  1. Would prefer Christie on the left, forrest on the right with ntcham and mcgregor taking turns to sit with brown making sure we are not left short in the middle against teams that pack the central midfield area which seems to be the sevco tactic.

On a positive note unlike before we will have a left back, fully fit left midfield, fit centre forward, a right back with a bit more experience than before and home advantage. People are quick to forget just how much problems we had last time out.

I am gonna back celtic for the win

  2. AoW 11.23pm

It was rhetorical … I was expecting a GTF :-)

I need to go to work the morra for a rest … am sure the “sitting section” at the only Green Board in the office will be a happy place tomorrow… not our fault your in the Sevco Section :-)

  3. GFTB-, already reduced their number if you remember. Just one more to go and it’ll be the Celtic End.

  4. AoW 11.33pm

You can beat the “Cellic End” never in the last two years has a Hun sat in our 3 seats …. in a sea of Blue there is only one Green section … I have even told a few Huns that I requested the Green board (obviously I had no say in the matter) but it adds to their “paranoia” those dam feinans are taking over :-)

  5. On another point where are all the doom and gloomers from earlier? Only appear during the game and give it laldy but don’t hang around for the chat

Suspicious in the extreme eh! Danso.

  6. GFTB @ 23:19

THIS SEASON – not only results, but my knowledge of football tells me that there is little between ourselves & the Ibrox club. Acknowledging this does not make me hun, or, a bad supporter. We were outplayed by them at Hampden, we are ‘neck & neck’ in the league, notionally two points ahead, the Ibrox win the only difference.

What has happened to them and what they have, or, haven’t done in the past, is of no consequence to me – this season we have a real fight on our hands, to pretend otherwise is naivety in the extreme.

  7. McNut 11.40pm

Well I will base “my” opinion on them being joint top after beating (BR fcucked up) on the 29th December 2018… if and it’s a very big “if” they beat us on Sunday at Celtic Park where they have never won in their whole existence they will still be 2pts worth of than 12mths ago… WE won the league cup final, they gave it their best shot and still came up short … can I ask you two question since you seem to question my posts ….

Who is the better manager Neil or Steven ?

Who is the better football team Celtic or Rangers ?

  8. Sorry … the Ibrox won the only difference :-) :-) :-)

So they can’t even beat us in their own midden …..

The irony must be lost somewhere

  9. McNut, we’re not ‘neck and neck’.

We’re 5 points ahead and that is factual.

They have to still earn their 3 points to make it 2 behind. Which is still behind. By 2 points ergo not neck and neck.

Thought you’d get that with all your ‘football knowledge’

  10. Seemingly the “thinking” fan doesn’t take the “actual” facts into account ..

Ah well … we can all look out the same windae and see a different landscape

    On that note …

I think Neil is a far better manager

And Celtic are a far better football team

    But opinions can differ ….

There is one fact … Steven Gerrard was still win the square root of Eff all …. the proof is in the trophy room

Fellow Celts god night, god bless and may we all still keep laughing at the Huns … enjoy it as it might not last, in fact just keep laughing they are there to be laughed at :-) :-) :-)

  11. gftb@11:47

i dont think at the moment we are a good team, yes we have the best players by a mile in scotland.

sundays game is a toss up.

nl has to use his subs better, we will see.

    good night all, hh.

  12. I was/am still wanting McNut to be a ‘new’ poster but he is demonstrating the hallmarks of another older poster.

Still welcome to post etc… But. Why the charade? Have your viewpoint and put it out there. We’ll agree or disagree. But don’t be disingenuous.

    It’s only a blog.

Didn’t Eddy have the ball in the net for 3-0 when he was wrongly flagged offside by Ross?

    …………………………

You’re absolutely correct. Totally forgot about that. My apologies.

