Dundee have played 12 games since losing 6-0 at Celtic Park in September, scoring in all but one of those occasions. Only Celtic and Aberdeen have kept them out in 21 games this season. They lost five last time out to Ross County (scoring twice), but scored four against Accies the week before. Season tickets at Dens are excellent value for money. There will be goals when Celtic visit tomorrow.
Kane Hemmings scored five of their six goals against County and Accies. He’s a direct player who makes runs from deep into space but a large portion of his goals come as a consequence of defensive errors. In short, he appears to run at defenders in anticipation of them making a mistake, not a wholly unproductive strategy for strikers playing against Celtic this season.
Ronny Deila will be keen Celtic build on the positives from Tynecastle, although the on-going absence of Leigh Griffiths will be a concern. I reckon we would have seen Carlton Cole at some point against Hearts if it were not for the plethora of injuries which restricted the manager’s options. Hearts had done their homework on Nadir Ciftci, who was well marshalled throughout. He can expect a similar night tomorrow.
Partick Thistle’s role in the title race will come into focus over the next week. They are on an excellent run ahead of tomorrow’s visit to Pittodrie at Saturday’s game at Celtic Park, having won their last four league games. You can win two Premium Seat tickets in the Jock Stein Stand for Saturday’s game, courtesy of Magners, if you answer this question:
Who was the last Partick Thistle manager to win four consecutive top flight games?
Email your answer in the SUBJECT line to celticquicknews@gmail.com before 17:00 tomorrow (30th). My Partick Thistle knowledge is limited, so editors decision if final……
And if you are so minded, having read what you’ve done already for Mary’s Meals in 2015, you can donate a £1 or so towards them here. Many thanks…………

Muddo McCloud.
Golfing the other day with a SPFL director.
Among topics discussed, he and many other directors of several clubs would like a 16 team league.
However, he and others are unlikely to vote for that because their clubs rely on the money from the 4 visits from “Old Firm” fans.
Asked about the conduct of said visiting fans apropos the recent bigotfest at the Crumbledome. His reply was shrugged shoulders and raised eyebrows.
The bigot pound is mightier than the meagre pound from a 100 strong ICT or Ross County support.

Well at least Spiers spoke about it, it’s a step in the right direction I suppose.
On reading back, I noticed that people have been reduced to watching a programme about Shane McGowan’s teeth.
Let me help, if someone hasn’t already.
There is a magnificent, though disturbing, documentary on Netflix, “Making A Murderer”.
Filmed over 10 years, it tells the story of a man wrongly convicted of rape, who, on being exonerated after serving 18 (yeah, that’s right, lady,18) years, thanks to the improvement in DNA testing methods, finds that his dealings with the criminal justice system in Wisconsin are far from over.
I am glad I am able to type this info to you, as getting it over orally would be difficult given the pain in my jaw from it dropping so regularly as I watched.
For those who might be understandably skint at this time of year, Netflix is doing a 30 day free trial, last I looked anyway.
You won’t regret it.
This is also by way of thanks to those on here who blessed me with “Breaking Bad”.
‘Mon The Mighty Hoops tonight, if the game beats the weather.
Just back from Dundee ( Piperdam Golf and Leisure Club). The weather was atrocious, very heavy rain and wind. We had to keep the speed down all the way back to Stirling. Even if the pitch was playable it would have been a nightmare for the players and supporters. Bring on Summer football

Game off,pity.
No doubt an Aberdeen victory will be hailed by the media,as they top the table. Nary a mention of our games in hand.
Having said that,I’d prefer the game to have been played as we need a good settled performance pdq.

Aye. But he reneged on naming the director who liked the Ould Numbers.
Hope PL and DD have had a listen to the soundtrack from Monday.

What about storm rab

For several hundred years many hurricanes in the West Indies were named after the particular saint’s day on which the hurricane occurred. For example, there was Hurricane Santa Ana which struck Puerto Rico with exceptional violence on July 26, 1825, and San Felipe (the first) and San Felipe (the second) which hit Puerto Rico on September 13 in both 1876 and 1928.
Clement Wragge, Director of the Queensland state meteorological department at the end of the 19th century, is credited with being the first person to systematically name storms after real people. The idea never really caught on. But it was revived in the 1940s by the American Weather Bureau when short-wave radio came into general use for the transmission of weather forecasts and warnings to shipping and aviation. Giving hurricanes nicknames was a very simple and quick way of identifying a particular storm from one day to the next. In 1953 the National Weather Service began using female names for storms.
For many years hurricanes and other tropical storms bore only girls’ names. In that era when political correctness had never been heard of, the exclusively male meteorological community in the USA considered female names appropriate for such unpredictable and dangerous phenomena. In the 1970s the growing numbers of female meteorologists began object to such a sexist practice, and from 1978 onwards girls’ and boys’ names alternated.
Retired Hurricanes
Hurricanes that have a severe impact on lives or the economy are remembered by generations after the devastation they caused, and some go into weather history. Whenever a hurricane has had a major impact, any country affected by the storm can request that the name of the hurricane be “retired” by agreement of the World Meteorological Organization (WMO).
Retiring a name actually means that it cannot be reused for at least 10 years, to facilitate historic references, legal actions, insurance claim activities, etc. and avoid public confusion with another storm of the same name. If that happens, a like gender name is selected in English, Spanish or French for Atlantic Storms. For example, Andrew retired in 1992, Gilbert 1988, Hugo 1989, Mitch 1998 and Lili in 2002.
The official list for hurricane names has been introduced by the NWS and is now regularly updated and maintained by the World Meteorological Organisation, covering not only the Atlantic/carribean sector, but all tropical cyclone areas. For the Atlantic sector six lists are used in rotation. Thus, the 2002 list will be used again in 2008
