Taxpayers do not sponsor lazy gossips

I know what you were thinking; Zenden, like Ljungberg, but older.  We need experience in the squad but with Commons, Ledley, Samaras and McCourt all able to stake a claim for the left midfield position this is the last place we need to bring in a 35-year-old.  Best of luck to the player but I’m pleased he has left Glasgow.

Today’s Sun report that a senior policeman witnessed a crime being committed but instead of doing what he is paid to do, he reported the incident to Uefa.  You have to wonder about the veracity of the crime.  The officer will do well to explain his actions if they amount to anything more than a few lines in a newspaper.

We are all partisan in this city but Justice is blind to such emotions and taxpayers (that’s you and me) do not sponsor lazy gossips.

Thoroughly enjoyed last night with Paddy G

Today was good, as managed to meet Kit and also put a few more faces to names. Estadio even extracted himself from Sharkeys to make an appearance. I hear Sharkeys was devastated at their most important client jumping ship :-)

  3. Re the old V the young uns

Sadly, I’m old enough to remember the Lisbon Lions team. The entire eleven.

Mr Stein started bringing in young guys to everybody’s disgust. After all, who could replace the Lions. Young McGrain, David Hay, Dalglish, Macari etc etc etc. They were ok.!!!!Nobody thought they’d tie the laces of the Lions but that they did with some style too.

KoJo is dead right as usual, we really need to give our young guns “Air Time” or else we’ll stagnate and slide .

    Hail Hail

Aye, Estadio, met him in Sharkey’s a couple of weeks ago with Vhman et al. He was sat there like he was holding Court.

Paddy G is a decent Bhoy.

Any arrangements for the 2nd December yet?

I wonder if it is ‘offensive’ to celebrate/ commemorate the actions of the French resistance during the second world war?

  6. Fenian is not offensive, up to our knees in fenian blood is, fenian bastard is,

If the Celtic support ever get into trouble for singing Paddy McCourt’s fenian army then the baws burst (if it’s not already)

    The never ending songs debate.

The establishment are offended, and so called Celtic supporters are bending over backwards to appease them.

We have no illegal or sectarian songs, we have no illegal or sectarian chants, and yet they are still offended, open your eyes people, WE are what they are offended by.

Many on here think that if we stop singing about the IRA everything will be alright, jeezo, and I thought it was the hun who is deluded.

They will not stop until we are gone.

Thought this was quite funny, sorry if it’s been posted…hun man

Relevant points however not sure anyone sings about the WWII resistance at a football match.

There’s a time and a place IMO that isn’t at Celtic Park

Why this is wonderful news! a clear case of intolerable institutional bias in Scotland can now be demonstrated to UEFA, paving the way to leaving this Rancid league for another more fair one.

Disgusting to hear about accusations from a 3rd party when your own home police force cannot be bothered to tell you you are in bother or do their jobs.

Scotland is in more bother than I thought.

  18. KingLubo,

I too well remember the Lisbon Lions but I don’t remember anybody objecting to the likes of Danny McGrain coming in to the team. They were nicknamed the Quality Street Gang and, bhoy, they were class. But they were brought very gradually into an already very good team. Quite a difference to the situation pertaining now. We have to be very cautious before blooding them in the SPL.

  19. Just in from mass and thought I would have a quick look in before I go out again.I have followed Celtic for more than 50 years ,,and i can honestly say that i have never been offended by any singing by the wonderfull Celtic support.Let the people sing, loud and clear.Slan

What’s my issue with the IRA? What’s my thoughts on Gandhi/Mandela?

Look, I’ve got no interest in making light of an issue like the troubles, and right now i’m missing the good ol’ days where I just lurked and was happy to support celtic. All I’ll say is it’s too easy to turn those questions back at you in a way that ends up p*ssing you/others off even more so than I perhaps already have over an issue that usually I just ignore. So I’ll decline to answer you.

I’ve seen rangers trolls on here plenty of times, so I ‘get’ that some people are extra wary of people not toeing the party line on here, but it was crazy how quickly i was called a hun and told to go F**k myself. In the interests of moving the debate back to actual club matters, I’m going to take the night off from CQN.

Celtic fans face FIFA sanctions after complaints of sectarian chanting

Last updated at 5:55 PM on 12th November 2011

Celtic could face UEFA sanctions after police raised concerns over chants sung by supporters during their recent Europa League game against Rennes at Parkhead.

It is understood that Strathclyde Police made the UEFA delegate aware of what they termed ‘offensive’ singing during Celtic’s 3-1 victory on November 3.

The news comes amid reports UEFA have opened a disciplinary case against Celtic over ‘discriminatory chanting’.

    ================

So there we have it – the Daily Mail manages to call it “offensive”, “sectarian” and “discrimanatory” chanting all in the one article.

The club really need to go on the offensive here – it’s open season on us.
