We’ve seen more of these games than Brendan

693

Thus far results haven’t mattered, but if his players walk into the dressing room at halftime tomorrow without being in the lead, you can believe there will be an edge in the team- talk. You and I have probably seen more of these kind of games than Brendan. They are seldom straightforward and while the manager plays with pretty much the hand he inherited, I don’t expect a remarkable change in outcomes.

Assuming results go to plan, we’ll have six Champions League qualifiers in the next seven weeks. That’s a lot of football, hopefully most of it will be played with the benefit of one or two more arrivals.

    Cheers. I’ve never seen the boy play but his appearances / goals tally for previous clubs didn’t scream two man tent signing never mind marquee.

    O obviously give him every chance if he comes.

    I saw your comments on John James yesterday. I’m not sure if already covered but I don’t see how the distinction between new club and old club is relevant to title striping. If RFC 1872 broke the rules and historical records are amended why does it matter if they are a new club or old club.

    ==========

    I meant to reply earlier.

    In a way I was testing the water.

    Using UEFA logic: RFC 1872 could not be sanctioned. So taking away their titles could not be done. They get buried with them.

    Of course that means the TRFC would have no claim to them nor could they then add any future trophies to their trophy haul.

    There is not a supporter outside of Ibrox and I suspect a few inside who don’t believe those titles are tainted, but if we want to move on just asterisk them as being won with players improperly paid and registered.

    Punting LNS as being misled would seal it because he was and RFC did it.

  5. Hi guys, first post for ages…. As I’m up in speyside my only visits down to paradise are on match day and always rushing for the bus after the game…. Anyways down in Paisley for a 1 day course which turned into a 2 day course so spent a brilliant hour this afternoon walking right around our fantastic stadium taking some photos etc. We are truly blessed with the stadium Fergus gave us

    A lot of you guys will have debated and discussed with me my tastes in TV and movies.

    I’m probably well late to the party with this one, but i just finished season 2 of Luther and I couldn’t recommend it highly enough. If you thought British cop dramas were all the same, this is the best stuff since Cracker and the killers are more twisted than Jimmy McGovern ever wrote.

    Sensational stuff. Not quite as good as Cracker (even the non-McGovern pieces were masterful) but it’s up there with the best shows I’ve seen these past few years, and I’m told season’s 3 and 4 are even more so.

    ========================================================

    Reaches some greta heights, yer. The RPG killer episodes were the best. Season 4, sor tof loses its way – only 2 episodes seeming for the sake of it.

    Peaky Blinders hands-down the gretaest British TV drama I’ve seen. Just incredible; superb acting and awesome soundtrack; Nick cave fits brilliantly with the entire meme.

    Just pips ‘Our Friends In The North’ for me.

    Only been in the Brazen once St Paddys day 2013…. 2pm-6pm was gutted to leave that day as the place was just getting going, bar staff were excellent 5 strangers sitting in the corner enjoying the music, as soon as we went up for our 3rd round they had already started pouring our round, the photos and strips on the walls and ceiling led to all our conversations…… As for scary wummin, I better not go there ! Luther episode with the killer under the bed, watched that in a caravan at Seton Sands, I used to check under the caravan before we went to bed (apologies as that will mean heehaw to most posters & lurkers)

  12. somethimg struck me today, how come the Louden is a mile from paradise and probably 6 mile from the asbestos dome … I always assumed it would be in Hoban… Seems strange.?

    Celtic Park is sited adjacent to Bridgeton and Dennington, both areas are predominately Rangers supporting areas.

    Parkhead itself has plenty of them too.

    Good read James Forrest.

    Tv wise, Peaky Blinders as mentioned is very good tv as well. Nearly finished “the Living and the Dead” on BBC as well., Supernatural thing if thats your bag. I think we spoke about Ghost Story by Straub a few years ago. So many good shows on now its hard to keep up.

    For the bhoys asking Regan never came back…I was polite but I could have easily been more aggressive and booted him in the haw mass however he looks very nervous, sweaty and heading for a breakdown if I’m honest.

    Anyway great day..loadsa hoops..saw Ross County top but thankfully no dead club or new club tops. Great enthusiasm for the game in all games I watched and plenty skill on view. Worth a visit if u can pop down and support a great cause at the homeless World Cup

  18. Well that was a poor tournament, poor play and the rise of the “game management ” cliche. As expected my rescue betting crashed, leaving me £14 down on the tournament, not too bad.mhowever that is more than I would normally bet in a six month period, so lesson learned.

    The good news is that the Celts are back on the telly tomorrow and this time it matters. The harsh facts are that 6 games in the next 7 weeks will probably shape our season. At best I can see EL qualifying, I fear that Brendan will need another go next year at the CL with his own players. I hope I am wrong and as the betting saga proves, I very often am.

    It seems they are determined to provide me with another episode of “Last Week on Planet Sevco ..”

    Long may it continue :)

  22. On one of my first visits to Celtic Park. A gate in the Stadium was closed and myself and my mate were diverted from our normal route back to City Centre and ended up walking up the road towards the Louden. We didn’t know it at the time but we were about 100 yards from the cess pit when a car stopped driven by a Tim with a wee kid about 10 in the back.

    He rolled down the window & said “Are ye lost, Hop in,” We hopped in and seconds later were passing the Butcher’s Aprons with 4 or 5 nasty looking buggers standing outside.

    The Good Samaritan dropped us off in the Barras and we slipped the kid a tenner each and thanked our lucky stars.

  23. My granny lived a couple of hundred yards from the Louden from the 1930s. I presume she said a wee prayer for the poor misguided souls every day she past on her way to Mass in St Ann’s. (She was actually in St Michael’s but she opted to go to St Ann’s for some reason.)
