Whyte’s proxy set to step forward for acceptance by SFA, SPL

984

When Duff and Phelps put their initial deadline in place for bidders for Rangers back in March, Celtic Quick News took the view that Craig Whyte was the only show in town and that any successful bid for the company’s assets would have to come from him or his proxy.

We didn’t know who his proxy would be then and we are still not sure – although we could have a pretty good guess.

Place the current SPL and SFA dramas aside for a moment.  If a deal is done to allow a Rangers-Newco to apply to play football next season the new ‘owner’ will be a Craig Whyte appointment.

If this unfolds in the days to come, I fully expect the SFA will take a very long time to consider any Fit and Proper questions, and I expect the SPL board will vote 4-1 to allocate a share in the league to the Newco.

Celtic, united with their own fans, and fans of the Gang of 10 clubs stand in one corner.  The boards of the Gang of 10 want Rangers-Newco money too much to object.  Don’t even count on Newco being subject to the penalties discussed at yesterday’s meeting.

A CQN’er is raising funds for the Wellburn Care Home in Dundee.  Run by the Little Sisters of the Poor, Welburn offers incredible residential support for those in need in the Dundee area.  It is only a viable concern through the dedication of the sisters and volunteers and fundraising initiatives such as sales of work, coffee mornings etc.

You can support their work by bidding for a Celtic top signed by the first team squad at this eBay auction.  Your help is greatly appreciated.

They couldn’t but what’s the worst that can happen to a NewCo? They’ve fielded ineligibly players, so it’s awarded 3-0 to the other team, but it doesn’t matter. Fine? I don’t know if loss of licence is on the list of available sanctions for that crime. If it’s not, there’s not really a meaningful punishment.

What could you do to OldCo? You can’t overturn all their results and relegate them. They don’t exist.

if rangers oldco and newco co-exist, there are stringent UEFA rules prohibiting ownership of two clubs at the same time.

There’s only 1 football license though, so while you own two companies. One is a football club, and one used to be a football club. Don’t think that breaks the rule.

Why don’t we organise a march to Hampden to show opposition to Newco in the SPL?It would let the blazers see that there is as much opposition to Newco,if not more,as there is support for it.All the pessure on the decision makers at the moment seems to be coming from the darkside,a visible and highly attended protest against Newco would redress the balance somewhat.Obviously IMHO.

It seems unlikely that those on bosmans will be re-signed.

So probably it is goodbye to Cha, Majstorovic, M.Wilson, Odea and Loovens

It would then mean a choice of Paddy McCourt, McGinn, Murphy, J.Thompson, Juarez, Rasmussen.

It would seem Forster and Brozek might leave as well.

    Quite a few leaving then.

Neil says 6 leaving but does that factor in sales?

  6. and come to think of it… hypotheticaly…

if murray, miller, kennedy all pulled out (let’s call it the rythym method) and duff and phelps were then to wind up the company… the players registrations would revert to the SFA, so…

who would pay their massive wages come june?

i know, again, this is all hypothetical… but i wouldn’t put any hair-brained scheme beyond this mob.

Quick question about the CVA, not that they have any chance of securing one…

From having a quick peek at hun forums over the last few weeks, there have been a number of instances of ‘wealthy’ Rangers supporters paying off some of the small creditors, believing they were doing well by their club and improving the image of their support(as if). Whether we believe these reports is another question.

Would they, though, by paying off some of the smaller creditors, greatly reducing their chances of agreeing a CVA? If its only the larger creditors left 75% of them aren’t going to agree to a pennies in the pound deal.

Or do the larger creditors carry more ‘weight’ when the vote on agreeing a CVA is taken?

    HH

    Bang on traditionalist88

This is extremely underhand and are the amount of wee creditors being reduced by these payments made from a different company who do not owe the original debts? Traditionalist, that is a big question mark?

I wonder if any of those wee creditors will state that Rangers haven’t settled their debt? Just because they have received an amount equal to the Rangers debt from a 3rd party they’re not required to state that the debt has been cleared, I wouldn’t have thought. Unless of course the 3rd party donot has a contract making that a condition of the donation.

We could get rid of about 12 players and lose nothing, get the wage bill down and get a bit more quality in.

  20. one more thing, regarding CVAs…

am i right in thinking the big tax bill will not be considered as part of their debt if they decided to negotiate a CVA before the result of the appeal is announced?

i know they have been presented with the bill… but presumably until that bill is ratified by the FTT it is actually anybody’s guess how much it will weigh in at, thus how do you calculate what percentage of overall debt it is worth?

i can’t see how it would work the other way, ie taking the original sum of the bill for percentage purposes as… on that basis if they negotiate an Xp in the pound deal with creditors, then the appeal is upheld, there would have notionally be a bigger amount of p in the pound to be distributed to creditors.

    yes, i am confused.

These payments to some of the smaller creditors do not appear to have been made via the ‘Rangers Fighting Fund’, so not sure legally where things stand and how this affects a potential CVA. There have even been question marks over the ‘Fighting Fund’ and its legality in terms of tax etc.

  26. If a hun newco and a hun oldco were to co-exist within close proximity then the two would annihilate each other leading to an intense quantum singularity that could rip the space time continuum apart and cause the destruction of the universe as we know it.

At least that’s how I read the Penrose–Hawking singularity theorems.

Agreed with most of that list except: Rasmussen & Juarez never received a fair crack of the whip. Just like Hooiveld. Look at him now. K Wilson has no chance of leaving. He will be given one more season at least. And so he should. Blackman- what has he done wrong? Yeah let Paddy go elsewhere- for my own selfish reasons alone- so I can see his unique talent more often. Bangura- does he not deserve at least a semblance of a chance? Brozek- you seen much of him then? Stokes- scored over twenty goals this season- crap intae? Man you are one hard nosed armchair scout.

Also scientists at CERN think that if a newco and oldco huns collide there is a real possibility they could catch a glimpse of the Huns Bosson Particle.

Though until now they have been to afraid to attempt to recreated this in their large HunCo Collider for fear of the damage which could result. Up to know it is purely theoretical.

I can smell a court case. If someone tries a CVA, ignoring the BTC, HMRC will wade in with the position that they are owed the money until Rangers win the FTT. It’ll take a judge to sort it out.

  33. I was talking to Mark Wilson and Paddy on Sunday night. Mark said he was definitely going, had been told at that point, Paddy was talking about his daughter settling into school, so seems less likely

If that were to happen ,the OldCo, which emerged under CVA, would then be obliterated by the FTT when it ruled so no logical reason to try anything before the FTT
