Stinging response required

201

Last time Celtic were at Easter Road was a bit of a horror show.  Daizen Maeda was sent off, while Scott Bain failed to make the most of a rare start in goal as the hosts scored four.  The game meant nothing as the title was already won and Celtic were preparing for the Scottish Cup Final, but the scoreline should sting the players into a response tomorrow.

After a brutal elimination from the Europa Conference League against Aston Villa, Hibs went on a six-game unbeaten run, culminating in a draw at Tynecastle after being two goals down.  That form hit the skids at Ibrox last week, where they lost four without reply.

Adrenaline is still pumping from Wednesday night and legs will still be restoring energy levels after being depleted well before the end of the Atletico game.  Players are not machines, they cannot switch it on just because they want to.  Brendan Rodgers abilities will be called on today and before kick-off to make sure the performance is high enough.

I would like to see Tomoki Iwata, Gustaf Lagerbielke and Oh start.  Oh scored in that horror show in May; it would be a good place for him to pick up from and look to open his account for the season.

Sure, I know, I was answering a question from St Stivs

It’s a ball ache to be sure but it would be one of the more pointless conspiracies.

In England Chelsea fans are complains about the PL moving their away fixture at Wolverhampton to Christmas Eve for the Telly. Only two trains

  2. They aren’t always out to get us and Brendan does still have some bridges to build with the fans

  3. The game has been “Thatcherised” since Hillsborough 1989.

97 souls lost to usher in a propriety driven security state in through back door of the game of football were magical comradeship was generated on football terraces.

Terraces and standing, not `safe standing` real standing led to the forging of relationships that would never be broken…unless they were split up and scattered to different areas of the stadium were it was possible for a “Not The View” type of fan to find themselves surrounded by 6 or 7 “Celtic View” type of fans, or vice versa and suddenly match day can become a head nipping chore like Thatcher wanted…”There is no such thing as society” she said and she certainly got it…unless you are lucky enough to be in the GB.

All seating was a trap – nothing to do with safety.

All of you`re personal details must be submitted to attend a football game on a numbered seat.

What happens when they stop cash and they deliberately make out that cards either are no longer working, or not as safe as they used to be, or whatever they come up with next?

Wait till all happens and then protest? And protest to whom?

In 1989 some fans were violent as well mainly huns and England International fans whom Thatcher couldn`t control so a plan was hatched to carry out a government psyop at Hillsborough, 97 innocent fans sacrificed to allow a government dragnet approach to the hooligan problem, there was no hooliganism at Hillsborough by any fans on that horrible day.

The Liverpool victims families got the same treatment as the “BallyMurphy-Slaughter” and “Derry – Bloody Sunday” families got from the evil Imperial British Establishment authorities, 30 to 40 years of hell and waiting….and waiting….and bloody waiting….till they die off.

    Sad are the homes….

  4. A very fishy poster on here today…….

Luis Palma brings more confidence to the squad.

Like all great players he thinks he’s the bee’s knees

  5. Celtic40me

All teams in England love a home tie on boxing day – my son in law moans when Stoke aren’t at home – lost out again this year with Vale being at home again. 🤭

First time in a long time they’re playing down here in Christmas eve

Is it possible that we’ve been unlucky? It’s quite a big conspiracy for the sake of a very minimal advantagr for the Huns, or a get it up ye to the fans……..

See my post from earlier if you can be bothered (sometime between 5 and 5.30). We may be just “unlucky”, but a 1 in 128 chance of being drawn away from home on 7 consecutive occasions is still highly improbable.

I actually put your post on my csc WhatsApp 👍

  8. TA for that.

Also early views of Palma I did actually think this guy is a player but the seven shirt could be a curse.

    So let’s see

But then I also thought move him to the middle. He has an eye for goal for sure

Gaer – maybe rage is a better fit 😁

    [][]

Rage? Nah, not rage just bemused by how easy these scumbags have taken football away from Joe Blogs and given it to hidden accounts in the Cayman Islands or wherever, clubs owned by offshore gurus etc, and 2 thousand odd Celtic fans being conspired against by the clubs enemies within and outwith the club smeared by anybody who fancies taking a shot at them…and nobody stands shoulder to shoulder with them which is all the evidence of Thatcher`s plan playing out in front of our own eyes.

Where is CSA, CST, etc, etc, showing any comradeship with these fans?

Thatcher has won and most folk don`t even know it.

    That annoys me. HH

I’m not sure it’s as simple as a 1 in 128 chance. You’d have to take into consideration the different season start dates, what game day the first game after Christmas falls on from one season to the next. One season we had the World Cup.

