For a decade or more Celtic produced prodigious youth teams but watched as Dundee United, Hibs, Hearts even Hamilton Accies graduated more effective adult players. Key to this is perhaps ensuring that players are tested at a higher level at key times in their development. In short, if you have not played regular first team football by the time you are 22 there is a good chance you will not fulfil your potential.
There is cost to this development, you’re not going to win all the time, especially when the two teenage central midfielders are surrounded by other young players: Adam Matthews, 20, Tony Watt, 18 and James Forrest, 21. Half time substitute, Victor Wanyama, is still only 21.
I’m looking forward to seeing more teenage kicks in the coming months.

got stornaway black pudding brought down and was told to freeze it as i couldn’t eat it all at once..
forgot to cut it up before freezing….
had to use an electric saw to cut it up….

Stornoway Black Pudding lovers…
Vincent butchers on Hyndland Street in Partick sell full rolls of Stornoway Black and White Pudding, no more than £10.
Also Roots and Fruits in Kelvinbridge sell the smaller rolls of Black for about a fiver.
Another butcher on Dumbarton Road round the corner from Vincents sells it too but can’t mind it’s name.
Celinos on Alexandra Parade sells it too, but no’ cheaply! ;-)

Nearly 50 years since we were a team of note in Europe. Our Old Firm acceptance ruined the standard of Scottish football. While it is a protection racket and a pension plan for the huns we will never develop a team like that again. Sabotage and a poor environment will see to that. We need to ensure at this juncture in history that the football bodies are cleared up fully and pronto like. We historically pass up on opportunities like the present one. If we dont see the job through this time another 50 years in the wilderness awaits us. Player development and club finances fall well behind in the list of priorties at the monent. The increased cheating we have witnessed since the start of the season with the common body being referees I hope is the sign of a dying empire. If it is not then we have the wrong people in charge of the club and the wrong structure.
I dont know about everybody else but my expectations of the Celtic board to step up to the plate has never ever been higher.