  14. My personal opinion is Neil has been a bit spooked by the cup final performance , it was bad regardless of result, so he’s flooded the midfield to try and control midfield and messed up the flow of the team

  15. Tim Horton 12.08am

I can see your point, I treat Sunday as a game we might not win, much like today, but to top a Europa League section with Lazio, Rennes & Cluj who when the draw was made all of them and ya topped their own leagues …

I think real Celtic fans are always critical (as we fear the worst) but I need to question the fact you don’t think “we” are a good team …. I think we are a very good (& inexperienced) team and if this team can improve, then they could go places …. Neil Lennon has lost one European tie this season when more than half of his first 11 weren’t on the park, in fact they weren’t even in the same country as our bhoys :-)

Hope you had a great Christmas … Teabags is still lurking, think am in Bailleston on Sunday for the fitba with one of his good friends … will try and get big J to take the plunge and post

  17. Think we will win on Sunday but personally I prefer Ryan in the Ncham position with Mikey on the left n James on the right.

Ncham has a lugubrious style that borders on sloppy n lazy…I wouldn’t start him on Sunday.

However at home with a quick start I can see us winning comfortably but any hesitation and it could be a tight game. Still 3-1 to the champions

  18. I played football a wee bit.

if i sat on a bus with team-mates who talked the shite on here about how scared they were of the opposition, or how poor we are as a team, i would have told you all to feck off, get real, be there for us as a group, or bugger off. i wouold not jave got off the bus, i would go get my strip on, lined up, probably won the game with shear determination and fortitude,

    i would not be beaten.

why would a team led by scott brown and neil lennon, be tired or scared or not good enough ? seriously, catch yourselves on.

you ckicken lickens stop telling us the sky is falling in.

neil lennon is , statistically the most wins percentatger for a celtic manager ever,

we wil win on sunday, and your doubters can take that to the bank of sevco,

  19. ST STIVS @ 1:01

There are a few who post on here who have played the game at a good level, some even made a decent living.

If you discuss rationally your own strengths & weaknesses in comparison to your opponents, that is not being afraid of them, it is merely acknowledging the fact that they stand in the way of what you want to achieve.

This Celtic squad, with a couple of additions, have the prospect of putting real distance berween us and ‘them’, and, making a real go of the Europa League.

However it is nonsense to suggest that the Ibrox club have not improved immensely under Gerrard. They are now a unit with an obvious purpose, playing for a manager whom they probably count one of their heroes in the game. Gerrard’s approval will mean more to them than say a manager from an older generation.

This season is when the biggest challenge to our ambitions will come. If we ‘sweep the boards’ again, or, even win the title, there will be a ‘changing of the guard’, both in the boardroom & on the training ground, at Ibrox.

Those of us who are perplexed by some dire performances by our team, have every right to state our case, just as those who believe that ‘everything in the garden is rosy’, have a right to put their’s – however it’s all about opinion, disagree, put forward a counter arguement, but labelling people, some long-term season ticket holders, as somehow lesser Celtic mortals is spiteful and unworthy of this site.

  20. The league table does not lie.

    Our home form is flawless.

10 games played. 10 games won.

    Scored 33, conceded 4.

That’s just over 3 goals a game we score at CP.

And we only lose a goal every 225 minutes.

I bet the bookies recognize this, even if some of us are leerie.

  21. macjay1 for Neil Lennon on

    MCNUT on 27TH DECEMBER 2019 4:26 AM

    Yes. I agree.

The best Rangers team for many years.

There`s a difference between realism and defeatism.

  22. GG @ 04:49

Yes indeed, ten home games, ten wins – a perfect record. However the analysis after Sunday will be more meaningful.

What it all means of course, is when we resume after the January break, we will have only eight more home games left with eleven away from home.

We have lost 5 points from 27 away from home, that’s 19% – if the same ratio was repeated, we would lose around 7 points in our remaining away games.

If we then remain 100% at home, we would win the title on 102 points. Best the Ibrox club could muster even winning all their games except against us, would be 101 points.

    Two things stand out:

*The importance of the result on 29th.

    * Things could be so close that goal difference may be a factor meaning our recent profligacy could come back to haunt us.

