  1. It’s on nights like this that the likes of Dallas and his brethren are allowed to count for something in the game.

  2. That was fkin rotten…from the first minute onwards…horrible one paced football…awful stuff…

  3. A woeful performance from those on the park and those on the touchline, obsessed with passing and building play gradually, a special mention for the far side linesman and Dallas in the second half, done his dad proud he did.

  4. If MOTM has to be a Celtic player then Broony it is. If we go for the biggest influence in the game overall, I would have to hand it to Dallas.

  5. Oh, and I forgot to say, gives all the other teams a wee shot in the arm that we couldn’t beat relegation fodder.

  6. No surprise.

The steady decline of a one dimensional team continues.

    No threat despite plenty possession.

Great players like KT going backwards. In the second half he never once attempted to beat his man just turned and passed back.

Rogic and McGregor does not work in the midfield as a pairing.

Why do all our midfielders and forwards constantly face backwards with the exception of Brown?

Beating a shit sevco with a solitary goal despite an enormous possession advantage only masked our obvious problems.

  7. Sums it up.A free kick in injury time, the height we have got,and it goes backwards. And bavkwards again another twice.Sick watching this shit against packed defences.Nothing changes. No different tactics.Same backwards, sideways, shit. Not as if we have not had practice playing against it.Same old shit every time.

  8. I’m beginning to lose patience. This is simply pathetic. Sideways, sideways, sideways and another sideways pass will get ya nowhere against a deep sitting team. This is shameful from Celtic.

  9. What is the Stars on

    The best yet

I was waiting for someone to blame Lawwell..but no its me and BSR thats at fault.

Neganon. Honestly I think you should take it easy. Its only football…relax

We drew away from home after playing with 10men for most of the game

    God bless Peter Lawwell

  10. Second half was better than the first. Zero chances for them, many for us. Defence was excellent.

Not good enough at taking chances. Not one players fault it’s all of us.

The ref though. As bad as they come.

  11. the glorious balance sheet on

We have played 21 league games in 2018.

And failed to score in 7 of those games.

In the whole of this year we haven’t scored in one third of our matches against SPFL dross.

I think you would have to go back decades to find a Celtic team with a goal scoring record that is as horrific as that.

  12. My goodness ,all these new posters on here instilling a sense of ‘we might not win the league’ in me…

……Aye that will be fekn right ! UP YEEZ! hh

  13. Blaming officials tonight is pure deflection, 5 games in now and Celtic have mustered one decent performance in the league, some players minds are elsewhere

  14. NEG2-fear not, there will be a picture of a red head with big boabs along shortly ?Everything is hunky?

  15. To say Celtic were lethargic is to ignore reality. The players worked hard enough. Were we lacked was in breaking down ten men behind the ball opposition.I don`t know the answer.

    Goodnight all.

    JJ

  16. St Mirren posed less danger in 2nd half despite facing 10 men.

We dominated possession with at least 66%.

I’ll let the statisticians correct me.

  17. So we had a CH starting tonight who costs more than we can afford. couldn’t guarantee a win against St Mirren. puts all the mince spouted about “gambling” with the CL qualification because of lack of “guaranteed” CHs into perspective.

  18. Play that defensive formation against Rosenborg and we’ll get beaten. Team was set up wrongly from the start and it showed. Broony once again MOTM but we once again struggle against a team that is set up to defend. Ntcham sending off didn’t help but I don’t think him being on the park for 93 minutes would have made any difference. Poor refereeing? Yes but it didn’t cost us the game.

  19. The Blogger Formerly Known As GM on

    There’s yer dinner.

    WTF??

An interesting life lesson in mis management.

The whole fecklin thing is poisoned: BR and PL, Dembele, Boyata, Ncham.

A complete shitshow with everyone pulling in different directions.

Alas the whole system had to be cleansed to wipe out a poison.

  20. Alasdair MacLean on

Well, as your resident “neutral”, even I could see what you were up against tonight.

A perfectly (re)organised parked bus, pumped up team and crowd aided, (yes, even I could see that), by a heavily influenced ref, you were up against it.

N’Cham’s body language I’m sorry to say was obviously down from the start. A cold Fri night in …. Paisley (!).?

In case you didn’t notice….it was draw. After running the show.

Along with you all….Hope Kieran’s shoulder is OK.

  21. When was the last time we put together a four game winning run in the league ? Our league performance last year was worse than any Delia season and we’ve continued that abysmal form into this season. It is t good enough and BR has to take responsibility for this. It’s not just about tonight. The signs of a team going backwards are plain for all to see.

  22. St Mirren are absolute gash. All kick and rush.A good team with the right tactics would murder them.Aboutbtime Brendan got this sorted.Too much of a sameness every week.Poor corners, free kicks, throw ins,,slow build ups,,strikers hardly seeing the ball in the area. And we wonder how our strikers are not scoring.

  23. glendalystonsils on

Jock Stein said (something like) ‘if you’re good enough , the referee can’t come into it’.

Tonight we weren’t and he did. The second half was a masterclass in manipulative refereeing by Dallas.

Let’s not overlook our woeful shortcomings tonight though. Eddie looked about £8.75m short of a £9m player , Calmac took 80 mins to get into the game and we looked hesitant throughout.

  24. The Honest Assessment on

HOT SMOKED on 14TH SEPTEMBER 2018 9:46 PM

You are not paid to know the answer, our manager gets more than £2.5 mill a year to know the answer, on nights like this he is not earning his corn, the players at his disposal are far superior to what we faced tonight, it’s happening all to often.

  25. The problem is clearly in tactics and coaching.

Watching good players having their strengths nullified to comply with a purposeless possession above all system is baffling.

A system that is not even well implemented as it creates more opportunity for our opponents than it does for us.

  26. The Honest Assessment on

    QF on 14TH SEPTEMBER 2018 9:46 PM

If ever there was a really stupid comment that was it, FFS

    Defenders defend

  27. Celts that was grim, why we played mostly across the back to entice a rigid Saints formation for most of the game, I’ll never know. I could see it after the first 10 mins and thought it was sensible given our new player, then started to get worried as our play/ tactics encouraged the saints to play with more confidence.

We gave St Mirren this opportunity but the biggest lesson for our manager is that if you give the men in black an opportunity they will go all out to ensure a victory for anybody playing Celtic. Tonight they had that opportunity and it will be a seriously hard league to win with the dodgy refs who increasingly will cause results of football matches to be ……. altered.

Pass and pass again, what exactly is the footballing philosophy we have as a team. Kieran Tierney used to be an all out attacking left back. Now all he seems to do is look for a pass to a player behind him. Dropped points and more to come this season if this continues.

  29. Overseas,

Why do we have to wait on a spin from Paul. You use the platform, let us hear your views rather than wolf whistling somebody else. Rather than call out somebody for something they have not said , just state your own views, or is that too difficult?

  30. glendalystonsils on

A few performances like that and we will still win the league , but ONE performance like that in a cup competition and it’s bye bye 3×3. Same goes for EL groups.
