Anthony Stokes started the season with a flurry, scoring four goals in the first three league games of the season, but he managed just another three goals before the arrival of Leigh Griffiths two weeks ago. He has since scored against Aberdeen in the Cup as well as Sunday’s hat-trick against St Johnstone.
Three goals in 28 appearances is a desolate return for a Celtic striker, especially during a season where the team have been so dominant, and would have contributed to Neil Lennon insisting a striker, capable of scoring regularly in the league, was recruited in January. Managers often talk about needing competition for places, so it’s natural that we should extrapolate from the arrival of Griffiths. While we may see both strikers play together between now and the end of the season I’m not convinced the manager will have this pairing in his mind for next season.
A generous CQN’er, who would like to remain below radar, has offered £1000 sponsorship of the CQteN Dream Team, if 125 people submit a team. The Dream Team is your chance to select your team from those who have played 10 or more games during the CQN decade.
Select 11 players in either a 4-3-3 or 4-4-2 formation; you’ll need a goalkeeper, two full backs, two central defenders, 3 or 4 midfielders and 2 or 3 forwards. You also need to select a manager from the decade.
The team judged as the strongest will be announced at the CQteN St Patrick’s Dinner on 14 March. The event is open to bloggers and lurkers but you can only enter ONCE. Closing date is 3pm, Sunday 9 March. There will be prizes!!
So far around 60 people have entered teams so we have lots to do to hit the £1000 target. For a comprehensive list of players who are eligible for selection, see CRC’s comment here. Email your entry to Doc here, and remember to include a manager: doccqten@gmail.com

@oor mags
in your letter, a classic by

I know I am wasting my time, what is the answer ?
All I can do is keep banging on, in the hope that someone will listen, I can’t stop believin, I just can’t.
If I stop, I die.
I get chastised for telling people to withold their cash, you can’t win.
Muney is all they care about, take that away from them, they have feck all, that is all we have, and the sooner people wake up to this the better.
Anyways, of into the cave to dream of days where we are no at the back of te bus.

…..
It’s been a long time since I posted on here, lurked every day, and a blog that is third to none IMO.
Anyways, I said many moons ago that they would get away with it, and in a sence they did, they have managed to dump a serious amount of debt, upwards of 150 mill is serious, they still have an uncanny control of the media, they can still bend the rules that others seem to not be able to.
Why am I posting again ?
They will get away with it again.
They will reinvent themselfs in another guise, they will get another licence, they will be debt free, they will still have the same hold over the media, they will still have the same clout within the SFA.
I was barred from here years ago for saying this, and I fully expect to be barred again for telling the truth.
….
I honestly don’t know why I bother really >}

Germany.A wonderful place.
West Germany.Until `89.
East Germany disastrous satellite of U.S.S.R.
Current day Germany.
A monument to rampant capitalism.
A wee statistic…….Days lost to strikes in car manufacturing in U.K. in the `70s were ten times those lost in Germany.
TET. Many of us have been here been there. Its very frustrating.
There are many Celtic supporters who (in my opinion) see the big picture like yourself.
You touched on it last night when you mentioned finances.
Starve them of their life blood. Its the only solution.
However, we cannot even organize an away boycott. For one game.
It may have been 67 or TD the other night that mentioned a 20k core Celtic support that will pay to see Celtic no matter what. That cannot be defeated even though the Celtic support is millions globally as espoused by Mourinho last weekend. (Do you know that
there are more Celtic supporters in new Zealand than there are Tottenham supporters total?)
It beggars belief that Celtic are so hamstrung.
Again in my opinion the current bored plan on the 20k or so as the only definite. They have no vision. They even protect the SFA. The glorious hun pension plan that went on for decades and continues still, and attack the GB. Sad days for Celtic supporters if we cannot understand and grasp this once in a 140 year opportunity to bury those bastards. Being burdened with a bonus seeking bored is a major disappointment.

A very emotive post however i am not sure what your intention was. Was it in reaction to ‘The roll of honour’ being in the British charts? As you know this has heehaw to do with Celtic FC. It is however an attempt to highlight the rank hypocrisy and stupidity of a law passed by a Scots government that is being used to criminalize a section of young Celtic supporters.
Celtic FC has always had an element within its support who are overt supporters of the Irish Republican movement. Does this mean all Celtic supporters are? No it doesn’t and to equate being a Celtic supporter with being a supporter of the IRA or any other Irish nationalist paramilitary group is utter nonsense. It is the stuff of poor journalists and gullible readers.
The debate on the perceived rights and wrongs of singing Irish nationalist songs during Celtic games is one which has gone on for generations the same arguments being regurgitated over and over again from within the Celtic support.
In closing we can all list acts of terror perpetrated by both sides of the Irish conflict. You can list others as can I but to what end.
Stephen McConomy 11 years old, deliberately shot in the head at point blank range with a rubber bullet – fired by a British Soldier.
“I support Celtic, not the British Army” – see it is just as stupid a statement as yours.

So Germany’s a an example of ‘rampant’ capitalism. Is this the Germany where workers are often represented at board meetings, or the Germany that has a welfare system as generous as anywhere in the western world? Hardly rampant. It seems to me that Germany’s relative economic success is based on it’s higher levels of co-operation (as oppossed to all out coercion) between government, business and unions.
So the police think that by “hammering” people who have a ‘single fish’ in the side-streets of the city centre, they are preventing them becoming involved in violent crime later on the in the night?
That seems to be the most tenuous link I have ever heard, a brammer even by the police’s standards
If the police weren’t allowed to fine people they caught doing it, do you think they would still pull them up so they don’t ‘become involved in violent crime later in the night’
Of course they wouldn’t
Why we have to put up with a joke of a self-indulgent police force in this day and age is a sad indictment on how politicians have allowed them free reign in what they do and how they try to justify it
I would have slightly more respect for them if they just said that it was an easy £60 for them so was a no-brainer that they do it.
Vote Hoopy-do for police commissioner

What’s your views on Kettling?
Marrakesh Express, ACGR, don’t get me wrong, I don’t like the MSM. I don’t buy newspapers. I listen to phone ins for comedic value alone.
What I am saying is, for Celtic, they are a necessary evil, and have to be engaged with as a large section of the support still rely on the MSM for news, bizarre as that is, it’s a reality.
Morning btw.
