Stinging response required

201

Last time Celtic were at Easter Road was a bit of a horror show.  Daizen Maeda was sent off, while Scott Bain failed to make the most of a rare start in goal as the hosts scored four.  The game meant nothing as the title was already won and Celtic were preparing for the Scottish Cup Final, but the scoreline should sting the players into a response tomorrow.

After a brutal elimination from the Europa Conference League against Aston Villa, Hibs went on a six-game unbeaten run, culminating in a draw at Tynecastle after being two goals down.  That form hit the skids at Ibrox last week, where they lost four without reply.

Adrenaline is still pumping from Wednesday night and legs will still be restoring energy levels after being depleted well before the end of the Atletico game.  Players are not machines, they cannot switch it on just because they want to.  Brendan Rodgers abilities will be called on today and before kick-off to make sure the performance is high enough.

I would like to see Tomoki Iwata, Gustaf Lagerbielke and Oh start.  Oh scored in that horror show in May; it would be a good place for him to pick up from and look to open his account for the season.

  4. The old board allowed up to 40% of the crowd in for free and they did not jump into bed with David Murray to keep him out of jail or sleekitly put old Rangers prices onto new Rangers tickets to maintain Old Firm games as the `main` season ticket seller…no…the new and supposed to be better board did that.

Right enough I remember you lamenting the demise of the old board. I take it you still haven’t forgiven Fergus.

You used to phone Radio Clyde every week and you were pally with McNee & Keevins. They let you on every week because you were happy to slaughter Fergus.

  10. I’m guessing the Club get notified of the fixtures before they get published, if so,they should have told them they are unacceptable. Another issue IMO,when we get a run of home games in the 2nd quarter of the season, the clocks have changed, weather gets worse and games in midweek when our Irish supporters and others can’t travel. IMO the reason the fixtures are front loaded for Poundland, is to get cash in asap every season.

Mr M? Is that not you?

Yeah the ticket thing was a very unique issue if I`m thinking correctly.

An issue so serious as that and only One Tim ever mentioned it because the rest of Tims had moved on?

Is that correct? If so then why does this corruption issue never get mentioned by Celts anywhere?

    Is it a cover up?

Are sixty thousand fans on the board as well?

    Very strange.

  18. I always assumed we got the away game on St Stephen’s day because Sky wanted to show us and not the huns. We draw the bigger audience and have done so for a long time.

When the club goes down the woke route, taking the knee for a bunch of fraudsters who were burning down half of America with the entire Western media as cheerleaders, and Celtic FC take the knee because the media demands it and they did, well I`m afraid that the board has already shaken hands with these witch hunting outfits, politics when it suits etc.

The GB should demand respect for the one thousand year long Irish slave trade who along with Chinese slaves built America and many other places.

Wokery is politics and Celtic are already in bed with it starting when the club captain was pictured supporting the rainbow flag to taking the knee for elite fads.

  20. Hopefully Brendan has realised that it might be a good idea to make the ball do the work rather have the players running out of puff in 50 minutes like happened under Ange as well.

Play the ball forward with an aim to utilise the amazing pace that Maeda and Kyogo possess might be an idea.

  21. No mention whatever on BBC Scotland of our manager’s wonderings about why we have been given an away fixture immediately after Christmas for 7 (holy number!) seasons in a row.

They get worse by the day. Goodlad mentioned this morning that rangers and ourselves-in that order!!- have a total grip on trophies in Scotland. Here’s me thinking that St Johnstone are the second most successful club in the past 10 years.

Until you do I`m afraid that I can`t understand what you are trying to say Tom, I assume it was myself you were aiming at because you are the only one mentioning this guys name.

Could you clear it up or move on please Tom thanks.

  23. Oh for the days when we had players who would play anybody, anywhere, at anytime.

And supporters who would take the world on on Celtic`s behalf.

  24. boondock saint on

I have been on CQN since its infancy, hardly ever posted in the earlier days as I just loved reading the contributions of so many other wonderful celts, and then finding out that you might actually know each other or played with or against each other. It would take you hours to read through the hundreds, sometimes thousands of posts, but you did as we all had one thing in common…CELTIC Sadly, we have lost many good posters and friends through the ages, that have either passed away, or left due to the inhouse arguing. I am not saying everyone shouldn’t have an opinion but we have a platform here like no other that we need to celebrate before we lose it and our good host gets tired of all this BS.

Sorry my friends for being negative but we have a game tomorrow, lets get back to the good old days of the exciting build up of getting to see the greatest club in the world, bar none, and that is how I feel. My students ask me if I watched Man city or LIverpool at the weekend, and I always ask them did they play Celtic, if not then no!!!! We are blessed with being Celtic supporters so lets enjoy that fact and keep passing it on to our kids and grandkids and such.

    Yours.

    Sean

  25. Is it possible that we’ve been unlucky? It’s quite a big conspiracy for the sake of a very minimal advantagr for the Huns, or a get it up ye to the fans

I can’t imagine the fixture bods sitting round a table and working back from the first fixture post Christmas to be sure they spoil our fun. It’s making their lives much more difficult for god knows what benefit

It’s not like it’s the same game day every year, 19,20, 22 and 17 and not always in the same cycle of fixtures to the previous year, so year on year off won’t always work

    And we have always won

I see the Huns are unhappy about their fixture being moved as well
