CQN Golf Annual Charity Open
This year’s CQN Open is set for Friday 29 June at the first class Aberdour Golf Club once again. It is a day of sport, entertainment, Celtic chat and is always good fun.
After the golf, we head up the road to the CQN friendly Woodside Hotel for our evening meal. We’ve the usual round up of all things Celtic by Paul67, and our very funny after dinner speaker is Willie Allan. Then musical entertainment from Scoogz, who you may have seen if you’ve been to Celtic Park entertainment nights. Plus all the usual prizes and charity fundraising, for the Petrov Foundation this year. Cost is £40 night only and £80 all day including golf. The Foo Fighters gig you listened to earlier would have been a recording from Tuesday night, when they played the Etihad.
They played London Stadium Friday night and last night, and I can confirm that they were very, very good ??
DD – LG is also a brilliant striker, scores some incredible goals from free kicks.
Think that the best game so far has been Serbia Vs Switzerland.
I had stopped watching football these past few years, apart from the Celtic games. This competition has been very good though, haven’t watched this much football for ages.

OK Stevie, here’s a few tips from myself, a Rangers, true blue legend, to make the job go smoothly…
1. Never, ever, ever bless yourself. Blessing yourself whilst employed at the world’s greatest club is seen to be Kafflickish and we don’t display religious feelings. Nothing prejudicial. We are completely impartial you understand.
2. Never, ever, ever go to Church. Even being seen in the vicinity of a Church raises serious questions about your loyalty to the world’s greatest club.
3. Get rid of anything, anything whatsoever Kafflickish you have in your life. Yes, that means ditch your daughter or get her to change her name. We at the world’s greatest club have no prejudices or discriminatory policies. But just lose all that Kafflick stuff just to be on the safe side.
4. Whatever you own which is a green colour. . . . get rid of it. Green shoes, green T-shirts, socks. . . whatever, ditch it all. The world’s greatest club support her majesty and the crown. Red, white and blue are the only colours we endorse at this club. Nothing to do with racial or religious prejudice, simply a display of loyalty to her great majesty. Oh, sorry I forgot, orange too but only because her majesty is fond of oranges.
5. If you can learn to mimic playing a flute in a marching band, especially if you can whistle one of these tunes (I’ll give you a recording so you can learn them). The fans will help you. At each game they sing the songs, just so that you can familiarise yourself with the melodies of course. They’re good like that.
OK? Too easy. All this nonsense about ball skills and teamwork, who needs it? Just keep it simple.
