    We had Mcstay and Collins in the same team and they were a joy to watch.

     

    Its time we controlled the midfield

     

    with guile rather than muscle if we want to progress.

     

    Yes we didn’t collect many honours but we were up against a corrupt team and a corrupt establishment at the time.

     

    slowly but surely they are getting dealt with.HH

  4. BigChipsUK - There's only one (SPL) team in Glasgow on

    Kayal33, who would want to sign Hooper in any case, after the standard of his performances over the last 2 or 3 months? Even Norwich City have changed their minds!

     

     

    If Hooper wants a move to the SPL and a call-up to play for England, then he needs to be performing at a far higher level than he is against teams that would struggle in the English 3rd division. The likes of Man Utd/City, Arsenal & Chelsea are not going to believe that he can perform against Spurs, Liverpool & Everton , or even Norwich, Sunderland & Wigan, if he can’t produce the goods against Kilmarnock, Inverness & Hibs!

    Commons is as close as we’ve got to a good attacking creative midfielder but his best games for us have been playing off the wing. Our central midfield is populated by players who can break up play, play the simple sideways pass, players in the image of the manager. You need players like that, but we need someone who passes the ball forward, set up attacks, gets beyond the striker and make things happen in the oppositions final third. In a 4-3-3 formation surely one of the middle three be an attack minded player. Today we had Victor, Ledley & Kayal, on other occasions we’ve had Brown and Mulgrew in there as well. All players who are doing a similar job.

     

    We also need width. When Forrest doesn’t play, and that’s been most of this season, we have no threat from wide areas. Another winger, an alternative to Forrest, is desperately needed IMO.

    I agree he shouldnt be near the top level, but even Neil agreed it was a penalty first half.

     

     

    There is enough bias without us blunderbussin every time a result goes against us – it dilutes the problem.

    Aside of the shocking ref decisions we really are a poor lot.

     

     

    No direction, no creative play through the middle of the park, no service to our strikers. Consistently throwing high balls forward from our central defenders. We also gave St.Mirren far too much space and time on the ball….Teale had acres of space to run at Izzy.

     

     

    Sadly an overhaul of the coaching is badly needed.

    If we looked at the evidence of previous away matches after international breaks then a poor performance could have been expected.

     

    If we look at the stats in the BBC site, St Mirren had the best of the game.

     

    Perhaps we should be happy with the draw and move on to next Saturday. It is still possible to win the league next week.

    My point is that he shouldn’t be reffing games at any level . So why is he ? My point is the bias is in the people running the ref system .

     

    Agree with most of what your saying but we need to challenge this crap at every opportunity .

    I really do despair at some of the comments made on this site.

     

    Today’s match was stereotypical Scottish fare. A good old-fashioned towsie battle on a pitch where staying upright often appeared to be troublesome.

     

    A point seems about right.

     

    Referee had a nightmare, but I saw more evidence of incompetence than I did of bias.

     

    Another step on the long road to the crown.

     

     

    Away for the beer.

    Kris is fantastic as the free man between midfield and forwards. Creative. Play him there, not in midfield, not wide, where he is most effective.

     

    So either Chas or Joe16 must sit out.

     

     

    Both right backs and both right midfielders being missing is a serious problem.

     

    Lustig behind Forrest good, Broonie stepping inside for Adam to overlap, great.

     

    All combinations missing at present.

     

     

    Getting a midfield to allow Kris to play is the key.

    And the penalty? Well, apart from the foul in the build up, the tackle being outside the box and there being no contact at all …

    I only saw the second half live but I now have to revise my earlier indictment of Madden. I don’t think he’s biased, seeing the decisions he denied St Mirren in the f/h. I DO, however, think he is totally incompetent and should never ref a match again.

    OK The ref got a few decisions wrong,it wasnt a penalty,but surely we should be good enough to destroy teams like St Mirren, i will say this again lennons pick of players to win games is not happening,cant motivate, be he can sure shout his mouth of to opposing players,like jim goodwin,saying aye jim goodwin Fanny,well lennon you have a few fannies playing for you.as well ,so stop being a fan pleaser get your finger out try try and motivate the players oh sorry fannies,to go and win the game,an example of his bad decisions,into 3 minutes added time brings on tony watt,for f–k sake, if i was u tony i would have told him were to go, oh and the lennon fans on here are quite happy that he had a go at the ref,so thats ok ,well to me thats not good enough.im sure he lennon is one of the reasons celtic fans cant be bothered going to watch celtic, and thats sad for me even to write about that on here, from a man who has supported celtic for 60 yrs.time for a change of manager.

    Do players who become managers inherit the philosophy of a former manager?

     

     

    If so, then it would appear that NL has adopted the style of MON’s Celtic.

     

     

    This style does not incorporate a creative midfielder, I’m afraid.

     

     

    MON never fully trusted Lubo in his team and if their was one word to describe his style,it would be pragmatic.

     

     

    Therefore,if my hypothesis is correct,then we can look forward tomore of the same, unless there is a Larsson Mk2 out there.
