, we had to travel to Perth for a very early kick off.

St. Johnstone were well organised and continually chopped our players down when we were trying to get momentum going. I think Murray Davidson should have had two yellows and the guy who fouled Paddy, a straight red.

Neil Lennon made effective changes, Rogic, Griff and Klimala all we’re doing better and Broonie sealed the deal when he came on later. I don’t know if anyone noticed Ajer’s part in Griff’s goal. When he got the ball he had two St. J defenders in front of him with El Hamed on the overlap. The 2nd St. J defender was about to track El Hamed but Ajer delayed his pass with a drag back. Both St. Johnstone players were attracted towards Ajer and when he passed to El Hamed he had a clear run to put the cross in for Griffiths to head home.

Well done Celtic. There will be a lot of disappointed Sevco fans around tonight.

Did anyone see any statistics? Fouls, cards, shots on and off target etc?

  16. My friends in Celtic,

If you did not watch the game, on the face of it 0-2 away from home is an excellent result.

However, if you watched the game our performance was dire and lathergic

In Europe the result was far more important than the performance. We had to get in the group stages. But this type of performance every week is shocking.

It would drive fans away. No pun intended.

HH to all, the journey continues.

  17. HANKRAY on 4TH OCTOBER 2020 3:05 PM

Turkeybhoy……….In fairness Shane’s passing today was fine and did quite a lot of it according to stats.

    …………………

He gave an excellent through pass to Patryk for his goal.

  18. Difficult games come after european Thursday nights. Always have.

Not sparkling form by any means but St J made it hard and fair play to them.

I thought we were more solid defensively, but we are a better footballing side when we have better footballers playing out from the back.

Some days yiu have to dig it out and the script was written for Leigh Griffiths. Half fit or not he puts doubtvin defenders minds and is a hard man to mark.

Paddy K with a brilliant finish- he has promise. We have four forwards all among the goals this season. When did that last happen?

We are struggling for form i believe, and we are still in poll position. The free scoring defensively solid bestest team ever ever ever have very similar stats to our own and are, apparently free scoring and playing really well this season. Maybe they are but you would think they would be really hoping we weren’t continuing to be ‘relentless’.

I can see us dropping points here and there but I can’t see a collapse. Across there? It is a matter of when and not if. No matter what they do today.

  19. OLDTIM67 on 4TH OCTOBER 2020 2:24 PM

Thank God the old man came on to push the Tic on, and another thank God tha Lee came on to win the match

After a European away game it is inclined to knock hell out of any team that has travelled abroad and I believe that the SPFL tried to help St Johnstone by playing so early in the day, where The Hun gets the normal 3.00pm kick off time.

I always have my doubts that Celtic would play well after travelling back from a far distance,we survived ,didn’t play well but got the result that takes us to the top off the League.

I don’t come on here very much nowadays because of the Moaners that post on here, it’s a shame that most of the moaners have chased away the good posters.

    ————–

very good points, the early hours of the morning return from bosnia, then probably light training friday afternoon and yesterday, with lesser recovery time, must be a factor, got to be.

  20. Carains dad 2. 😕 Exercise bike? I thought ye were running. 🙄

Nae good at speed reading. 😇

  21. Mandatory Penalty for the Huns on 17 minutes.

Up to then Ross County were the better team.
