It all starts for real next week but, unlike most previous Celtic managers who finds significant interest in his star player, Neil Lennon is pretty chilled when talking about the player moving on. I want to keep Victor, he reminds me of a young Keane (Roy), Neil will want to keep him too, but you have to wonder, what the manager would do with some cash to spend.
Only just catching up with CQN and the UK media, is anyone still interested in the big ball game? Delighted to hear the man from Dunblane got his just rewards. The excellent BBC documentary on him two weeks ago touched on issues you and me and not qualified to touch on here, but there is a great humanity story wrapped up in his achievement.
Our paucity of sporting genetic raw material is apparently untrue. From a (temporary) distance it’s evident he has branded the Scots better than any grappling politician ever could.

Reading craig bellamys book, excellant read.
Speaks very highly of peter grant when they both played at norwich.
Said suttom, thompson and lennon in particular were very welcoming when he came to celtic, reall enjoyed his time with us and the league loss at motherwell left him gutted.
Bellamy was a very angry young man and he knows it, not all bad i dont think. Biting ur tongue wouldnt be his strong point.
Just seen the photie of the pod of zombies. What a bunch of f*nnies! Fair made my day.

Norwich looking at Forster….
Wish the Official site would update the site re our squad for next season. Miku, Lassad, Gershon, McCourt, Rogne & Murphy are all still Celtic players and part of our first team squad according to the Club’s website. Surely t’would only take a minute or two to amend it, they have gone to the trouble of adding Virgil & Balde O.K. but have made no deletions.

Italian Ways : On and Off The Rails From Milan to Palermo —–Tim Parks .
A man who ” gets ” Italy , a man who understands Italy . Highly recommended..
” This is a nation at ease with the distance between ideal and real. They are beyond hypocrisy . Quite simply they do not register the contradiction between rhetoric and behaviour . It’s an enviable mindset .
An excellent , informative read . Possibly best read when you find yourself stuck on a going nowhere anytime soon train , somewhere south of Roma.
bournesouprecipe @ 09:57,
What time the “I told you we should have sold Gary Hooper in January when we were offered more money – post?”
I was actually going to wait until the situation was clarified _ but it’s in the post:-)

Saint Stivs – Black was some finisher. I think a back injury caused his premature retirement from the game. Packie didn’t exactly cover himself in glory for the second though!

It’s only pointless when you don’t support that Old Firm Ltd thing
TTTT,
During that era, as good as Aberdeen were, and United, being brutally honest, how many big games did we lose as the seive got rolled over, or Big Packie made a blunder.
Some crowd at that game, sometimes I miss the old stadium.

Some people may miss Rangers. I don’t, but I don’t pretend to speak for anyone except me.
In spite of not missing Rangers one iota, I have been and continue to be gripped by the Sevco soap opera because the attempts to body-swerve fairness and truth, by Sevco, those who support Sevco and those who abet the supporters of Sevco, leave me in despair.
We need the truth and we need justice. Only then can Scottish football make itself meaningful again. Right now, I think Scottish football is a means to an end for Celtic. Some of the games along the way are fun, others less so. But it’s all about getting a crack at the Champions League again.
For Scottish football to become an end in itself again, an immense amount of mending is required and until the Sevco charade stops, the mending cannot begin.

I would really like to see a strong Aberdeen challenge next year; I think hoopslegend B.Robson could be a great signing.

I have to say, mate – I really enjoy your posts from Italy too. I think you ‘get’ Italy as well. One writer who I think doesn’t get it is Tobias Jones. His is a bag of clichés usually.
Anyway, Lake Garda for us on Friday. Nice :)
Don’t want to get too serious this beautiful morning but there is a lot of truth in your post Celtic First. Scottish Football has become a means to an end for Celtic. Pre Sevco I used to be consumed throughout the week re our League position, who we were playing in next few games who they were playing etc. Last season I was still up for every game but re the League when game was over I went into a bit of a lull until next game came roundin. I still had the buzz re anticipation of Cup matches and was hyper as European games approached but there is an air of inevitability re the League and it does creep into your psyche. Is there anyone on the site who can truthfully say that they are not totally and absolutely confident we will win the League for the next 2 years.
I see Charlie Austin has failed his medical at Hull, seems best avoided that one, we should go for his brother Steve…
6 million would be money well spent.
Tallybhoy,
Let’s see how the print version goes first. A Hollywood offer would be nice though …
