Teenage Matthews excels on Celtic right

1021

The most interesting point to make about Adam Matthews is that, for another month anyway, he is still a teenager.  You and I have seen enough of these games to know that the occasion has a habit of consuming inexperienced youth but Adam patrolled Celtic’s right with remarkable authority last night.  All the more remarkable considering this was his first game back after injury.

Football business for 2011 is finished and new signing, Swedish international right back, Mikael Lustig (25), is now available for selection.  At 6’3” Mikael has previously played in central defence but Neil Lennon insisted the player was primarily recruited as a right back but, despite the rate Celtic right backs pick up injuries, the need appears greater in central defence.  It’s hard to see Adam Matthews losing the right back berth.

There is just one incorrection in what you stated, we have 15 right backs.

  2. Could the BBC highlights be any more ridiculous? No Hooper offside decision to review. Failure to show two outrageous tackles from them. Shockingly bad.

  3. I tell you what, the combination of the Festive Season and Celtic riding high isn’t doing my liver any good. I can’t remember the last time I had a dry night!

Ach, what the hell, time for another malt……..

it is under celtic ownership with a view to development, dont know the time lines, but before common wealth games commence in 2014 i would suspect. (celtic fc triange) here’s hoping i think it woould be money spinner.

  5. Mr X,

Go for it I say. I’m enjoying my favourite Talisker right now (with a wee touch of ……Talisker ontop).

Who wants to start a ‘water in malt whisky’ debate?

For the record, I’m firm;y of the belief that the only thing to be added to whisky is more whisky.

Our sources can also reveal that the scrooge-like Peter lawwell has so far refused to acknowledge the good work of these kind hearted care bears.

Last night was magic, absolutely magic. It raised my spirits so much.

I am delighted for Neil, for the team, for the supporters who put on their own magnificent performance but mostly for the Irish supporters, who endured such horrendous travelling.

    We will win this league.

As Mr X says the holidays have not been good for the old liver, but I think we have an excuse given the recent results.

Whiskey and whisky are two similar but very different things. The inclusion of the ‘e’ means it is Irish or American. Scottish or ‘Scotch’ is ‘whisky’.

I do enjoy Irish Whiskey (Tullimore Dew is particularly nice) and many a bourbon or sour mash – but for me the best is a peaty whisky from Islay or Skye (where my personal fave Talisker is from).

Regardless, the same rules regarding additives apply!!!

Ah, yes, Saint Dominic’s Preview was the album this came from. Magnificent. Van actually lives (or “stays”) quite near me in South County Dublin, when I am not in Dushanbe.

He is not a football man, before anyone asks.
