  1. Broonie, never a red. Elbow on Ajer, sure is a red.

Noisy thing, just stop it. BUT. There were fans and stewards all closer and none of them required “treatment”.

  2. So if its difficult is is unconclusive , you don’t find someone guilty if there is doubt, remember previous cases much clearer than last night and that is the way it has gone, if Scott is banned for this ask them to prove it.

  3. Couple of points on last night

Mikael Lustig came off hobbling and holding his thigh – injured

Ollie Burke is Not a Centre forward, play him out wide ( and not worth £13m in my view)

We need to play players with the Dynamism of a Ryan Christie.

Oh the media desperate to pin something on a Broonie, I thought the st Mirren player accidentally hit Broonie in the nether region, and he lost balance with this.

Was Morelos a stamp on Tony Ralston ?? Media

  4. !!Bada Bing!! on

HS- the way i look at the Broonie incident, if it was McGregor on the ground in front of him, could he have stepped over him and avoided contact? I think yes.

  5. Just watched the highlights from the Sevco game vs Hearts and I stand by my comment that we were pedestrian last night, in comparison to them. We had so much possession and control that we slowed down and toyed with them rather than get into areas to hurt them by scoring.

I am definitely not saying that Sevco are a better team than us; just that, last night, they put more effort into direct running at the opposition defence and support running to join in attacks.

We still need to apply energy to our technical superiority. It may be understandable that there is a slump after a “league winning” game but, against a better and less weakened team than Saint Mirren, we could have dropped points last night.

P.S. I also thought N’tcham’s run up for the pen. last night was borderline illegal. I think he stopped his run up and went again. I wonder if the ref would have chalked it off if he’d scored- seems not as he allowed the follow up shot.

  6. My friends in Celtic,

Reading back ,I note there was reference by respected posters that unsavoury actions by Celtic supporters is not a new phenomenon.

This is absolutely true , however we should remember the consequences of such actions.

In 1984 against Rapid Vienna we won 3-0 . A bottle landed near ( not hit, near ) Herbert Feuer.

The game continued but eventually we had to replay it at Old Trafford. We lost, but equally importantly we were fined £17k and had to play our next European tie behind closed doors.

As a support we reflected and acted. Subsequently we won fan awards and our behaviour in Seville was loudly acclaimed.

I need not say more, the trend and potential consequences are self explanatory.

HH to all, the journey continues.

  7. D66,

I don’t know what to say. Horrendous time for you and all the family. The thoughts, prayers and finger crossing of all on CQN and beyond are with you.

  8. SFTB

It was v noticeable that our two lovely goals started with two stunning early/first time passes.

That’s the way forward, literally and metaphorically.

  9. On Radio 4 now: In Our Times – An Gorta Mor Repeated tonight at 9:30 and, of course on BBCRadioiplayer and/or Sounds after broadcat

  10. BT’s apparent admission last night that he’d survived the reigns of thatcher and Churchill made me wonder if we have a new ‘Old Old Tim’ in our midst. That beauty cream is working a treat Stephen! ?

Ref Broonie last night, given that Henry V has now been cleared of killing the twins in the Tower of London and is now the cause of the 1918 flu pandemic…..I’m sure the MSM & SFA will seize on this opportunity to ban him.

    HH jg

  11. `Is it a coincidence that Broony and Brexit start with the same 2 letters- I think we should be told`

…and BRendan Rodgers whose departure could be described as BR exit.

  12. Overall, I thought it was a messy performance. We didn’t exert control over the game in the same way we used to. Under NL, games can be a hell of a lot more hectic. I am happy with results but not performances.

I should add, its still better than some of our limp away performances this season under Rodgers. But the games feel way closer than they should.

Ryan Christie was a welcome addition. He really turned our season against Hearts at Murrayfield and he’s been missed (especially when it coincided with Rogic’s absence)

The Brown thing is obviously accidental. Where’s he supposed to put his feet?

  13. https://www.footballscotland.co.uk/spfl/scottish-premiership/rangers-boss-steven-gerrard-says-16074999

Rangers boss Steven Gerrard says Ryan Kent didn’t strike Scott Brown in the face

“We have our version of events on Ryan Kent.

“We have challenged it and we will wait and see. We don’t think it was in the face and the photo makes it look worse than it was.”

    ___

Its happening before our eyes. A punch in the face becomes a shove in a chest. A four game ban becomes a two game ban.

Celtic don’t want to get caught in a PR game with a rival that isn’t even in our rear view mirror so I understand why the club doesn’t need to respond.

However, there are a lot of smart chaps working in the Scottish media and know exactly what Gerrard is doing. If this was happening in the EPL there would be opinion articles taking issue with it.

Unfortunately our media is underfunded and doesn’t have the courage to challenge the narratives. The zombies outside the BBC is a reminder to journos that they will be physically harmed if they don’t play along.

    It’s a shame.

  14. lets all do the huddle ? on

i’ve said it before on here

we have some amount of drunken, coked up wee tits that go to the games

so in that respect we are just a mirror of society

notwithstanding the bangers from last night (apart from the one being spoken about, there was another one let off in the stand behind the other goal last night at the same time), even just standing next to some of these wee fuds or seeing them as they are walking upto the games makes you cringe

throwing smoke bombs and bangers onto the track or the pitch is completely out of order

and the jumping onto the track pish also has to be stamped out

time to rethink how tickets are dished out – i suggest that adults have to be over 30 to get into away games (yes, the grey brigade should take over)

and weans have to be with an adult who is over 30 to get in

    sorted

  15. LETS ALL DO THE HUDDLE

Body search on the way in carried out by someone who knows how to carry out a proper body search, not the people who act as stewards.

