BRENDAN RODGERS has backed his goalkeeper Craig Gordon in calling for greater transparency within the SFA’s disciplinary system, as CQN reported earlier today.
The controversial disciplinary process has come in for scathing criticisms following the decision to take no action on Sevco shotstopper Allan McGregor following blatant boot out at the prone Kristoffer Ajer during the Hoops’ recent 1-0 win at Parkhead.
Rodgers agreed more clarity is required as incidents are currently open to interpretation.
He said “We’ve seen a number of incidents that have been up for debate, so it would provide a lot of clarity if we know what the exact rulings were.
“It would be nice to know the panel, their thoughts and how they come to a conclusion.
“It’s three former referees, you are purely seeing it from a refereeing perspective.
“Former players and managers can give other angles and you can then probably make a better decision.”
