The gift of focus for Ajax

695

The last minute goal fell Celtic’s way at the weekend but Wednesday’s opponents, Ajax, were on the receiving end of the sucker punch, losing to a last minute goal at home to Vitesse, just a week after a goalless draw at home to joint bottom Waalwijk.  The Dutch champion’s only win in their last five games was at home to lower league opposition six days ago.

So what does this mean for Celtic?  It means Ajax have found various ways not to approach the Celtic game.  The last thing teams need ahead of a crucial game is an easy or flattering result, far better to show up your mistakes.

If Celtic take the lead, we might find Ajax confidence sinks rapidly, but they will approach the game full of focus, dangerous and with a point to prove.

It’s Christmas time…….

The Celtic FC Foundation (new name for Celtic Charity) Christmas Appeal has been launched.  The 125 Anniversary activities have considerably reenergised the Celtic Movement in getting back to where is all started – looking after those in need.

The Christmas Appeal aims to provide 150 local families who would otherwise go without, a Christmas meal, with gifts for younger kids.

The Celtic support will be helping people through Glasgow East Women’s Aid, Spirit Aid, the Glasgow Simon Community, Loaves and Fishes, The Wayside Club, Glasgow City Mission and Lodging House Mission.

Details of how to help online, and in person, are available here.

Offensive Behaviour Act

Scottish Parliament Justice Committee convenor, Christine Grahame, has agreed to discuss an Early Review of the Act on the agenda for tomorrow’s Justice Committee meeting.  Three members of the Committee are already committed to a Review, details on how to contact others on the committee – it has to be today, they meet tomorrow – are available here, on the Trust website.

Respect for your thoughts and position.

It makes me cry to the heavens for justice.

How shameful that it is Celtic and our wonderful support’s conscience to uphold what is true that brings many to such a decision. A travesty that our club should suffer, but Ultimately we are paying to be in an abusive relationship.

It’s such a difficult choice as Celtic have been the one constant in my life and all that it brings. How sad and perverse that such stark choices have to be made. Choosing anything other than the truth and we become liars and party to the charade.

The club must act for good, there is no choice, other than we are riven.

Sadly too many Celtic supporters either want a Rangers or will accept a Rangers. Celtic is run like every other business. Their main objective is to make money and they believe they will make more with a Rangers. They don’t seem to care about the volume of support they’ll lose by deciding to go down this route. This is the reality I see.

I’d rather have a fair and equal competition than one that exists to prop up one team. If that means a poorer team on the park then that is a price we should pay but I don’t see why that has to be the case.

It doesn’t matter if the board secretly support the resolution. If they vote it down. It sends a very clear message that the good governance of the game means less then making money. That will leave Celtic supporters with a choice. To continue to financial support a panto. The Old firm.

It wont be long before we see how the first meeting with Newco is billed and received. I reckon it’s going to be heart-breaking. We could have and should have put them out of the game. We should not be giving them a helping hand up.

The jury is still out for me but the test is on November 15th.

The choice is going to be made by five board members.

If/when we lose the block vote ballot at the AGM, some will pursue it further, some will give up and some will find something else to spend their time and money on.

It’s my opinion that is a choice for the individual to make I wont be falling out with anyone. I will be grateful to those who voted Yes to the resolution.

The Huns would have to accept whatever status, guise, call it what you will. They should be allotted whatever they are due, no negotiation, nothing. The Great Deceivers must be made to face justice, not erect a facade that the horrible a can feed from.

    Simply put, face the truth.

  7. John Park accompanied Big Pete to China .

Maybe a few Chinese signing in January?

Anyone know anything about prominent players over there ?

  8. Jude2005 – just had my Toshiba debugged and anti-virused etc Also took the opportunity to buy a portable Hard Drive to remove all my files as I am told they can slow down Laptops – if you have a lot of Pictures etc

Also maybe try going to ‘Uninstall Programmes’ on the ‘Control Panel’ (you’ll get there on the main start up menu usually bottom left of your screen?) and go through and see what extra internet browsers and toolbars you’ve inadvertently downloaded and ‘uninstall’ them.

Deleting your ‘Browsing History’ can also speed things up. (usually under ‘Tools’ on your main toolbar when you’re on the Internet – there should be an option to delete browsing history or similar) Can wip passwords and stuff from sites you visit frequently but it’s no biggy.

I am no expert though and that is probably very basic stuff I’m telling you. The advice on here re techie stuff is usually pretty good.

  9. We decided that The Rangers Group of Clubs should not be mentioned on this year’s CQN Annual. With guys like Phil writing for the Annual that was a hard task. However we managed to achieve that and we have 228 lovely pages all about Celtic.

A bit of a heads up. Keep Friday 14 March 2014 free in all CQN diaries. CQN is ten and it is party time! We are away to Kilmarnock the next day incidentally.

Anyone hear Malcolm Murray on the Alan Brazil Talk sport

    show this morning ?

The guy is a complete buffoon.

He called out Brazil saying his origins were Irish.

Then stated the Irish have gone abroad but not for

    the same reasons.

“They were not building the British empire like us”

The deluded zombie misinformed the listeners about them

having the 4th highest attendances in the UK. Wrong Malcolm.

Not to mention free tickets or Div 3 prices.

Murray mentioned them as a global brand, he spouted that they

have “fantastic fans who are the most educated in corporate finance

    and governance”. Eh !

Sorry if already posted it just beggars belief that this guy was chairman

(failed) of that lot. His comments speak volumes of an attitude that

still exists not only amonst the hordes but their leaders.

    They deserve each other.

  12. My passion is CELTIC. No interest whatever in the ole O.. F… Let them die for ever and a day.

It seems Aberdeen are starting to play football. Great news. They join ourselves, DU and PT. I think St Mirren and Ross County do as well. That is a good start. Scotland needs to get every senior team playing the game properly if we are to progress.

He still holds a candle for The Arabs but no one is perfect…..

  20. It will be mighty disappointing if Sevco are accepted back as what Oldco was. SFTB makes some very good points and I kind of agree. They will be what people make them.

After 100 plus years of bitter rivalry and after discovering that bigotry and supremicism are two things that are indeed liquidation proof even when a Football Club is not, it is evident that whatever ‘totem’ the extremes of the RFC (IL) support attach themselves to will be very similar to the old one that was liquidated.

It will be up to us how we accept them, how we view them and how we interact with them to some extent. If we get over hyped when we eventually have to play NuRangers, if we get unduly worried by losing to them, if we get unduly excited by beating them then I’m afraid we as individuals will have played our part in allowing the Same Club deception to live. Most of all – and I speak only for myself here and I do not presume to tell others their faults – if I allow myself to fall back in to the hatred I had for the Old Rangers then I myself will have missed an opportunity to bury their potential to damage me.

When they come to CP, if I get a chance I will go to the game. Not because I want to experience another Glasgow Derby, far from it, but because I want to support Celtic against any team. If a team rolls up with supporters who are intolerant, racist, bigoted then I will want Celtic to beat their team more than I want us to beat teams whose supporters are not like that collectively. Being honest after the Ajax fans disgraced their club two weeks ago I am wanting us to beat them all the more because of it. I’d feel the same about Hamburg or Chelsea or the Racists of CSKA. I’m sure Nu Rangers supporters will engender that feeling in me too. But I don’t want to allow the week before and the week after the game to dominate my life the way games against Old Rangers did. And I am in entire control of that.

    Goodnight all.
