Uefa-Res 12, Craig Thomson, take a look at yourself

1052

The document from Uefa to the Resolution 12 team, which emerged online over the weekend, is genuine. The headline part of this correspondence was always going to be Uefa confirming that whatever errors or omissions on the part of Old Rangers and the SFA’s Uefa vetting process, no further action was possible as New Rangers are a “new club/new company”.

Priceless, I know, but a delightful wee surprise, though it was, the status of Newco Rangers wasn’t the purpose of Resolution 12. Res 12 was about SFA process and accountability.

There was a great deal of correspondence with media figures since the letter was produced. It’s probably worthwhile noting the chronology of correspondence:

Uefa wrote to the Res 12 team on 6 June, copying the SFA and Celtic. After this date Grant Russell at STV asked Uefa for an update and received pretty much the same information that was sent to the Res 12 guys, without the supporting “new club/new company” line.

You may be of the view that after receiving the 6 June letter, the SFA could have asked Uefa not to offer such information in future (the layers of this story are endless). We’ll never know, but the horse had already bolted.

As correspondence on Res 12 continues, the team decided not to attempt private conversations with Uefa while making correspondence public, which is why this leak didn’t come from the Res 12 team. But I’m glad it’s out. It’s the definitive and irrefutable reference point on the status of Newco Rangers, and it’s on Uefa headed notepaper.

I don’t expect I’ll be goaded about Res 12 online as often going forward.

While we’re on the subject of the SFA: Craig Thomson, take a look at yourself. You know this is not good enough.  Your decision-making this season has been atrocious. James Forrest booking, for staying several yards away from the crowd after scoring a goal, was ludicrous, capping a multitude of errors this month.

If only people at the SFA were accountable. Which brings us back to the point above.

Getting nervous about tomorrow.  So much on the line……

Saw the lucky Cody post about Howard Webb.

Couldn’t agree more and did actually write to BT a few months ago to say it would be a great idea to have him up here to comment on the games. Not surprised he is proving controversial. The man knows his stuff.

Suggest a hash tag campaign – Although I don’t know how they work but something along the lines of-#Webb to clean up the cesspit!-would be a good start!!!

Might have to change the word cesspit to SFA as you can’t expect everyone to know what we mean.

Good idea. Anything which exposes their incompetence/ inconsistency/ bias sounds good to me.

I also think a little suggestion which I made some days ago has mileage – a spoof monthly award for the Most Honest Mistakes being delivered to the recipient at Park Gardens. To drive home the point.

I hear that Thomson took the huff with BT and broke established programming procedures to get back at Sutton. Apparently BT has made a formal complaint to the SFA pointing out the money which BT puts into the game in return for broadcasting rights. All gristle to the mill of exposing the pettiness of our referees. HH

  23. Morning All. Nervous as hell. Always am when the ‘Tic are so far away. Dilemma: How to follow the match – a) On Bt which is likely to raise the blood pressure to new levels; b) Can’t/won’t listen to Shortbread for previous crimes against us; c) watch on BT but with the mute button on and refresh CQN every 90 secs; & d) hide in a darkened room and refresh CQN every 30 secs.

( d) usually wins – it helps that I don’t have Sky so have never had to endure Tanner, McCann et al).

Anyhoo – off oot to check on the donkeys (Not Delaney’s) as they were very naughty last night and I think they’ve cost me another electric fence, or at least a new battery. (Don’t know if Delaney’s Dunky has been naughty during the night – will have to scroll back later).

  24. Over the weekend,The Green Brigade launched an initiative to raise funds to help some of the poorest, most oppressed people on this planet.

At the time of typing the money raised is approaching an incredible £80,000 and rising to provide medical aid and facilities for children in a refugee camp.

This fantastic initiative tells me everything I need to know about the Green Brigade folks AS HUMAN BEINGS.

Over the same weekend, a poster on here MATS NILLOC described The Green Brigade as “parasites” and “a cancer” while another poster TONY DONNELLY67 suggested the younger members of The Green Brigade had been “groomed” (with all of the sinister undertones that this implies in contemporary society).

These comments tell me everything I need to know about these two posters AS HUMAN BEINGS.

