Ronny Deila’s dream of reconstructing the Dundee United team of 2014 is on track as United have agreed terms for the sale of striker Nadir Ciftci, who is set to join Stuart Armstrong and Gary MacKay-Steven in green and white hoops.
United are feeling sore at losing three players to a rival but it could be argued this deal is a positive result for them. They are no different than Celtic in needing to acquire good players who will enhance their team and generate transfer fees when they leave.
Armstrong and Mackay-Steven gave Celtic a timely boost when they arrived in the team in February. If Ciftci adapts as quickly he’ll do well.
Signing a backup goalkeeper is a tricky call. Do you blow a large slice of budget on a genuine contender for the goalkeeper’s jersey, or perhaps promote the next teenage David Marshall? Both are viable calls. If we sign Logan Bailly (29) for a fee from Belgian club Leuven the expectation at Lennoxtown is that he will push Craig Gordon.
That would leave us with competition across the field, apart from the left back slot…..

So after threatening the Greek people with expulsion from the EU if the did not vote yes, they are not trying to claim the question was invalid and the people had no right to be asked.
Bottom line is there is no process or procedure to remove a country from the EU once they are members, another problem created by themselves.
good heavens that really is exactly what the peepul want to hear….
“The company which owned Rangers was subsequently forced into administration while under Craig Whyte’s control and later went into liquidation”
boak inducing…
This is interesting
http://m.stv.tv/news/west-central/1324228-hmrc-in-legal-challenge-against-oldco-rangers-big-tax-case-ruling/
It suggests HMRC have changed tactics and are arguing that payments for employment are taxable at source regardless of initial recipient and not arguing on the sham nature of the ebt scheme that employed side letters.
Some folk with tax experience think this should have been done from the off.
If HMRC are successful this time and ebts used by RFC are illegal then the LNS Decision based (wrongly if you include the wtc ebts that were illegal)on ebts being legal has to be questioned.
If resisted, as I suspect it might be, then the fact that LNS was given the wrong terms of reference because key evidence was witheld from him in 2012 totally undermines any reason not to put that Commission aside.
If it can further be demonstrated that the same evidence was kept from the SFA in 2011 during licencing monitoring then the whole damage limitation exercise will blow up in the football authorities face.
Much depends on HMRC winning the appeal in order to put wrongs right.
an tearmann,
Thanks, a huge relief when we got somewhere. Almore has local connections and that got it across the line.
The venue takes 250, people I was thinking of doing tickets and offering to them to the people that have e mailed dublin2016@ mail.com first.
I have over 100 e mails already.

If it’s anything like 2005 you’ll be in for a treat.
Definitely going to go sometime.
borgo … you are more of a fan than me, for sure. It was my first time meeting KT’s family, and since they are all mad cricket fans, I watched it with them, just to try to get in their good books. but I learned a bit more about the strategy, etc., and actually ended up enjoying it.
never would have believed it myself …. the things we do for love, eh?
Rock Tree Bhoy
I see that and raise you a quote from Daily Record on line article
“AFTER it was ruled in 2012 that the EBT scheme used by Rangers was legal…”
Odegaard ?
For what it is worth –
Last Italian stuff I read had Benitez waiting to see him in a few friendlies before deciding what to do with him..Some rumor mongers have claimed that if he does go on loan , Benitez would prefer it to be a team in Spain and preferably a team close to Madrid . Getafe get a regular mention.

Silly point I know.
has that non-contributing fraudster BORGO67 been on lately ?
just teasing bud, before i start anything.
auldheid …
how you doing? that is an interesting read. I think we all know that the LNS hearing was a scam …. but I thought that, with HRMC fightng for tax money it would have been a more open procedure … but I cant shake the feeling that there are powerful people who (for a variety of reasons) dont want the full story to come out, and its full consequences felt …. really hope I’m wrong and it goes the way you suggest it may.

If you are still around….like I said earlier, who made you God.
Your sanctimonious tone is uncalled for.
I said Ciftci is dross and PL is a chancer….big deal.
If the Cult of Peter on CQN don’t agree…well. that’s just tough isn’t it.
We aren’t zombies yet.
The cheek of me eh….having doubts about the board.
Shocking.

