Taxpayers do not sponsor lazy gossips

1055

I know what you were thinking; Zenden, like Ljungberg, but older.  We need experience in the squad but with Commons, Ledley, Samaras and McCourt all able to stake a claim for the left midfield position this is the last place we need to bring in a 35-year-old.  Best of luck to the player but I’m pleased he has left Glasgow.

Today’s Sun report that a senior policeman witnessed a crime being committed but instead of doing what he is paid to do, he reported the incident to Uefa.  You have to wonder about the veracity of the crime.  The officer will do well to explain his actions if they amount to anything more than a few lines in a newspaper.

We are all partisan in this city but Justice is blind to such emotions and taxpayers (that’s you and me) do not sponsor lazy gossips.

yeah maybe it was only me how disappointed I was at the time whem big Tam Gemmell wasn’t playing etc or if Stevie Chalmers was injured. They were the quality st gang for sure. I was talking really of their early start in the 1st team really.

Off out up to the driving range for a bit of , I suppose agony really, but nighty nighty all in Celtic Land.

  2. If the legislation is not on the statute book, how can it be used to charge any supporters or do UEFA’s rules have lower thresholds?

  4. Reasons to be Cheerful.

    1. It can be demonstrated that Rankers won their tainted leagues in the 90’s and 00’s illegally, with the blessing/ turning a blind eye of the SPL/SFA.

    2. It can be demonstrated that the rest of Scottish football were denied the chance of European Football because of the above.

    3. It can be demonstrated that a Celtic manager can be threatened with the loss of his life without the governing body SFA/SPL doing anything.

    4. It can be demonstrated that a Celtic manager can be assaulted at Tynecastle without that person being found guilty in a Scottish Court.

    5. It can be demonstrated that this country’s police force can report Celtic to UEFA without making any arrests or informing the club.

Time to go Celtic, DD and PL make it happen!

But was is the Strathclyde Police’s involvement if the legislation has not yet been enacted?

Surely they are tasked with upholding the law of the country. If the proposed legislation is just that and is not on the statute book, on what grounds did the police get involved.

It will get nowhere with EUFA bud, BUT,

the damage is done in media terms.

The sun, sky, daily mail, the scotsman,

wee daft fitba sites such as goal.com and footymad and

also international sites such as fox sports,

have all lapped it right up.

  8. I listened to Jabba on shortbread earlier (only for a couple of minutes mind) and from the polis statement Jabba had concluded that we were singing offensive Ra songs and that it was all the Green Brigades fault- and from that why did the club allow them their own section- but at least that meant that the polis would have all of our names and addresses, and so be able to nab us for our misdeeds- watch the hun media milk this dry- they will call us for everything and use it to promote every agenda they have against our club, our culture and our support- and I imagine the Green Brigade will be an early target

a very important point you highlight.

Surely it has to to be the focus of the clubs response.

The officer had NO GROUNDS on which to report whatever songs are in question.

The police report it to Uefa because there is no.offensive legislation. I hope Uefa throw it out because the songs are not sectarian.

Political intervention I would think, something has been niggling away at me since the government decided to have their summit, and I still can;t work out why the need for their new legislation, the existing laws were sufficient if they were indeed intent on stamping out sectarainism and I can’t see the need to balance/even out the figures as the reason, so there must be another agenda here, but what that is scares me.

There could be many agendas, but I would not be surprised that a version of internment is the goal, I think it’s been tested out on the GB, some getting locked up for the WE for nothing other than offending the establishment.

This sort of stuff happened not that long ago on an island not too far away from Glasgow.

Naw it would never happen in scotland, would it, scotland that gives santuary and protection to what’s his name, that mad dog thing, oh aye Jonny Adair, naw would never happen in scotland.

    Duuuuuuuu.

I take it that’s the point of the complaint?

There is no legislation, therefore wee need legislation,

therefore giving more weight in the police et all argument for proposed legislation.

‘The UEFA Control and Disciplinary Body has confirmed the following sanctions against Rangers FC after the two legs of their UEFA Europa League round of 16 tie against PSV Eindhoven.

Following a charge of discriminatory behaviour at the first leg away to PSV on 10 March, Rangers have been fined €40,000. The club is also restricted from selling any tickets to its supporters for two away matches in UEFA club competition (with the respective home clubs also not authorised to sell tickets to Rangers supporters). This ban applies to Rangers’ next away match and is suspended for the second away match for a probationary period of three years.

The Control and Disciplinary Body also fined the Scottish club a further €40,000 for discriminatory behaviour at the second leg in Glasgow on 17 March, and ordered Rangers to play their next home UEFA club competition match behind closed doors. However, this sanction is deferred for a probationary period of three years.

An appeal by the club must be made within three days of the dispatch of the reasoned decision.