    Oh and get there early!

  16. There is evidence to show that It is natural to highlight the negatives. Even so, I think it is important to remember how many are involved in these ` incidents` . Compared to the numbers who go to football matches, it is miniscule.

    JJ

  17. Until such time as we have football that is accountable to supporters or perhaps supporters who want accountability, then it will be an never ending procession of outrage and blame.

Resolution 12 has tried to address this and the full story to date can be read in the link at

    https://www.sfm.scot/accountability-via-transparency/

If it fails in its objective it will be more of the same.

  18. The link to the Res12 archive is

    https://www.res12.uk

It is a long read and like eating an elephant is best done a bit at a time.

It contains many narratives but as I remember saying to Paul a couple of years ago fraud was likely.

Please read the archive and draw your own conclusions now.

Maybe ask do you care enough to want to satisfy yourselves fraud is still not at play?

  19. why are supporters allowed to stand in the all seated areas and treat these areas as the old fashioned standing terraces , we had to jump thru hoops at considerable financial expense to install a safe standing area .

I know it effects the atmosphere at matches ,but health and safety is paramount.

  20. glendalystonsils on

With his latest comments on Kent’s punch on Broonie , SeethyGee has shown the same complete loss of reasoning that has blighted hie predecessors . They must put something hallucinogenic in that loving cup.

BREAKING: Scott Brown has been cited by the Scottish FA for ‘not acting in the best interests of Association Football’ after Sunday’s Old Firm.

A made up ‘charge’ to appease the huns, laughable

I read the article and am confident some kind of fraud is at play.

In spite of that, I still want (and do) to go to Celtic Park to watch Celtic. I realise the famed cognitive disonnance is involved here but for the moment I am still able to enjoy going to games even though I am aware of the bias/corruption of those in positions of power.

It`s a sair fecht and no mistake.

    Cheerio for now,

    JJ

  24. The SFA weren’t going to take action on broony’s outragous smiling at the weekend. But after last nights “stamp” they have now decided to go to town on our captain (and club)

He will now be cited for last night as well, and hammered with a multiple game ban to appease the raging sevco community. See if I’m wrong

  25. If thats a real thing then I’d expect a retrospective life sentence in jail for Walter Smith

  26. Scott Brown, Cited for, Not acting in the best Interests of Association Football ?

If True, then why NOT Cite others like………..

The SFA and SPL regarding Res 12.

Ref Beaton Celtic V Sevco Dec 29th 2018,

Sevco “Manager” Gerrard, for statements made after Celtic v Sevco March 31st 2019…” I would have did the same as Andy” ( Hallidays assault on Scott Brown),

Foderinghams assault on Mickel lustig at above match,

The SFA AGain, for NOT taking action against Sevco for coins, batteries, being thrown,

the SFA again for Not taking action against Sevco for NUMEROUS Pitch Invasions,

Morelos to be Cited for his NUMEROUS Assaults on Celtic Players in match Celtic v Sevco on Dec 29th 2018

Above could be just a few examples of what Celtic should throw back at The SFA and SPL, and Sevco, IF Scott Brown is to now be Cited for a ” Trumped Up Charge”, thats only raised to appease the Hun Hordes…

Give as good as you get Celtic….and then some !

    Get into these Bassa’s.

    HH

  27. Celtic have GOT to challenge this nonsense. Enough is enough. Take Feck all tkts for the midden. Start boycotting SC.

    Feckin amatuers running our game.

    laughable.

  28. Love Alex Rae talk about sportsmanship and dignity. The same man who was banned from Europe for 5 matches for deliberately kicking a Spartak Moscow player in the head during a Champions League qualifier in 2004. Seriously Alex ???? As for Broonie at the end of the match, he was looking for your front teeth which Aiden McGeady smashed in 2005.

  29. Adi Dassler.

It’s taken SFA 4 days to find charges to haul Scott Brown in front of their Judicial Process.

How long has it taken for them to take the charges of non compliance of RFC in 2011 to CAS, a decision taken by that same judicial process because the 5 Way Agreement made it impossible for that process to be applied to TRFC!

In January the ToRs to go to CAS had not been written and Celtic were passive about it.

We still dont know if ToRs established but it’s 8 MONTHS and counting since that decision taken in July 2018 and 4 months when questions asked at Celtic AGM.

The process itself is corrupt. That is clear from Res12 Archive.

Wake up guys. Smell the bloody roses.

The SFA Judicial Process is not about justice. It’s a tool that Celtic seem all to happy to accept, that is used to produce results the SFA want.

“Its happening before our eyes. A punch in the face becomes a shove in a chest. A four game ban becomes a two game ban”

    *****

Yip, punch (shove) joins liquidation (continuation) and incorporation (separation) in the Newspeak Orwellian Dicktionary of Scoddish Football.

    As for Broony’s discriminatory charge. . . .

Is the turning of the game into a farce acting “in the best interests of Association football? ”

Like saying, oh, I dunno, that a 7 year old team is (maybe next year?) “going for 55”.

Still, if you’re prepared to stand for that shite, don’t be surprised when they treat you as such.
