128 seems impossibly indiscriminate

1423

Banning 128 fans seems impossibly indiscriminate.  I don’t know how it was decided but it sounds like “those eight columns and sixteen rows” – painting with a very broad brush.  If so, the Club must meet with those in the affected area as soon as possible to allow fans who have had nothing whatsoever to do with vandalism or dangerous behaviour to continue to follow their club.  If such a letter arrived on my doorstep, I would want to face the Club urgently.  We’ve all been tarred by the pyros, banners and vandalism, but some are paying a higher price.

Unless there is specific evidence against an individual, the default expectation must be that bans will be lifted after interview.

Back in July, after the Club and the Green Brigade met to agree a way forward following some early season Uefa disciplinary problems, we wondered if either could control every last hanger-on hoping to ‘stick it to the man’.  Statements in recent days from both organisations show how impossible this has proven to be.

When I wrote my article on Saturday I didn’t expect the condemnation of the previous night’s incidents, from all sections of the support, to be so comprehensive.  We’ve seen elsewhere the damage procrastination and deflection can be.  There is no need to deflect.  We will not blame Chelsea fans. Nor is there need for ‘whataboutery’. Vandalising seats and throwing flares is now endemic in our game but Celtic fans are judged by higher standards. The Celtic support is characterised by by enormous generosity. Still.

    Good to hear that.

Started playing again last month after a huge effort to get fit, made up for him, although there is an anxiety on his part whenever the game gets a little rough. He’ll get over it though.

  2. Maybe we should ask PL of the SFA what their views are on oldco/newco since RCO of the SFA wont tell us.

While we are watching a match in Istanbul,or just spouting our usual meaningless nonsense on here, there are some people in foreign countries doing things which really matter.

Like, showing our club in a good light, spending a small fortune, and, erm, having fun while they do so.

JIMBO67 and his female companion,my Dad and my sis,ACGR,TET,PRAECEPTA and Lord knows who else are all over in Barcelona.

Flying the flag, and having a right good hootenanny prior to the game.

I envy them all,but I can hardly complain since I canny be arsed to renew my passport!

But,for anyone reading this who is in Barcelona and wishes to join the party, there was a clue in the above.

Look for a blinkin’ big flag wi HOOTENANNY written on it!!!!!!!

I hope all involved have an occasion to remember.

I am grateful to SFTB for picking holes in your argument.

If this is side lined there is a lot, lot, more than SFA monitoring at stake.

I am confident it will not be side lined or we have been lied to and can show it.

Setting free the bears. You are of course entitled to your point of view however,I do think it has been kicked into the long grass and the Celtic support will mumble grumble and argue but will find there will be no unity of purpose to do anything about it.I to trust PL to do his best for Celtic and think he is doing a good job for the club.Only time will tell who is correct on the issue but I am comfortable with my position and not looking to hear anything about the situation in the near future. Now on with the action on those who broke seats at Fir Park last Friday Oh wait a minute we cant even agree on that United we stand divided we fall is a pretty true saying in my view. Interesting stuff from the MAIL for betting types?

‘Just arrvived in Maribor with the Wigan team and around 150 supporters on the official flight.

‘It’s the quietest I’ve known an airport since landing on the Faroe Islands with Northern Ireland and finding the handful of aircraft there were sharing the tarmac with some distinctly unimpressed sheep.

‘New Wigan boss Uwe Rosler made it pretty clear earlier this week he could do without any unwanted distractions, as he sets his sights on promotion.

‘Expect an understrength line-up tomorrow night, with several key players rested, but at least on-loan Manchester United midfielder Nick Powell is on the trip.’

Auldheid. I don’t think anything has been said on CQN that makes me think you will be given the inside track by Celtic on the issue. It for me all points to you let the chance slip through your hands when you withdrew resolution 12 even had you forced the board to knockback the resolution you would have shown you had teeth and in my opinion maintained credability. The fact you did withdraw the resolution again in my opinion showed weakness now I do not expect you to agree with anything I have said and that’s fine by me and only time will tell if you are indeed correct as you say or have been double bluffed as I see it. H.H.

Still, on the bright side, that’s just the kind of news that could knock Celtic off the front pages.

On a similar note have you noticed that on the rags advertising boards outside newsagents, where it’s reads “old firm latest” and has the the Celtic and oldco crests side by side. How come the oldco crest always has to overlap on top of Celtic’s just a wee bit.

I mean, you’d think the guys designing the poster could measure it out so that the crests are side by side. How hard can that be?

Why not vote it down then?

take these two scenarios if you have a disagreement with our club :-

    a) they tell you openly we have considered your argument and we disagree with it and are not finding in your favour

    b) Yes, there’s merit in your argument and we are going to look at this. 6 months later you phone to find out how your complaint is going and they tell you, “Naw, we were just stringing you along, there’s no merit in your approach and we did not even look at it.”

Both scenarios might make you angry but only one is designed to provoke. I don’t think PL is a provoker.
