Absolutely delighted for St Johnstone, who recorded one of the finest aggregate results by a Scottish club in European football in the last 30 years. My brother was speaking to a Saints player this week, who told him the successful strategy and drive came from chairman, Steve Brown, a fact which Hibernian would do well to ponder today.
Malmo’s 0-7 victory at Easter Road yesterday was chastening ahead of our game against fellow Swedes, Elfsborg on Wednesday. Celtic are in a remarkably strong position now, having produced excellent on and off-field results for the first time in the modern era, but those seven goals last night (not to mention the multitudes we shipped preseason) are a cautionary tale. It’s also worth remembering that Rangers decline into liquidation was precipitated by Champions League elimination at the hands of Swedish opposition two years ago (“Larsson has scored”). Wednesday presents a huge challenge.
As soon as I heard the stadium announcement on Tuesday I knew there was trouble in store from Uefa. The second pyro punishment will lead to a heavier fine. Celtic’s statement yesterday advised of matters of concern to Glasgow City Council Safety Advisory Group, who issue stadium safety licence, regarding a whole range of issues (overcrowding, lateral movement, moshing, body surfing). What to say about 131 broken seats? Ouch.
The club and Green Brigade (whose members occupy only a part of section 111) have met and we carry on as normal for now. Question is, can either control everyone in the section? I hope so but it’s a big ask. All it takes is one off-message person keen to ‘stick it to the man’, and there’s a long season ahead. Place your bets, folks.
Our thoughts are with Paul Lennon and the Thai Tims after the news that one of the boys who sang on the Celtic videos died in a road accident while another is critically ill.

Two sets of people attack Peter Lawwell in and with the same lack of veracity: some CQN bloggers and Deady Bears.
Final word before I go to the game. I am not saying the board are incompetent. Just that their goals are not the same as ours as a support. They don’t care about football success unless it brings money and they have no football ambition. On dd – look back on google on his public pronounce, nets on the celtic support.
I was wondering what the reaction will be on here if we win 4-0 on Wednesday , 2 apiece for Balde and Stokes ?
I expect some will not be happy , still I am just a daft dreamer and know nothing.
TBB
Cheers, it will be interesting from now on especially to see if we get the support.
A Stor…,
Sometime you just have to go with your gut feeling.
Hail Hail
Good Afternoon.
Here are some ramblings of my own posted on TSFM earlier this morning.
I don’t often comment on Charlotte but in light of what we now know all things might just look different.

Also– there are other things and instances that now strike me as odd but they are for later.
Canamalar– a big VG and a tick on your old St Peter’s Jotter!
Re a new striker– we have been trying to bring one in for months– Hooper’s exit has not accelerated nor slowed down those plans.
Re the curret situation in Thailand with Non– that is just tragic — totally tragic.
Nothing else to say.
when i was a bhoy the priest at st bridgets was father sweeney. when he came into the playground at st bridgets school it was like a rock star was visiting. the place went mental, full of kids tryin to get him to notice them. never known a man to be so popular. on the other hand the parish of st pauls shettleston were the epitome of curmudgeoness (sp?) thats not to say they weren’t good men cos i brlieve they were but father sweeney was the marc bolan of priests in his day

last night you asked me to “prove it” regarding a post I made about others wanting to spend £8 million,so go on you prove it that DD hates the Celtic support

An Dun. I have no doubt in my mind that the Roman Catholic Church does many good things in the World as I also have no doubt they do many bad things. If you say it is not the Church that says the artifacts in the Vatican are financialy valuable but the value is put on by people outside the church in my mind Christ would have sold those artifacts and given the money to the poor.Think about it what earthly valuables did Christ own? He told the parable about building the barns to store the excess and its futility but the church does not follow the teaching in my opinion. How many priests and Bishops have large houses with many empty rooms im sure Christ would have shared them with the homeless but the church doesnt follow that teaching either. If you are a commtted Church going Catholic I am not trying to sow doubt in your beliefs I just take the view all organised religion is fallible as it is organised and run by mere men who have both there good points and there bad.H.H.
BRTH,

The best times? Not in my view. But there’s time yet. I’m optimistic.

I cant see past Trading leather, bolger camp are bullish, group 1 winner, getting 12 pounds from an aging horse coming back from injury
Hillstar being supplemented is interesting but not deserting trading leather now
Celtic: Zaluska; Fisher, Mouyokolo, Ambrose, Waters; Herron, Brown, McGregor, Commons; Balde, Watt
Celtic subs: Fasan, Stokes, Mulgrew, Ledley, Matthews, Atajic, McGeouch, Henderson
Well it looks as if I will be tuning into Atvidabergs v the Elfs in just under an hour.
Believe Neil is there.
HH!!
If Celtic sign finnboggasson, forget Hooper no problem.
Confession time.
I let 3 rockets off at the Racing Club game at Hampden. And used a big screw tap for a launch pad.
Add john guidetti with finnboggasson . Last 4 this season.
Guidetti only one year left on city contract
WGS
I really hope we do sign him, it would be great to see one of your tips for the top pull on the Hoops..
