So far a hugely impressive display as far as controlling the match and intensity. We haven’t given them any time on the ball. Its the kind of intensity and pressing that Maeda brings to the party. We can and need to be more clinical in the final third. Too many balls being over hit and poor decision making. Palma can offer more. O’Riley and Bernardo hugely impressive.

I’m delighted to say , this wasn’t the way I was expecting the first half to go against the parked bus . Definite red card , I think Sutton ‘s views are coloured by having picked up a red or two in similar circumstances .

It’s a few easy “See, i’m not biased” points for Boyd.
There was a phrase regularly used in football in the past ‘the ball is there to be won’. That phrase is now redundant. If a player makes a decision to go for a ball and collides with (or misses) the opponent in a way that endangers him, its a red card.

Great start to the game then we lost our way a bit. Final balls into the box have been poor with Palma and Johnston particularly wasteful. Hopefully something Brendan can sort during HT. MOR pass to Maeda was majestic, as was his finish for 2-0. He’s become our talisman in the side. Defensively we have been good although not challenged too much.
STM player red was correct as his foot was high and dangerous to Joe Hart. Hart to his credit didn’t make much of it – most keepers would be writhing in agony after that.
We will probably see a bunch of changes early in second half. Would be nice to see a quick third so the players can relax. Weather conditions making it tough – the bhoys will be looking forward to their break.
