Whyte is still the only bidder and he didn’t even bid

1027

It was theoretically possible someone could have bid for Rangers today but it was always more likely that interim-managers, Duff and Phelps, would get offers that were dependent on a remarkably positive upside.

Sure, if HRMC get their bums handed to them on a plate by the First Tier Tribunal (FTT), Craig Whyte decides to tear up his security on Ibrox and Ticketus forget where they put the contract of sale for the next three years season tickets, even I’d bid for them.  Not much, though, I’m only interested in Waitrose Park out at Milngavie.

There is nothing Duff and Phelps can do about the FTT but wait for the verdict.  It might report in their favour.  If so, it’s game on and they will surely invite offers for sale again, until then, they will have to shuffle paper and look busy.

No one has been able to shift Craig Whyte’s security or offered to buy Ibrox from him, so he is the only real bidder for Rangers and I don’t think he even bid today.  Our old friend Game Theory would have us busy planning for a scenario when he exercises his power in this game.  Ostracising him might encourage him to walk away, or it might force him to dig his heels in.

Game Theory would also suggest we don’t play poker when we know the other guy has four aces, they don’t often walk away.

Pay the man or find a way of telling yourself he’s not that bad after all.

  4. It was 50 years ago today, St Patrick’s Day 1962, my late father took me to see my first Celtic match. We were away to Airdrie and lost 0-1.

After a few years, results started to pick up!

What a precious gift our fathers gave us when they introduced us

    to the joy of Celtic.

I agree, but if you’re going to do well in Europe then its something you need to be able to do unconsciously, but I think we have the players and manager to do it.

  6. Sorry if posted guys.

As far as I know any excess sums go to the Neuroblastoma Alliance so that they can help other kids with the same condition. I understand that there is still a right few quid to come in as well.

It is a sad story and we can only hope and pray that it has the right ending as I know that she is very ill despite appearances. My Brother in law was at an air traffic controllers dinner a couple of weeks ago and Vanessa was there bouncing about like a perfectly healthy child.

I want to expess again tha thanks that was passed on that night. Her grandad, Taff, said that the whole family were just blown away by the generosity and the goodwill of all these strangers who would think to help their wee girl.

Apparently he came around three times to say a specific thanks to the CQN’ers, and kept saying that they would not know where they would be without the Celtic fans and Celtic Football Club.

So we can all only hope for the right outcome and hope that the Doctors can do their thing.

Beyond that, the rasing of the money is something to be proud of, but the goodwill and spirit that lies within those who donated and raised money is something to be cherished and supremely proud of.

That spirit will come to the fore again one day when it is needed.

    Dear Mr Gallagher

One of the biggest weeks of the season lies ahead for Neil Lennon and his players, and Celtic TV is taking supporters right to the heart of the action FOR FREE in a special week-long trial.

It’s easier than ever before to watch the Celtic TV freeview content. All you have to do is visit http://www.celticfc.tv and select what you want to watch in the freeview section – you don’t have to register, login or give us any of your details.

During the five-day trial you’ll be able to watch our nightly news show, the Huddle Online, which will have all the news, highlights and reaction from the Scottish Communities League Cup final against Kilmarnock and will look forward to next weekend’s big game against our derby rivals.

The Huddle Online features exclusive first-team interviews, match highlights, classic match action, exclusive highlights and reaction from Development Squad and Under-19 games and a host of other behind-the-scenes footage from both Lennoxtown and Celtic Park.

Your correct. Nothing but nothing will ever top Lisbon. I would say though that we are witnessing the next best thing. Make no mistake, the huns are reeling like never before. If the cards dont fall for them, they are looking at us having bragging rights which will go on long after I’ve gone. Its Lisbon, 7-1, Barcelona 72 and Manchester 08 all rolled into the one nightmare. Their emmotions are shot. I work with some who display a strange nervous twitch and a forced fake laughter when they approach, as if they can handle it, that there is no problem. There is no need for words. They know we know every detail of their scandal. They hurt like hell and dont now where to start when trying to get a handle on it. Its about shame, guilt, anger, envy, frustration, red faces and dont forget the hatred. That last one has still to show but we’ll all see it next week. Then, come summer, we’ll see an upsurge in orc walks, you know, just to show us they really are still the people! July !2 may well be as wet as it usually is, but these cretins will all have a sun-burned look about them.

    Morning all.

It makes me sad I had to choose between St Patricks Day or going to the Celtic game.

My St Patricks day is the 18th March this year.

Happy At Patricks Day to all those lucky enough to be walking to the ground tomorrow with a banging sore head though!

Have a great stay and a brilliant cup final-winning weekend!

  18. 67Heaven ... I am Neil Lennon..!!..Truth and Justice will always prevail on

Gallagher ….. 09.19…….brilliant analogy…..and funny too….!!!! …..that’s it in a nutshell…….if the FTT rule in favour of HMRC, which it has to…….if they don’t get Ticketus to’ forget’ about a legally binding contract for £24.4m, there is no way any bidder’s conditions can be met, and it’s liquidation………murray’s consortium then need to buy CW out (and he returns to base) and start again in the lower leagues (since there is no way the SPL / SFA could allow them back into the SPL…..not after charging them on 7 counts of bringing the game into disrepute (5 rfc,….2 cw)…….then you have the ‘contracts’ etc situations coming over the hill on a big white horse ………jelly & ice cream indeed……

The only good thing to come out of their recent (desparate) ‘actions’ was to save the ordinary workers’ jobs, since the players have covered themselves (very) well……they could actually end up better off when they leave in the summer, and rfc a lot worse off……pesky agents………(and the daily ranger even managed to put a positive spin on that aspect)

Happy St Patrick’s Day to all……..
