Stinging response required

201

Last time Celtic were at Easter Road was a bit of a horror show.  Daizen Maeda was sent off, while Scott Bain failed to make the most of a rare start in goal as the hosts scored four.  The game meant nothing as the title was already won and Celtic were preparing for the Scottish Cup Final, but the scoreline should sting the players into a response tomorrow.

After a brutal elimination from the Europa Conference League against Aston Villa, Hibs went on a six-game unbeaten run, culminating in a draw at Tynecastle after being two goals down.  That form hit the skids at Ibrox last week, where they lost four without reply.

Adrenaline is still pumping from Wednesday night and legs will still be restoring energy levels after being depleted well before the end of the Atletico game.  Players are not machines, they cannot switch it on just because they want to.  Brendan Rodgers abilities will be called on today and before kick-off to make sure the performance is high enough.

I would like to see Tomoki Iwata, Gustaf Lagerbielke and Oh start.  Oh scored in that horror show in May; it would be a good place for him to pick up from and look to open his account for the season.

You got a link to that please?

Are Celtic saying it’s 25mill or is it more shite in the papers?

  2. A fixture computer will only give out fixtures as programmed, easily done until best looking set appear. Then publish.

As for the Xmas ones, with the Glasgow Derby definitely in Glasgow, send Celtic away so the SFA don’t have to leave Glasgow during the festive season. Simples.

Could be shite….but…..similar quotes from the same papers named Tierneys, Jotas, Edouards and all before and after thems prices before they happened

    Someone’s talking…..

Recent newsnow paper headlines say Celtic name asking price for O’Riley….so far…re previous type headlines…they’ve always got it right

  4. Looking back at newsnow reports “Celtic are looking for north of the present £25m record fee they got for KT

Not north of £30m or £40m……£26m should do the trick

These guys have got it right every time so far

  6. Right now I’d be asking minimum £45m….or eff off

No takers?…..no problem,…….we can ask again next year, and if we have to, the year after…he’s ours for the next 4 years…no takers?….we can lower the price with 18 months or 1 year left on his contract…..better still….re-sign him

Maybe Sky are doing the righty thing for a change and giving their subscribers a late Christmas present with a show from the mighty ‘Tic rather than making the Boxing Day indigestion worse with the Huns.

  9. Our domestic opponents don’t change.

If we have a run of away games and we consider that potentially problematic then surely it al

  10. Ops

Then correspondingly our run of home games near the finish line must be ” easier”

The only real concern I have is for the match attending fans.

I hear you … but I genuinely disagree and quite strongly.

In effect, Celtic players have been given eight weeks notice they’ll have to work on Christmas day (to prep this game).

This is Sly’s GIRUY to Celtic while the SPFL stands by idly.

    Their commercial motives are clear.

They’ve hitched their wagon to the O*d F**m bandwagon.

Given the type of odious human beings who work in that organisation – hacking off Celtic at sniggering schoolboy level is a bonus.

  13. The Blogger Formerly Known As GM on

The Scottish FA is prepared to relax current rules on dual ownership, with three credible approaches from English clubs keen to add an SPFL team to their stable – and with more expected. (Daily Mail, print edition).

  14. Does hosting a game on boxing day increase the ancillary costs of the stadium ?

would the penny pinching board look at not having a game as a cost saving ?

Is it the f.a. playing the usual let’s annoy the tims ?

Where should we send them this year ?

How’s the weather going to be ?

    Travel ?

    Away support allocation?

    Time of game ?

These questions and many others will be answered in the next episode of …soap😜

  15. Good morning all from a sunny 9degree Garngad, lovely morning.

  16. We DO have a game today, yes?

where are all the My Selections posts?

I suppose the team picks itself apart from Hatate`s replacement.

The positive supporters will see that as us having some very good players, those of a negative outlook will see it has no strength in depth ! Small squad;bloated squad !!

  17. Prestonpans bhoys on

Surprised Hibs didn’t take their PPV option, they could have made a fortune with a noon kickoff

  18. garygillespieshamstring on

Presumably both clubs would need to consent to a change of kick off time.

Maybe Celtic didn’t agree as they knew our players would have had a tough 100 minutes on Wednesday so wanted to give them as much recovery time as possible?

Sorry for the late reply, early rise this morning, therefor, early bed last night.

£20,000 a week footballers being asked to put in a couple of hours on Christmas Day? And they’re only given 8 weeks notice.