I think it’s more likely than a 7 season conspiracy that would involve extra work and be of very little benefit to the Huns.

  11. CAMBHOY on 27TH OCTOBER 2023 4:45 PM

It’s great that your bhoy got to see/meet so many of the squad. If you are about again look out for me, am the one pacing about impatiently, looking at my phone waiting for the ghirl to ring to say she has finished her shift :-)

  12. The Blogger Formerly Known As GM on

    Celtic40ME, sorry no.

If it’s a fair 50/50 chance that Celtic play home/away in the first game after Christmas i.e. an independent event, it doesn’t matter when the season kicks off nor what day the game is played.

  13. Back to Basics - Glass Half Full on

Given there is a Glasgow derby every season in late December ….

With the venue of that match flipping evenly each year ….

Celtic away after Christmas seven seasons running

    PLUS

Sevco home after Christmas seven seasons running

Is a statistical anomaly in the extreme.

  14. THE BLOGGER FORMERLY KNOWN AS GM on 27TH OCTOBER 2023 8:37 PM

It isn’t 50/50, none of the fixtures are determined by chance.

  15. BACK TO BASICS – GLASS HALF FULL on 27TH OCTOBER 2023 8:44 PM

Why would anyone go to the effort of rigging it?

    What benefit does it bring?

  16. The Blogger Formerly Known As GM on

CELTIC40ME……in that case all teams are aware of it and it’s a contractual obligation. If so, why did BR bring it up today and allude to people “playing tricks”?

He’ll look pretty stupid if it turns out Celtic are contractually obliged to play away from home in the first game after every Christmas.

  17. it’s a funny one celtic40me – the numbers look odd but you can’t imagine how it’s happened ( I tell myself it’s ridiculous to think there’s a masonic club sat round drawing lots!!!).

  18. Ange coming up with tripe re how Spurs played tonight. They were SHIT. Thinking clubs might just be finding out how to play against “Angeball”

If Palace had a decent striker on tonight……

  19. Interim Superbru Update- Round 9

I forgot to do this on Tuesday night after the Dundee game but it is merely an interim update as there are a couple of replays to be added to these scores from postponed matches last Saturday.

In the meantime we have this week’s top performers:-

    1. Gary Postecoglou (our own pub spy BRRB)- 7.5 pts

    2. roy croppie- 6 pts

3= Billy Bhoy, brth, Por Cierto, Bateen Bhoy & 18 yard man- all on 5.5 pts

In the dunces corner this week in clear possession of the Dunces Cap is Belmont Brian on 1 point, having fought off the challenges of Jonny the Tim, Hot Smoked, TheLurkinTim, Raplochbus and Melvin Udall who all gained a half point more.

This leaves the overall Leaderboard at :-

    1. BC Milan- 58.5

    2= Leggy- 55.5

    2= Scaniel- 55.5

    and our bottom 3 are:-

    wee BGFC- 20

    Friesdorfer- 23

    Disco Desk- 25

We still have around 18 posters to get picks in by tomorrow at 3 pm. Good Luck

  20. Re Huns getting home games over the festive period. I’m more than happy that 50,000 of them will more than likely have their Christmas spoiled either by a home defeat or at the least a shit display

  21. Back to Basics - Glass Half Full on

    Celtic40me.

    Cheers.

Individual curiosities of our schedule have spawned a few discussions on here.

    My overarching take?

Sky think far more about SPFL fixtures than the SPFL do ….

…. and influence the schedule subtly to maximise their subscriptions.

Keeping Sevco fans (their largest demographic of Scottish subscribers) as happy as possible… is a given.

  22. Fraser Foster …thanks for your concern …with all due respect Feck off …you were a mercenary from the start ..,you never truly walked in our shoes …ciao 🍀

  23. If Brendan wants a wee bit more ammo it’s really strange that the Huns have played all the highest placed teams from last season, apart from their pals in Paisley at home so far. People ask what difference it makes but confidence and momentum are massive in football. Believe it or not but the leagues “ computer” must have a few quid on them winning the league. The problem is we are better than them and everyone else but it doesn’t stop them.

  24. I don’t get why we (Celtic) throw out a transfer “price” on our players. Why are we saying “O’Riley £25m”

When an open market might start the bidding higher?

I don’t get it. Benfica, Sporting Lisbon et Al (teams and players on our level I reckon) don’t shout out prices until other teams start showing their hands, then the bidding often starts at £45m. Keep schtum and see who bids what before naming a price. There are some desperate and daft teams out there willing to outbid even themselves
