Whyte is still the only bidder and he didn’t even bid

1027

It was theoretically possible someone could have bid for Rangers today but it was always more likely that interim-managers, Duff and Phelps, would get offers that were dependent on a remarkably positive upside.

Sure, if HRMC get their bums handed to them on a plate by the First Tier Tribunal (FTT), Craig Whyte decides to tear up his security on Ibrox and Ticketus forget where they put the contract of sale for the next three years season tickets, even I’d bid for them.  Not much, though, I’m only interested in Waitrose Park out at Milngavie.

There is nothing Duff and Phelps can do about the FTT but wait for the verdict.  It might report in their favour.  If so, it’s game on and they will surely invite offers for sale again, until then, they will have to shuffle paper and look busy.

No one has been able to shift Craig Whyte’s security or offered to buy Ibrox from him, so he is the only real bidder for Rangers and I don’t think he even bid today.  Our old friend Game Theory would have us busy planning for a scenario when he exercises his power in this game.  Ostracising him might encourage him to walk away, or it might force him to dig his heels in.

Game Theory would also suggest we don’t play poker when we know the other guy has four aces, they don’t often walk away.

Pay the man or find a way of telling yourself he’s not that bad after all.

That track will be on one of the multitude of CD’s I have bought for my Mum.

When you hear nonsense like gaga and jls repetition you really do appreciate how amazing these individual artists were.

If Jobo still does his rewind, this track must be up there for the CQN Gold Cup.

I dreamed I saw brave irishmen who set old Ireland free

My local supermarket were promoting Bantry Bay salmon today and Dubliner cheese. They both tasted very good. Well the samples were free and no breaking of the Friday abstinence rules.

My 5 year old grand daughter had her Irish Heritage day today at kindergarten. So she was despatched at 11:45 wearing the hoops and chanting

“Celtic Celtic that’s the team for me.”

All the pubs around have local Irish singers in their bars this weekend includung a few from across the pond.

Our local St Patrick’s Day parade was last Sunday and of course parades happen most weekends this month throughout the county and the rest of the state.

The big one is tomorrow in Manhattan of course. I have marched in it with the local CSCs a couple of times and it was a great experience, especially the huddle at the end up around 84 street in the freezing cold. Tomorrow’s parade will be done in balmy late spring like weather.

It is a universal feast and display which transcends religion and race.

I can’t imagine anything similar in my native land.

    The Herald

No manager in football history has come into a cup final on the back of the commitments Neil Lennon has faced in the past five days. Lennon helped carry the coffin of his friend, Paul McBride QC, at his funeral on Monday and the following day he was in the witness box at the trial of the two men accused of plotting to kill him. Grief, anger, stress – he could have be forgiven for having headspace for everything except football.

Hard to believe the extent of the pressure our friend Neil faces.

Frankly, the S.P.L. is the be all and end all for me.

    The rest is frippery.

    Nevertheless…………………….

  9. Happy anniversary to the Teuchters wife(long sufferin’)…who was daft enough to say ..I do.. awe those years ago.

The auld Teuchter followed the ‘tic over to Canada in ’94 to see a pre-season tourney and ended up havin’ a wee fa’oot wi Luigi…who was a wee bit upset that two of his players decided to have a couple o’guinness’s wi’ the Teuchter…an’ a blast o’the Wolfetones…Anyhoo The bold Luigi informed the Teuch that he was a disgrace to to the ‘tic…..I think his anger only lastedf a couple o’days…when Fergus got him in the office….Anyhoo God bless the wife, who could’nt go on her honeymoon until the Teuchter paid his subscription to the TOCSC.

I carried her over the threshold that night……on the understanding ..she would be carrin’ me home from here on in.

Lenny has an opportunity to do what giants have done before….Sunday is a big day for us all….lets have a ball.

This day always reminds me of childhood days when we would go to mass with the school and take a piece of shamrock from a big bunch at the church door. The wearing of it after school sometimes brought problems though.

Hope tomorrow brings us a good game and hopefully our first silverwear of the season.

Happy st pats day all cqnrs. Like many on here I am almost getting tierd of the constant smoke, mirrors and general mendacity surrounding the Hun story. We all know that they will survive one way or another. Whether its newco or some miricale of Satan that enables them to come out of admin there will always be Huns.

    Cheering you up am I?

Now I don’t really have a Problem with there being a rangers with rangers supporters as it is real good beating them but they would absolutely have to compete on a level field. No more cheating.

The real problem is not a team playing in blue at Ibrox or wherever. The problem is the sfa. Mibs, press and the ignorance and ambivalence of the non celts community. The two sides of the same coin belief is widespread.

I wish not that the hun go away cause they won’t, but that referreing governance and press coverage become fair, honest and not screwed in favour of one team.
