Taxpayers do not sponsor lazy gossips

I know what you were thinking; Zenden, like Ljungberg, but older.  We need experience in the squad but with Commons, Ledley, Samaras and McCourt all able to stake a claim for the left midfield position this is the last place we need to bring in a 35-year-old.  Best of luck to the player but I’m pleased he has left Glasgow.

Today’s Sun report that a senior policeman witnessed a crime being committed but instead of doing what he is paid to do, he reported the incident to Uefa.  You have to wonder about the veracity of the crime.  The officer will do well to explain his actions if they amount to anything more than a few lines in a newspaper.

We are all partisan in this city but Justice is blind to such emotions and taxpayers (that’s you and me) do not sponsor lazy gossips.

  1. Ah of course. Turns out i HATE when the scumbags amongst the support (yes there are scumbags at Parkhead) associate the club with the IRA. Therfore, I am a hun. It’s sound logic.

BPA I’m not going to waste my time justifying myself while you act coy. It’s obvious what I’m talking about.

And as for me being a hun, not all celtic fans (not by a long shot) love anything with a tricolour attached to it. Guinness yes, the craic yes, aiden mcgeady yes. But other aspects shouldn’t be heard anywhere near celtic park/civilised company.

  2. This a win win for Ragers.

Celtic found guilty. We told you we are no worse than them.

Celtic found not guilty. We told you UEFA full of anti Rager kaflliks.

Brilliant post, captures everything I’m thinking about this total farce. You may have meant three weeks, but you were right first time.

They are not going to sit back and let us have un-opposed access to EUFA cash for the next 3 years if they are found guilty and given the medicine they deserve for their off-field irregularities.

If you do not know, how can you have a reasonable opinion on the matter?

When PL made his statement about unacceptable chants,

he was very careful to choose the term PROVISIONAL-IRA.

This because it was only those sung at Tynecastle,

that do not normally appear in the repertoire

about PIRA that could be deemed unacceptable (in Scotland)

That which we sing each and every other week,

are perfectly acceptable as there is nothing questionable about them,

other than in the eyes of the bigot.

    Must try harder KOJO

  5. Bloke 109,

Sorry for being silly. I did not see the start of the match.

However, if the issue is as serious as the English made out, I’m sure they could have arranged arm-bands that didn’t just fall off given the esteem in which the flower is supposedly held.

  6. James Forrest is Lennon – great piece. I disagree a bit about chants about the IRA but still, one of the best things I’ve read on this site.

You have out done yourself with that post.

I sir, are a wordsmith! I am sure you have managed to encapsulate what thousands of Celtic fans believe but couldnt articulate.

Do you know what, having guys like you on ‘my’ side also reassures me that my own views and opinions are right!

We’ll know soon whether there is merit in these charges.

However it does once again highlight the potential difficulties in mixing your politics with sport. I have some strong political beliefs and in my time I have marched for them and spoken out for them. However, the minute I pass through those turnstiles I leave them behind , this is my time with my team.

My best remembered times at Celtic Park , involve Glen Daly , Gerry and Pacemakers and Depoche Mode songs adopted and sung with relish by the faithful. They have stirred me and on occassion made me cry. The other songs I can in the main appreciate there context but they leave me cold compared to those songs that generate passion and pride and stirr the team along. The political songs have never helped 10 men over the line or help the team score a last minute winner. They have a time and a place but that has never been at a Celtic game because those songs don’t win points and they don’t win trophies Glen and Gerry and Depoche Mode amongst many others have!

  9. Im having a right day of typo’s – I wasnt blowing sunshine up my own… was supposed to say ‘You sir, are a wordsmith’

I’ve been a member of this site in one form or another for a few years. I definitely lurk more than I post, but I can assure you I haven’t just signed today to try and ‘troll’. I’m saying what I really think. And what, because it doesn’t quite fit in with the views of a lot of the other posters on this site I’m a hun?

Maybe it’s a generation thing, but with any celtic-supporting friends of mine what I said wouldn’t even approach being controversial.

What about ‘the Celtic song’ a lot of peepil find that offensive.

  14. Its also such a great shame this Celtic news has distracted everything away from the daily rangers audacity to write in print for all to see that the huns were considering ‘swooping’ for A. An aberdeen reject and B. Free agent

  15. I was at the Rennes game in question and the atmosphere that night was incredible from a half-empty stadium.

The ONLY song that night that I recall that could be described as “offensive” to some people would have been the Celtic Symphony with its “ooh aah up the rah” chorus.

If that is the extent of the complaint then I am sure the club will be exonerated.

  18. The only song I can think the polis can be offended by- and lets be honest there was no one else in the ground offended by any songs that night- would be the homage to the egyptian sun god- and I’d love to see them try to prove how the word Ra equates with an Irish freedom movement. Interesting times with polis having ignored the Orcs bile for years suddenly deciding to put us in our place- political pressure maybe- or were they just getting the GB back for the rebuff of the polis charge in the dons game. I hear the FAC meeting was hijacked by the orcs thug group looking for Tims to batter- I bet the polis were posted missing at the time

  19. To me The Celtic Song sung by *Shane McGowan* during the H/T break was offensive………..Glen Daly or nought…………
