They’ve burst your pretty balloon and taken the moon(beams) away

For decades complaints from you, your fathers and their fathers before them were dismissed.  Your accusations that your club and its supporters followed the rules, while others ignored them, were roundly derided as paranoia – a mental illness, no less.

If we’re being generous…..  there’s no denying some of us are paranoid (several million comments on CQN provides at least some evidence), but not most of you, and not on the central theme on which these accusations were based.

Get to bed early tonight, tomorrow the truth will out.  I’ll leave you with a Nat King Cole mood setter to help you chill.  If you watch it until the end you’ll see him mimicking playing a flute, memories of a happier time, for some.

Hey Jude, don’t make it bad

    Hey Jude, don’t be afraid

It is the integrity of others which is in question, not that of the Celtic support!

Why should we jeopardise what is so great about our club because of the corrupt actions of others?

Dont get me wrong, I’m no fan of Scottish football and, sadly, have realised over the years that most people who make up the population of the country of my birth are not people I want to associate with.

That is why Celtic are so important to me, as I’m sure they are to you. They are a celebration of the good things about Scotland and should be cherished by all.

I’ve been advocating Celtic getting out of the wee, bigoted country for many years. However, if it’s a choice between SPHell and the fate of Belfast Celtic, then it’s a no-brainer for me and the vast majority of our supporters will think the same way as me (I believe).

  8. The MSM might think (or hope) it’s good news Ticketus won’t oppose a CVA – but Ticketus, by pursuing Whyte, will surely back him into a financial corner. And the only way out for Whyte would be to sell his Ibrox shares/assets for as much as he can.

I suppose the other option for Whyte is to declare himself bankrupt, it seems to be the way of things nowadays.

At the same time, his chairman is falling over himself to show his real credentials to those of a cash-strapped persuasion……yet again. I think there is a colour missing from his blue and white Killie Boy scarf.

  14. It’s worth remembering that while there may not be massive amounts of new information in tonight’s expose as far as you and I are concerned, the wider population don’t spend their lives on football message boards discussing the minutae of Rangers’ wrong doing.

The impact of the information getting into the consciousness of the wider population may well be hard to quantify and the consternation of the non-footballing population might actually be more important in the wider scheme of things than the messages Doncaster et al are receiving from within football.

Thanks for posting that – very interesting. However, it would be wrong to use such a documentary as a symbol of alleged ‘BBC bias’.

Take a look at the credits for tonight’s doc and you’ll probably find those of Mark Daly himself, a cameraman, a couple of researchers, project manager, and producer – essentially this will be Mark Daly’s piece, using BBC resources. Obviously stuff will need to be legalled, but it won’t be anything like a flagship production. In other words, there won’t have been a producer (or team of producers) giving the programme an ideological slant.

Thanks again for a good read on the way to work.

  18. If like me you have young children, you may have been exposed to Ben and Holly’s Little Kingdom. There’s an episode that features all the characters shouting ‘jelly flood’. I’ll be tempted to play that at high volume out the window tonight.

  19. Marrakesh Express on

Last night’s game in Norwich was another PR boost for the club, and if the LL cared to admit it, the country too. How many times have Celtic fans travelled south over the years and done the club and themselves proud. My first venture was to the Jack Charlton testimonial in 1973. This game took place two days after the 3-2 defeat to the Rangers in the Scottish Cup Final. However we took 8000 to Leeds in great spirits, having won 8 in a row. I stood in the Leeds Kop which was mobbed with Celtic fans. I remember the home fans wanting to swap scarves and praising us to the hilt. Jinky ran the show and we won 4-3. That spectacle has been repeated many times since.

The English know we can be trusted, unlike RFCia who are practically barred from the country their umbilical chord is attached to. The biggest lie peddled by the MSM in this country is the ‘ones as bad as the other’ defence strategy, used every time the they riot, sing banned songs or land a UEFA sanction. We’ve had to put up with these blatant falsehoods for ages, just to balance things up and drag us into the gutter with them.

A major bonus from the ongoing RFCia scandal is the sense of vindication we can take from it. Even in the eyes of the most biased media lacky, RFCia have finally cut the chord which associated them with Celtic FC and the rest of Scottish Football.

Took the words out of my mouth. So much BBC stuff is bought in from 3rd party production companies now, that any bias will start to be eroded. It’s also worth remembering that the BBC is chasing viewing figures just like every other station, so it’s no longer the bastion of sober-minded reporting it once was, and is quite having with ‘explosive’ content.

If this documentary isn’t over-hyped, I expect there will be lots of explosive content around the underwear of the past Rangers hierarchy.

The Record has told how, before the sale, a private investigator’s report on Whyte’s business record was passed to the Ibrox board.

The Record found out about this the same way as everyone else, the report is cited in the Panel Decision. What’s more interesting is who commissioned the private dick? Who paid the gumshoe and why?

The whole DR piece reads like an arse-covering exercise, if, as he says, rainchairs was in the mess it was when he arrived, why did he stay? Why did he not report his concerns re: CW to the proper authorities?

Did the seamus report show that CW was a banned director? If so, surely the board would have been legally obliged to pass this information to the relevant authorities?

the SPL kept Motherwell and Aberdeen in the league when they should have been

the reaction of some to the Rangers circus is akin to those who only became aware of Nelson Mandella just before/after the big concert – hed been in the jail for ages just as the cheating has gone on for ages.

for those intending giving up, ask yourself this “What do you think Celtic’s enemies would like the Celtic support to do ? Give-up ? ”

Fortunately the rest of the week wasn’t so sunny and I was able to recover for the fantastic show by Bruce on Thursday.
