The last minute goal fell Celtic’s way at the weekend but Wednesday’s opponents, Ajax, were on the receiving end of the sucker punch, losing to a last minute goal at home to Vitesse, just a week after a goalless draw at home to joint bottom Waalwijk. The Dutch champion’s only win in their last five games was at home to lower league opposition six days ago.
So what does this mean for Celtic? It means Ajax have found various ways not to approach the Celtic game. The last thing teams need ahead of a crucial game is an easy or flattering result, far better to show up your mistakes.
If Celtic take the lead, we might find Ajax confidence sinks rapidly, but they will approach the game full of focus, dangerous and with a point to prove.
It’s Christmas time…….
The Celtic FC Foundation (new name for Celtic Charity) Christmas Appeal has been launched. The 125 Anniversary activities have considerably reenergised the Celtic Movement in getting back to where is all started – looking after those in need.
The Christmas Appeal aims to provide 150 local families who would otherwise go without, a Christmas meal, with gifts for younger kids.
The Celtic support will be helping people through Glasgow East Women’s Aid, Spirit Aid, the Glasgow Simon Community, Loaves and Fishes, The Wayside Club, Glasgow City Mission and Lodging House Mission.
Details of how to help online, and in person, are available here.
Offensive Behaviour Act
Scottish Parliament Justice Committee convenor, Christine Grahame, has agreed to discuss an Early Review of the Act on the agenda for tomorrow’s Justice Committee meeting. Three members of the Committee are already committed to a Review, details on how to contact others on the committee – it has to be today, they meet tomorrow – are available here, on the Trust website.

I know how Celtic have responded to the resolution. I know PL has evidence for that not to be Celtic’s stance.
I know who from Celtic has said what about what they talk of what they call the Rangers situation. It’s not just the say, hear and speak no evil stance, cause they do say and do some things.

When a team has an unfair sporting advantage, they don’t need to invest as much to win games/trophies.
There lies a problem:

The Oldco should not have been given a licence in 2011. The newco should not have been allowed into Division three.
The will be treated with privilege in whatever form they exist.
To all the Guys going to to Amsteram, enjoy, I was there for the 1.3 game

Christ those huns are hurting badly.
The worst that I can ever remember.
Long may their suffering continue.
Malorbhoy,
I’m on the 12:18 out of Dodge, should be in Amsterdam around 17:00 may catch up for a pint. I’m hoping that my hotel, the one I’m having my tickets sent to, hasn’t been burnt to the ground. So far no reply to 3 e-mails and phone is constantly engaged.
To quote Nigel Powers “There’s two things I hate in this world. One is intolerance of other peoples’ cultures. The other is the Dutch.” Only joking before the PC police kick my door down ;-)

Really, what off RTC ?
Agreed, they did dig their own the hole, but were put in it by the highlight off the corruption going on… Not by the msm.
Surely, you recognise the part played in it by bloggers, to seek justice?
Newco, will eventually play a part in Scottish footballs top teir as the knuckle grinders will make sure of it.
It doesn’t mean we just accept it.

wanting to distance celtic from sevco is fine by me, but we are going about it all wrong. the way we alter the relationship is by altering the landscape of Scottish football to make sure title battles become more open to all our bigger teams.
celtic are on a different planet from the rest in the spl, aberdeen, hibs and hearts are much of a sameness in that they could potentially get bigger crowds (15,000 – 20,000) into their ground if doing well. After that group, we have several clubs Dundee united, Motherwell, St Johnston, Kilmarnock etc… that are likely to see 8,000 at their games when doing particularly well.
if celtic are pushed hard for the title the apathy among celtic fans would soon be replaced, every point would become a prisoner and we would see greater interest. if one or more of Aberdeen, hibs, hearts were among a top of the table dingdong fans apathy about not being able to win the league would be replaced with excitement about potentially winning it. the more successful the teams at challenging the more likely the fans will turn out. more fans equals more income and the ability to build and maintain good teams.
The small league setup suites celtic and (rangers RIP) and potentially sevco in the future more than any other team. 4 games against us and them equals 8 games that kill competition stone dead. a bigger league (I would prefer 18 teams) is a must to allow said teams more opportunities to challenge for the title, to reduce fans apathy, to increase attendances by fixing the current setup (fix up).
a few weaker/ smaller teams i.e. Dundee, queen of the south, ayr united, Hamilton, Livingston, Dunfermline, sevco, Falkirk, raith rovers etc, it might be argued would weaken the league overall, but it would also act to ignite the league title involving several clubs each year which would promote the games overall health rather than the ‘old firm’. throw in european and relegation playoffs and all but a handful of clubs would have nothing to play for by april or may time.
celtic can stop the strangle hold that the ‘old firm’ have on Scottish football by promoting a league that is designed with every other team in mind.

Will do shaping up well so far
