Broony Lewis, Fraud or not, Establishing Locus

370

Been in conference in deepest Manchester for a few days, has anything happened? First of all, well done to the captain for the whole onesie thing. I remember the days Celtic View staff had to campaign for days to get a word from a Celtic player. Notions that the senior players would roll their sleeves up and get involved with media, commercial or Foundation projects were fanciful.

While the move to Lennoxtown has no doubt been good for players and coaches, fans seldom get to see players in less formal roles, like this, or the now frequent Celtic shop visits.

BroonyIf you’ve not seen the video, check it out here.  It’s a Joy of Celtic kind of thing (which I know you have in spades).

Fraudulent or not?

Lord Haw-Haw: Yes.
William Shakespeare: Maybe.
Celtic, East Dunbartonshire and NHS Greater Glasgow: No.

Audit Scotland yesterday announced that there were no fraudulent activities surrounding the purchase of Lennoxtown by Celtic. Imagine that!  Celtic paid full price, including tax…

CQN and others spend years predicting the fate of Rangers and Murray International Holdings. The evidence was there, if a little hidden. Just because one group of fans can successfully uncover significant information on another club, doesn’t mean that any or every club is managed in an illicit manner.

The tip is: if you’re going to put a lot of time and effort into something, chose your subject carefully. Otherwise you not only waste your time, but you miss a whole lot of more serious action.

Establishing the locus…

….what you need to do before you are considered appropriate to mount a Judicial Review of a process. Mike Ashley did this yesterday, despite his 9% shareholding in Newco. Fan groups wishing to pursue the SPFL, should they fail to look at the goings-on at oldco in the light of various recent legal matters, will need to convince a judge they are entitled to ask for a Review.

There is a clear route for pursue, should it be necessary.

On Ashley’s Judicial Review of the SFA’s decision to fine him £1000. If the Association are wise they’ll capitulate now. He knows what they don’t, he started this action knowing he has enough to win.

So what would you prefer, Newco fan money goes into Newco, or is held for a more productive moment? I reckon they should pile in now.

  1. Wow. No Brown, Commons, Bitton or Joe Hanson.

A whole midfield, including our best (only?) enforcer, and our best (only?) creative midfielder, out of action.

    Big, big test for Ronny.

However, tomorrow night wit will be up to the likes of Armstrong and Allan to show they have what it takes to play for Celtic. This isn’t Utd or Hibs, there’s no hiding place here.

As for Broon’s replacement? McGinn of Hibs?

I don’t think I would go as far as making him El Capitano, ach feck it, why not :-)

Feel sorry for SA, can’t recall him ever playing in his preferred position, they stick him out wide where he is as useful as a fart in a trance, hopefully he gets a start where he can do the biz.

Would also give Scott Allan a start, throw in the weans, the will have no fear, I would rather we had a go and the weans will give it a lash for sure.

I saw the clip of the GASL leaving Hampden today but to be honest I was more interested in the guy he seemed to leave with .

Can anyone put a name to the face as it would be strange to go for a courtesy call to the SPFL offices with a representative if that was who he was

Yeah I agree, cant see anyone in Scotland, I would give Neil Lennon a call and ask him to recommend someone from the Championship, I’m sure Neil would be delighted to help us out.

    How ya doing?

“useful as a fart in a trance”?! you are going to have to explain that one to me … I have heard ‘as welcome as a fart in an elevator’ which sort of makes sense … but this one eludes me.

ps … I get the point … and agree that SA isn’t much use out wide, and would like to see him given a run in the middle of the park …. it is the terminology that has confused me.

  7. With Skoosh being out, and a few others, we need those who come in to take their chance. Armstrong, James Forrest, Efe?, GMS, Scott Allan and Bitton(he will be the senior guy in midfield) are going to have to step it up!

    I believe they will.

But tomorrow I will be screaming at a tv in Southport.

So suggestions for a place to watch appreciated.

“The feedback I have had verbally from both the parents and children has been positive and even weeks after the game they are still talking about their experience. We have had two single dads who have attended with their sons for the first time and this was a special memory for both. The kids have been writing about their experiences in the school and six children have gone on to join local football clubs which built their confidence.

“Finally I know Celtic has gained fans for life and hopefully players in the future.  I myself would like to thank you for allowing us the opportunity to offer our families tickets.”

Like you, I had high hopes for SA and GMS when they came over from DU, but have been disappointed in both of them. GMS has had a few chances, but has looked short of confidence. As you say, to be fair to SA, he has been forced out wide, which doesn’t seem to be his preferred position.

From our available pool of players, and assuming that RD sticks with his 4231, I have wanted to see Armstong and Biton play the two mid roles. Hopefully, RD will give them a few games together, as I think they are both smart cultured footballers who could provide a good base for the team.

For tomorrow, I would like us to change shape a bit, and maybe go with 3 in the middle … Armstrong, Efe and – although I am not really a great fan of him in the middle, Mulgrew as the left mid, to give the team a bit more presence in the middle of the park.

Dont expect that RD will change, but that is what I would like to see.

coneybhoy … the other expression is ‘as welcome as a fart in a space suit …’ although, presumably you are the only one in the suit …. so cant see it being as much of a problem….

okay …. clearly, after 11 years on CQN, I have run out of things to talk about! :)

  18. Given the experience we are missing tomorrow night, I wouldn’t be surprised if Izzy started.

  19. For me its, Gordon, Lustig, Jozo, Boyata, Tierney, Efe,Rogic, Allan, Armstrong, Forrest & Griffiths.

Sorry to see Brooney with such a serious injury but sometimes if a Manager’s hand is forced good can result. I really hope he tries Efe in midfield and I hope he gives Allan a run of games.

I’m still bemused that he left Allan sitting on the bench for 83 minutes against Killie, the way they were defending it was crying out for a midfielder who could unpick them with an incisive pass. Anyhow that’s water under the bridge now, hope we see a bit more of Allan in next few weeks.

  20. mike in toronto on

bada bing … think you are right about izzy starting. I think the young bhoy has earned the starting spot, but, for tomorrow, could understand if RD felt he needed a bit of experience on the park.
