Broony Lewis, Fraud or not, Establishing Locus

370

Been in conference in deepest Manchester for a few days, has anything happened? First of all, well done to the captain for the whole onesie thing. I remember the days Celtic View staff had to campaign for days to get a word from a Celtic player. Notions that the senior players would roll their sleeves up and get involved with media, commercial or Foundation projects were fanciful.

While the move to Lennoxtown has no doubt been good for players and coaches, fans seldom get to see players in less formal roles, like this, or the now frequent Celtic shop visits.

BroonyIf you’ve not seen the video, check it out here.  It’s a Joy of Celtic kind of thing (which I know you have in spades).

Fraudulent or not?

Lord Haw-Haw: Yes.
William Shakespeare: Maybe.
Celtic, East Dunbartonshire and NHS Greater Glasgow: No.

Audit Scotland yesterday announced that there were no fraudulent activities surrounding the purchase of Lennoxtown by Celtic. Imagine that!  Celtic paid full price, including tax…

CQN and others spend years predicting the fate of Rangers and Murray International Holdings. The evidence was there, if a little hidden. Just because one group of fans can successfully uncover significant information on another club, doesn’t mean that any or every club is managed in an illicit manner.

The tip is: if you’re going to put a lot of time and effort into something, chose your subject carefully. Otherwise you not only waste your time, but you miss a whole lot of more serious action.

Establishing the locus…

….what you need to do before you are considered appropriate to mount a Judicial Review of a process. Mike Ashley did this yesterday, despite his 9% shareholding in Newco. Fan groups wishing to pursue the SPFL, should they fail to look at the goings-on at oldco in the light of various recent legal matters, will need to convince a judge they are entitled to ask for a Review.

There is a clear route for pursue, should it be necessary.

On Ashley’s Judicial Review of the SFA’s decision to fine him £1000. If the Association are wise they’ll capitulate now. He knows what they don’t, he started this action knowing he has enough to win.

So what would you prefer, Newco fan money goes into Newco, or is held for a more productive moment? I reckon they should pile in now.

    Janko Rogic Mulgrew Izzy

    Griffiths

With a severely depleted midfield we need to stiffen up somewhere. If Janko is fit then would play four fullbacks. Forrest in a free roll & Griffiths up front would also give us a big threat on the break. No Janko then Forrest on the right & Armstrong comes in behind Griffiths.

  8. Ellboy

    I would go with

    Gordon

Lustic Boyata Siminovic Tierney (will probably be Izzy)

    Janko , Rogic, Allan, Forrest

    Johansen

    Griffiths

I can see the logic of putting Charlie in there for experience. However he will not be match fit and is too slow for my liking.

I liked Allans direct approach on the couple of occasions he has played, and would give him the shout tomorrow.

Of course Ronny will have a completely different approach, but his options are limited.

  11. Losing the captain is a blow, but it now gives others a chance. Hopefully we get to see Stuart Armstrong in his best position of central midfield, alongside Bitton in the coming 8-12 weeks. Scott Allan ahead of those two would also be good to see.

RD will probably take a chance on Mulgrew for Thursday but hopefully only as a one off.

  12. Gary,

    Totally agree.

I’m all for guys getting a chance. Experience is invaluable.

  13. WEEMINGER

Sh*t, we are depleted then. I’d go with Armstrong, who has been rank the last couple of games in centre mid, and put Allan in behind Leigh.

One things for sure.. it will be an interesting night

ONE of Britain’s leading bankruptcy experts has been appointed to probe ex-Rangers owner Craig Whyte’s finances.

Louise Yermonay will investigate the businessman’s assets to see if any money can be recovered for creditors.

The insolvency expert has built a fearsome reputation while dealing with some of the country’s most high-profile bankruptcy cases.

Previous bankrupts she has handled have included disgraced Tory MPs Jonathan Aitken and Neil Hamilton, TV presenter Michael Barrymore, historian David Irving, singer Kerry Katona and former Rangers captain Colin Hendry.

Whyte, 44, was made bankrupt at the High Court in London last month over a debt of more than £20 million owed to ticketing firm Ticketus.

Ticketus then asked the court for a bankruptcy trustee with full investigative powers to be appointed leading to Ms Brittain, the head of Contentious Insolvency at London accountancy firm Wilkins Kennedy, taking the role.

She said her job would be an “information gathering” exercise to see if Whyte had any money or property which could be sold off.

She said: “Creditors can ask for a bankruptcy trustee to be appointed to deal with the bankruptcy and that’s why I have been appointed.

“This can be done for various reasons, such as estate being held abroad, and it is not unusual in a bankruptcy of this kind.

“This is not a normal consumer credit bankruptcy.

“My role is to interview the debtor and investigate their assets by looking at their bank accounts for example.

“I will then make any payments that are possible to the directors of Rangers International Limited.

“The process can be quick and it might be possible to make some funds available before the January transfer window.

“We will also be in direct discussions with Trinity Group Newspapers to see if they can help provide more information into the missing billions”

“The debtor will be discharged from their bankruptcy after one year but that can be extended if there is non co-operation, either from himself of his suitors.”

Miss Yermonay said her role did not include investigating any “wrongdoing” prior to the bankruptcy as this was a matter for the Insolvency Service.

She has forged a reputation as one of the leading bankruptcy specialists in the UK

Her first big break came when her previous firm Baker Tilly secured the Jonathan Aitken bankruptcy. She recovered four times more money for the creditors than they were originally offered and the other cases followed on from that.

Ticketus successfully sued the Whyte for damages in 2013 over his part in the takeover of the Ibrox club in 2011.

The bankruptcy petition was filed at the High Court in London after he did not pay a judgment debt, plus costs and interest, currently worth £20.8m.

Ticketus provided cash to help Whyte purchase Rangers in 2011. The agreement was later terminated when the club entered administration in February 2012.

In April last year Whyte surrendered the keys to his 15th century pile Castle Grant, near Grantown-on-Spey.

The property was re-possessed by the bank due to him failing to pay the £7000-a-month mortgage for two years.

Whyte and his then wife Kim bought the castle for more than £700,000 in 2006.

Whyte also faces criminal charges over his part in the Rangers takeover and has been granted legal aid to fight the case.

  15. Interesting comments from Ciftci’s agent that suggest the player is not happy. He is advocating change to Celtic’s style of play….using two up front. Unusual for an agent to make that kind of detailed comment, and it is, of course, self serving. However, it does not follow that he is wrong, even if he is ignored by RD.

The game tomorrow will tell us a lot about the progress that has been made over the year.

I agree with you on Charlie & like the sound of Rogic with Allan but with Johansen out we need some sort of defensive cover in the middle of the park. Very difficult trying to pick a starting 11 with squad players, especially ones who have limited game time. Just hope Ronny gets it right, but I fear a doing if he sticks to his philosophy.
