Uefa-Res 12, Craig Thomson, take a look at yourself

1052

The document from Uefa to the Resolution 12 team, which emerged online over the weekend, is genuine. The headline part of this correspondence was always going to be Uefa confirming that whatever errors or omissions on the part of Old Rangers and the SFA’s Uefa vetting process, no further action was possible as New Rangers are a “new club/new company”.

Priceless, I know, but a delightful wee surprise, though it was, the status of Newco Rangers wasn’t the purpose of Resolution 12. Res 12 was about SFA process and accountability.

There was a great deal of correspondence with media figures since the letter was produced. It’s probably worthwhile noting the chronology of correspondence:

Uefa wrote to the Res 12 team on 6 June, copying the SFA and Celtic. After this date Grant Russell at STV asked Uefa for an update and received pretty much the same information that was sent to the Res 12 guys, without the supporting “new club/new company” line.

You may be of the view that after receiving the 6 June letter, the SFA could have asked Uefa not to offer such information in future (the layers of this story are endless). We’ll never know, but the horse had already bolted.

As correspondence on Res 12 continues, the team decided not to attempt private conversations with Uefa while making correspondence public, which is why this leak didn’t come from the Res 12 team. But I’m glad it’s out. It’s the definitive and irrefutable reference point on the status of Newco Rangers, and it’s on Uefa headed notepaper.

I don’t expect I’ll be goaded about Res 12 online as often going forward.

While we’re on the subject of the SFA: Craig Thomson, take a look at yourself. You know this is not good enough.  Your decision-making this season has been atrocious. James Forrest booking, for staying several yards away from the crowd after scoring a goal, was ludicrous, capping a multitude of errors this month.

If only people at the SFA were accountable. Which brings us back to the point above.

Getting nervous about tomorrow.  So much on the line……

What was that BBC journo called that did the Doc on Deadco – Men who sold the Jerseys(?) called?

Did he pursue Res 12? Or was he put on tea duty after that Doc aired?

    “So did the GB :-(”

    …Thanks for the guilty plea.

The GB will have to speak for themselves, I suppose? Not easy for PL and Co. To be fair I think UEFA’s rule has put the board in an awkward spot.

It’s probably better to keep their views to themselves until things are clearer. Anything they say at this stage will be manipulated by Jabba and his cohorts.

I see Jabba has his lads cleaning and gardening on the nightshift, if it’s quiet on here:))

I remember my old man telling me years ago that he older you get, the harder it is to handle watching big games. For twenty years I’ve been bailing out of dead club games if we’re one up with 15 to go, or switching telly off, or walking around the Gorbals when at the brazen. Tomorrow I’ll be taking a slow walk down to my ma’s grave, as soon as the game kicks off. It’ll be the first time I’ve done so . I’m sure there’s plenty like me.

I’m bringing this up from previous blog because I think its an important enough issue to form a support group.

Big Anxiety Matches Support (BAMS) for short.

Through mutual sharing of how long before we have to switch channels, or walk the dog , or go for a pee if its a penalty, can help deal with the anxiety simply by knowing you are not alone.

Book early for tomorrow s nights session – ITS GONNA BE BUSY!

I think it was Michael Grant and like a lot of journos we criticise, perhaps unfairly, he was put under pressure by the nasties and turned his attention elsewhere.

  6. well i got up this morning at 6am as usual (that’s 0030 Celtic Park time) and get into work for about 8. The internet is working today in sunny Yangon!! but the best thing i see is that the money being raise from the matchfinepalestine is approaching $80k (there is no pound sign on this laptop!!).

anyway for all the disagreements that people may have this is a great cause which will help many people.

    to everyone involved well done.

    HH

now for the game later today (well its tomorrow for me) i say wee will win 2-1.

The solution to your BAMS problem is to live in this neck of the woods. Other that European games our games are not on TV (not all European games on either come to think of it!!). The alternative is Celtic TV (or dare i say it a stream from a far of land) which you have to tether through your phone which is normally kack so a lot of the time it is a text from a friend somewhere other than here that give me the result!!

mind you come to think of it that may makes the onslaught of BAMS worse!!

  9. It’s been tough reading back so far so I’m going to give up.

Posters talking past each other trying to score points off the suffering of others.

It’s WW1 all over again, sniping from entrenched positions and filling the blogosphere with personal insults and repetitive posts.

We have the biggest single game in our recent history due in some 16 hours and we are distracted and divided.

Auldheid will be inundated with requests to join the BAMS tomorrow evening.

Personally I dont think I’ll need to call AA (Auldheids Anonymous) as I confident we will score and render it well nigh impossible for the Bear Shavers to to advance.

I’ve just heard that PL has promised the team that if we fall at this last fence like Devon Loch, the old timers will know the reference, then they will be walking home.

yes defo a country in Flux.. it has been an interesting few years and the change in the main seems to be going well. There are many years to go on that front though with the new guys learning as the go. Unfortunately for some of them they are now also learning that being in power means you can’t please everyone.
