I’m sure many of you will be aware of the Vanessa Riddle appeal which has featured in the comments page in recent weeks. Vanessa was diagnosed with a form of childhood cancer in 2009 but after extensive and difficult treatment received the all clear 17 months ago. Last month her parents received news that she had suffered a relapse and that no suitable treatment was available in the UK. Treatment is available in Philadelphia at a cost of £500,000.
Although the diagnosis is only a few weeks old the fundraising effort to send Vanessa to Philadelphia has already raised over £137k with increasing numbers of people becoming aware of the need on a daily basis (CQN’er, Brogan Rogan Trevino and Hogan is not a man to be denied).
To help raise awareness and funds, Taggsybhoy has booked Jury’s Inn, Glasgow, two nights next month, one of which, Saturday 11th February, he will hold a Music Quiz for the CQN community, with all proceeds going to the Vanessa Riddle Appeal. You may have heard mention of the appeal but if you have not caught the details take a moment to update yourself here. Getting involved is as part of your Celtic heritage as green and white hoops. Don’t forget to book for the quiz, there’s a limit of 70 people for the room so you can’t turn up unannounced. We’re home to the Highanders that day.

I stated what I’d heard from an extremely reliable business acquaintance close to the source:

it was my youngest brothers birthday yesterday.
born 24th January 1979.
he went to his first match against Morton, Cappielow, we won 2-1 i think, 1983.
our twin brothers were there causin mayhem, ypsr , and all that, but a right of passage was borne.
he hadnt started school yet.
loads of early highlight, he was at love street 86.
Partizan game.
Centenery double. both the win against dundee 3-0 for the league (80,000 probably there),
and McAvennie double against United,
game against Honved, in the EC, brother gets a ball handed to him, we were in the main stand, from Mick McCarthy.
then the barren years began.
we suffered it all, week in, week out, everywhere.
Raith was the worst.
for me, i gret. on the way out Brother, Cousin and Nephew in tow . I gret.
Brothers first Huns game we won, Andy Payton scored a winner.
First time at the victorian toilet block was the 3-3.
Hampden season, mostly misery.
TB and the first season return , our seats in 144.

Since then Martins years, WGS , for me, success means everything in results and trophies, perfomances and flair are great, but if we had won 1-0 in seville with a penalty, that would have been better than watching Henke score them goals.

and since then, lots of great and greater memories
together we dont like the huns, we really dont, we love beating them,

My family are all Thistle fans,but after seeing a team score 6 in one game,well that was it for me.
Which takes me to my proudest moment being another 6 goal game,against the Huns,3 up in a 11 minutes .
Brilliant,sure I’ve been at the bad ones but the feeling that day as Sutton made it 6 will live with me forever.

I have checked back on all my CQN postings and have asked this 8 times in 2 years without a reply. I am now asking a 9th. Splain to me why a billionaire Celtic shareholder wont buy the huns? Last time they went for a pound.