Of course after the break the league could be stronger, with Hibs, Hearts, Aberdeen…etc, able to take points of us & them….but don’t hold your breath.

  23. Re 29th

They have definitely improved and the gap between the teams is smaller imo.

We still have more quality in our first eleven and throughout our squad than they do but it’s slightly closer for comfort than I would like. Officialdom will assist them where they can, they just only have to be in punching distance for a chance to win as a result.

We have financial resources to strengthen in January, I hope Lenny gets what he wants in terms of recruitment. We have what I would describe as a once in generation opportunity to get the title which gives us a chance at the holy grail of 10IAR. It would be an outstanding achievement considering what we’re up against.

A win on Sunday would be massive for us in relation to the title race and as equally devastating for the peepul of Sevconia.

I understand some of the concerns regarding our form and chance conversions of late but I’m confident the team will want to put things right in terms of performance from the last time out at Hampden.

A fully focused Celtic with a point to prove is a dangerous beast as I’m hoping Sevco will find out to their cost on Sunday.

Ps Morelos goal against Killie looked onside to me.

Pps Belated Merry Christmas wishes to all on here, especially folk with ill health or struggling with grief, a big Hail Hail to you all.

    HH

  24. I don’t think many posters are saying Stevies Sevs havnt improved (with a little help from “our” officials) their top goal scorer should have been sent off a lot more than the game against Motherwell ….. BUT this improvement will see them them at least 2pts worse off on Sunday than they were going onto the winter break than they were last season, and maybe 5pts or even 8pts worse off …. so on that basis Neil Lennon’s Celtic having improved even more :-)

Work calls, thank crunchie it’s Friday

    Hail Hail …. fellow Celts

  25. Big G – Nail on the head. Like you, I think NL has used last 2-3 games trying to fit Ntcham into the existing midfield to beef it up for Sunday. Gerard’s 5-man midfield outplayed and outfought us at Hamoden. CM, RC and SB were largely anonymous in the final.

By shuffling the team, as you point out, the attacking flow has been interrupted.

    Stick or Twist?

  26. DBHOY @ 6:10

Agree with your analysis – let’s face it, a real challenge had to come sometime. They have thrown all they can at us – they’ve improved early this season so much so that we are ten points better off than last season and have not shaken them off.

We have the wherewithal to strengthen next month, a centre-half & centre-forward is what we require.

Also like to say that we are a better team with Elyounoussi – he gives extra confidence, this was clearly seen in our EL games. So with him & Elhatem back plus the aforementioned new two, we will be so much stronger.

A win on Sunday would be a fantastic boost going into the break. HH

  27. Good morning CQN from a not so hungover Garngad I was a good bhoy last night and I was home for…. Eh early I think.

Anyway my prediction of a humping did not emerge yesterday, so it still lies in waiting for the next victim, Sevco maybe??

Sevco have improved ever so slightly, stop Tavernier whipping crosses in from all over the park and their game plan is fecked in my opinion.

Whichever team Lenny puts out on Sunday just give 100% and we should take care of them.

  28. MCNUT

CF is a big priority in Jan for obvious reasons, Elhamed can cover at CB so less urgency on that front.

Didn’t see the sense in bringing big Fraser back in the summer considering we had two very good goalies already at the club, got that one completely wrong. Huge influence on our season so far.

I trust Lenny to strengthen the team effectively. As some have mentioned on here, he’s very underrated as a manager.

Looking forward to the game on Sunday, when hopefully we put Sevco back in their box.

  29. “a real challenge had to come sometime”

A phrase I hear/read regularly from non Celtic fans …. you can only beat who is in front of you and even when the Sevs re-formed (?) they still competed in the cups that Celtic won, may as well tell Broony & co your medals are worthless as you weren’t really challenged ….

He was taken in to Hairmyers hospital in the early hours of the morning with severe chest pains and they are still working on him. He happens to be a blue-nose, never ever a Hun, but an all-round good guy and very deserving of our support.