  28. Here we go on a very BIG day.

Dull and cloudy as ever in darkest Lanarkshire, I have one niggle about tonight..why did Brendan say ” we have two hands ” on the prize? For a man who has handled the media perfectly I thought that was a careless statement. Perhaps I am just being uber sensitive on choice of words?

I see people on here being pilloried for a careless way of describing some of the Celtic support, to be honest I will give the posters the benefit of the doubt, we are all guilty of using the wrong words at times. So Brendan will be allowed the same slack….but we better go through!

To be honest I did not think we would be as close to a couple of Pot 4 pumpings as we are today, so let’s go for it.

    ‘ mon the Hoops!

Morning and, Hail Hail fella, hope yer well and that yer mum had a grand day as well.

Oh, and tell her that her flag will always fly high and proud on the ole Jungle roof ;-)

Anyway,….I’m not too sure what yer lurking sister means ?

Is it to set up an online, blog type of thing ?

Or, is it to appear on BT / SKY and give the Webb angle from there ?

Whatever, tell her to stop lurking and get on here and educate the strange yins like me.

Bobby, Neil Lennon had the refereeing fraternity in Scottish football by the thoat when he, rattled the cages after almost every game. Neil’s crusade against mibbery, backed up by the country’s top legal eagle, the late Paul McBride QC who described the SFA as,….”Sectarian, bigoted and out of date etc….”….the mibs couldny handle being held to account so, they went on strike, and Neil got the blame for it all, just because he refused to bow to an, anti-Celtic establishment.

My old hero, Gerry McNee once described the Scottish refereeing fraternity as a “secret society” that had to open up and, bring in a retired referee from Italy or, Spain ie:…..a, non west of Scotland masonic-orange-hun, to oversee the refereeing set-up and bring it up to date.

Bobby, the Scottish referee’s will be cheating Celtic and, everyone else who plays against the huns in about 200 years time, after we’re all gone.

Unless,….Celtic FC is taken-over by a fans co-operative with the main directors coming from, the Green Brigade and, the Celtic Trust with folk like, Jeanette Findlay and, HamitonTim being the prominet drivers of this new, rebellious, non-kowtowing Celtic board.

So, the likely outcome, because of who we are and, where we are…..we’ll always be the club who’ll represent the underdog community which leaves me to conclude, the only way to deal with this is to be….

    Celtic cute !

    Mr Stein cute !

    Mr O’Neill cute !

    Mr Lennon rebellious !

    Mr Rodgers gung-ho-score-more-than-them cute !

We were the underdogs in this country, even when we were the best team in the world !

    That’s right – the world !

If ye know yer history ;-)

Bobby, get yer lurking sisters on here mhan.

Then again, maybe they’ve copped a load of my nonsense and thought – “Does CQN do ‘that’ to ye ?”

When the Winklepicker-Wagon rolls into the Jungle, it’ll be greeted to a spine tingling rendition of, YNWA.

    May God Bless You Ghuy’s.

    ….off-oot-zzzz…..

  30. MEDTIM@7:46

Over the weekend the GB/Truss launched a charity page to divert attention away from their back-stabbing of Celtic FC and the majority of its supporters.

Of course you choose to airbrush all that shite out – but it did happen and we the majority will never forgive, or forget.

After tonight’s game is out of the way Celtic wil sort things out – there will be only one winner and it WON’T be GB/TRUSS.

When real Celtic supporters pass through gates at Celtic Park, they leave their religious and political affiliations outside – they do not force them on others – they do not place the club in jeopardy, by ramming political dogma down it’s throat.

Real Celtic supporters are there to support the team and the club – it has always been that way until a few hundred zealots decided that there are now two kinds of Celtic supporter.

Running at top speed to the moral high ground in a way even quicker, slicker and more sickening that the rushed out Level 5 statement after the cup final, shows a cynical and devious sub group harnessing social media , every bit as skilfully as Traynor, Level 5 and Sevco.

The day of reckoning is coming, and not a moment too soon – I wonder what they will do on a Saturday and on the Wednesdays when the Champions League anthem echoes round Celtic Park – maybe that continue their protests in George Square, or, in the Concert Hall steps.