Cifti could be a great signing. Young, inexpensive, technically good, room to improve, knows the Scottish game, and gives us a different option from Griffiths.
What’s not to like?
Some people really need to get a sense of perspective on here…
Unlike Sevo,
The costs will be for 2 doormen @ 100 each.
Food and music, I don’t know cost yet.
All income and expenses will be published.
Any surplus will go to the Kano Foundation.

Always for got to ask you (maybe I have done and just forgot that as well)
Do you know of Gerry Dee the comedian?
He is Mrs RWE’s first cousin and his granda used to play for the Hoops.
Here’s an episode of his sitcom on CBC “Mr. D”
I only post this to break the BMCUWP record for the longest link ever.

Rock Tree Boy.
The company was Rangers. Rangers Football Club Ltd.
The clue is in the title.
When Rangers applied for a UEFA licence it was as a club under *a) of Art 12 of UEFA FFP not a company under UEFA definition not as a company under (b) of the same rule.
When RFC applied for a National licence it was the club who applied, not some invented operating company.
I do wish they had been forced to go through the normal routine for a new club to become SFA members and not allowed to ask for RFC’S SFA Membership to be transfered.
That would have left no wriggle room.
I’d love to know who decided which route to follow and why.
No journalist attributed with the BBC article but we could guess:
“The challenge concerns the company which ran Rangers until 2012.”
and
“The company which owned Rangers was subsequently forced into administration while under Craig Whyte’s control and later went into liquidation.”
The Greeks were brainwashed into voting for Tsipras, an amateur, surrounded by amateurs, much like the Scots were with the SNP.
It’s all a game to these clowns.
Martin Odengaard,
told several times now, its a live option for th bhoy to come to celtic park. thats from 2 connections in Oslo and Madrid, both in the football world.
seems the boy is too choose.
ps, been told he is not settling in madrid set up for youths what so ever.
Odegaard signing would be a real coup. Looks a fantastic talent.
Clogher
All good work mate,I am sure you and Almore will sort it out fine,i dont know yet what i am at but if i am in Dublin i will be there :-)
HH
clogher … the easter gathering sounds tremendous … would love to make it … but, I’m not sure how far her good graces would stretch if I suggested going to Ireland and CP twice in such a short stretch! Might find out just how handy she is with a cricket bat!
Even if I cant make it, it sounds like you guys have done a great job organizing things, and should be commended for that.
ThompsonTwin, didn’t the SNP lose the referendum?

Biton only arrived back in the country last week. He was at Paisley with the squad but obviously wasn’t ready for any playing time.

Given the policy of silence when fed irrefutable proof that SPL lawyers were not provided with what they asked for which skewed the judgement and at least 2 journalists with brains agreed deception had taken place but did not publish, it’s pretty certain somebody higher up has been trying to keep a lid on it.
However others are working on turning up the gas burner.
Auldheid
Never forget how much your efforts mean,
Keep shining the light on them sir
Auldheid,
The potentially grave consequences of HMRC winning their Appeal, suggest to me that they will not win.
The Appalling Vista will just not be allowed. Too many people have been corrupted to date and the Establishment will prevail, sadly.

Good Morning CQN, Good Lead Paul. I mind CQN was a great site full of great posters all talking about Celtic past present and future and it would be my first and only stop for all things Celtic first thing in the morning to see what the moon howlers were saying and throughout the day, Of late it is just full of under whelmed people who complain no matter what the club does, Ciftci and Baily are our level now so back them, We can’t compete with england (who are ruining the football world imho) or some other countries so we must live within our means.
Not pro board by any means myself in terms of how they handled the sevco deal , or living wage or even the new sponsors but Celtic are still my club and I still support what they do. We have enough snipers without joining them.
Looking forward to the new season and my knickers will also remain untwisted with the signing of Ciftci. Another bad egg? No I think he will do well for us.
At least he’s proven in the SPFL instead of signing non goal scoring strikers.
Mon the Hoops and enjoy your day gents
KLV
West end East end I agree
Philbhoy I concur
C’mon the Hoops. We aRe celtic supporters.

from the same DR article….
“The 2012 ruling that the club had won the big tax case came after the company was liquidated for non-payment of another tax bill”
quite simple really, the company was gubbed but the club won.
