More injuries and set-piece woes for Spartak

1051

Just as Celtic’s injury problems appear to be lifting Spartak Moscow’s are getting more acute each passing game.  Their cult-hero goalkeeper, Andriy Dykan, was substituted after picking up an injury in yesterday’s win against 10-man Amkar Perm and is unlikely to face Celtic.  Already injured, Pareja, Welliton, Parshivlyuk, Jurado and Romulo, never made the squad.

The goal Spartak lost to ninth-place Amkar, is worthy of note.  It was the eighth goal they have lost to a set piece in the last 10 games.  Celtic have been particularly effective from set pieces in Europe already this season and will see an opportunity in corners and free kicks deep in opposition territory.

Tuesday is the day…..

After filling out my tax return, I realised I paid more than rangers fc last year and wondering now if I’m paying more this year too.

    RRC,

for me its sickening, charity having to raise the money to protect children from illness, any illness, its is far more important than murdering civilians abroad.

It is sickening that my people have paid for so many wars abroad yet “leaders” refuse to protect our people.

No enough Robin Cook’s in this world.

    greengarry1967,

No argument with what you are saying, Bud

I have the same global view

The compassion some can show for others is I think arrogantly taken for granted by those in the position to really help

Having said that, I get moved when I see what can be done when like minded people with compassion for others are in motion

There is definitely something unique about Celtic and her family, I agree

People with compassion for others can found in many places.

I’m sure it was highlighted that 4 of Wee Oscar’s Green Bucket Army were “Rangers” supporters and one was a Hearts supporter, They have my equal respect

But, Celtic, That’s the team for me :-)

You know more than anyone else that the British have created the Muslim Brotherhood for the time just ahead, the next attempt to ethnic cleanse, just like Herod started thousands of years ago.

I actually think more of those 5 footie fans than our excellent Celtic fans.

Especially as their support can be venomous towards Celtic. As philvis does and wee Oscar does even better than the mighty philvis. Thumbsup and I hope they have drinks bought for them for a long time.

  12. For London based CQNers. Copied from elsewhere in the Timosphere

The “Save the Cock Tavern” campaign along with the Underground Celtic Supporters Club and the London No.1 CSC would like to invite other Celtic Supporters Clubs in London and the south east along to the Cock, on Sunday 7th of October, for the televised game against Hearts. (12.45pm kick-off).

We aim to put on a massive show of solidarity and support for the campaign to ‘Save The Cock Tavern’ and to oppose Firestrike, the company attempting to shut the pub down and redevelop the building into luxury apartments in yet another unwelcome attempt to rid the area of its strong working class identity and community spirit.

We would ask all supporters clubs attending to bring their CSC banners to help us send the strongest possible message yet, that ‘we shall not be moved!’ As Gerard Donaghy mentioned in his ‘One for the Bhoys’ column in the Irish Post, the Cock Tavern is a great venue to watch Celtic and has been for many years! As the home of two Celtic Supporters Clubs for over a decade it’s closure would be as great a loss to the Celtic family as it would to its regular patrons and the locality in general.

This invitation is extended to Irish support groups, county associations and indeed anyone who wishes to lend their voice to the campaign to keep Sheila and the Cock Tavern as a cornerstone of the Somerstown community. We urge as many of you as possible to come along and show your support for Sheila and the “Save The Cock Tavern” campaign. Hail-Hail!!

  14. It’s been a funny Oul day.

Basking in the glow of a comprehensive victory at Fir Park, I have been

Uplifted by the news on the Wee Oscar charity achievement

Intriqued by the release of Duff and Duffer’s final report

Thrilled by the Ryder Cup recovery (the greatest recovery since Lazarus’?)

Assured by Zybeck’s observations on Spartak

    But

Perplexed that board bickering distracted everyone from the positive items for discussion.

Ah well today is a full moon and tomorrow is another day.

In fact in Europe tomorrow is the day we leave an indelible mark on the CL
